  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 09:37 AM) I was surprised to find out that Kotsay's only DH'd 37 games. His degree of suck has made me think he's been there 97 games. But just like Randy Williams he continues to get trotted out there way more than he should.
  2. Lets wait until the deadline is passed before we pass judgment. He can easily be flipped for another player.
  3. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 09:31 AM) Kotsay is the biggest rally killer ever. You'd think 4 straight months of being atrocious at the plate is a good enough sample size for Ozzie to seriously diminish his workload...but I guess not.
  4. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 09:28 AM) Not saying that I will yell at people, jsut like I wont yell at people for getting up during a pitch and blocking my vision when they couldve waited the 3 minutes when the inning is over to go get another round of nachos. The Wave is just stupid in general, disruptive during important parts of the game, and should only really be fun for fans who are either under 8 yrs old, or the team is getting blown out by 10 runs. Otherwise, youre there to watch baseball. Completely agree with everything you've stated.
  5. QUOTE (Hawk09 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 09:23 AM) The wave is like someone farting real loud at a funeral....outta place. Crowd noise and participation should be triggered by events on the field. But,can't fight city hall. Anti-wave movement should make a statement by standing until wave gets to them and then sit down. You might want to tell the scoreboard operator to get rid of the "Make Some Noise" meter that's used in the oddest scenarios.
  6. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 09:22 AM) Or it blocks your vision when there is a big play coming up (in this case it was Putz getting hit hard). Yeah but what are you going to do? Be the one "get off my lawn" guy in the section and get into an argument with everyone? It's not worth it with a bunch of drunk fans surrounding you.
  7. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 09:19 AM) Whenever everyone else stands up and you just sit there, people stare at you. That's why I wear shirts with blood stains all over them when I go to the game. People tend to leave me alone.
  8. I've always hated it and still do but could care less if one starts up. I just ignore it and carry on.
  9. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 08:52 AM) The more I think about this, I'm calling bulls*** that he's staying with the Sox. They want Dunn, and this is part of it. An NL pitcher with a 5.16 ERA who can't throw strikes? This is not a Kenny move for a pennant race. I feel the same way.
  10. QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 07:02 AM) That would be a perfect trade day for me as well. I think Berkman fits in more with what the Sox are trying to do offensively than Dunn does, and I like Dunn. The one guy I don't want the Sox to give in any trade is Viciedo(Beckham is already off limits). Huh? How could you even say that? Dunn is a much better fit for our offense.
  11. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 07:43 AM) Haven't read a single post yet here, but UGH. Jackson isn't that good. Many of us had similar sentiments when we acquired Contreras, Floyd and Thornton.
  12. It's amazing that Kostay still gets to play so much even after sucking for 4 months in a row.
  13. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 09:08 PM) Exactly. I would have liked to see Pena in this inning. Linebrink in the next and Santos finishing it up. If there is a way to save Putz, Thornton, and especially Jenks from work, you do it. I'd replace Pena with Threets in your suggestion.
  14. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 09:06 PM) Today's not the day to waste your bullpen. I'd rather save the better guys for Hudson's start tomorrow. They'll likely be needed.
  15. With the bottom of the order and a 4 run lead I wouldn't mind seeing Liney get the 8th and 9th hitters.
