  1. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 18, 2010 -> 11:43 AM) Yeah fire Walker because he did so poorly with Alex Rios this offseason. The only legitimate argument for firing coaches is that they Sox need a few scapegoats to take the blame. Can you give me a hypothetical scenario where you think firing a hitting coach is necessary?
  2. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 18, 2010 -> 10:48 AM) Heh So the 2 reasons he's been brought here in the 1st place really haven't panned out. 1) Late inning defensive replacement: Why isn't he ever playing 3rd in the 9th when we have a lead? Yes I know we rarely have a lead but Teahen is a liability out there. 2) Mentor for Alexei: Has anyone noticed any difference in Alexei's game? I haven't.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ May 18, 2010 -> 10:07 AM) What's all these intangibles that AJP provides? I used to be a huge fan of his hustle, aggressiveness, etc. Now, he's basically just a singles hitter who can't throw and struggles blocking pitches in the dirt. Also, it's not like he's helping our pitchers overachieve with his pitch selection. AJP is a solid player, but I don't think it will kill the organization to get some new blood behind the plate. He seems like the kind of guy that gives a little extra when things are going really well for a team and dogs it a bit otherwise.
  4. Vizquel back in the 2 hole for today's game per Gonzalez.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 18, 2010 -> 07:48 AM) Oil is washing up in Key West. That means it's gotten into the Gulf Stream, and it's going to go the whole way round Florida. Hope you took your Florida vacations already, you won't be wanting to take another. Yay. I'll be there next week screaming "where's the oil?!" like that idiot on Fox.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 17, 2010 -> 04:39 PM) I put the changes I wanted. I said I knew we wouldn't move Lexi back to second. Since they wont do that, put Beckham at third, it's Lexi at short and play Omar/Nix at second. Making Teahen a scrub makes a helluva lot more sense than sending Beckham down. If we send Beckham down, I think our organization has lost its mind. And to think this organization put together a WS champ just five years ago. Having Juan Pierre and Teahen in the everyday lineup is really really bad for a major league team planning on winning games. Some of the others are underachieving big-time, but these two guys are a joke. They are once a week players. But Omar is an everyday player for you?
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 17, 2010 -> 04:28 PM) BTW, Nix should get more ABs in the remaining months to see if he can even be in the plans for this organization in the future. He's just a waste right now. He seems to be in the dog house for some mysterious reason. Maybe a 43 year old non-hitting utility infielder is our future?
  8. Maybe we can sigh the Toxic Avenger and he can roll up Randy Williams into the game ball.
  9. Wow. What the hell happened to this organization?
  10. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 17, 2010 -> 03:31 PM) Vizquel hitting 2nd tonight. He is always a threat to weakly ground out to 2nd.
  11. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 17, 2010 -> 02:44 PM) Ron Washington actually did it 6 times last year, this is Omar's 4th go in the 2 hole this year. Oh. Another master Xs and Os guy.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ May 17, 2010 -> 02:43 PM) It's awesome that Beckham will sit against one of the more hittable pitchers in the AL, and then will be in the line-up tomorrow against Verlander. To be fair, he's seen a lot of hittable pitchers to date and has nothing to show for it.
  13. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 17, 2010 -> 02:42 PM) This is a taste of your everyday 2nd base situation if they send down Beckham. Ozzie will insert him, and bat him 2nd. Which other manager in baseball would bat him 2nd?
  14. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 17, 2010 -> 02:40 PM) I was trying to be an ass Mr. Sqwert. You just hate me because I'm a good cook.
  15. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 17, 2010 -> 02:39 PM) Why are you asking me? If I had a choice, he wouldn't even see my lineup. It was a rhetorical question.
  16. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 17, 2010 -> 02:37 PM) Hey.. at least he is playing the field! Ozzie wasn't kidding on giving him alot of at-bats this season. Why the heck would he bat 2nd? If you insist on putting him in your lineup then bury him at the bottom.
  17. Pierre LF Vizquel 2B?!? Jones RF Konerko 1B Rios CF Pierzynski C Quentin DH Teahen 3B Ramirez SS
  18. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ May 17, 2010 -> 01:06 PM) its sad that im excited about the Sox trading AJ in May and maybe moving Flowers up to be a full time catcher. For real. And as much as I complain about him, he will go down as one of my favorite Sox players of all time. I just think it's time to move on.
  19. QUOTE (knightni @ May 13, 2010 -> 05:58 PM) So, you're saying, left, left, left, mighty blow, mighty blow, right hook, right hook and he's down for the count? No. It would take much less for him to get hurt.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 17, 2010 -> 12:56 PM) Then your starting and backup catchers both hit RH Who cares?
  21. BigSqwert

    Nuts

QUOTE (JPN366 @ May 17, 2010 -> 12:05 PM) You forgot to list "Deez." There's an "Other" option to vote on.

    QUOTE (JPN366 @ May 17, 2010 -> 12:20 PM) I have a dog named Pete. Perhaps they're related.
  23. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 17, 2010 -> 12:20 PM) I hope she's an ultra leftist. I don't think she is, but it would be a nice surprise if she was. Not a chance. What has Obama done that would be considered ultra leftist? (Only moderates can respond to that )
