  1. If you really love your girlfriend you should consider constructing a dungeon in your basement and locking her in there after Valentine's dinner. That way you'll always be near each other. In order to make her feel more at ease with this I would also purchase a leather mask like this one and a voice changer device and use them whenever you go down to visit her. You don't want her to think you're completely obsessed with her. Make her guess at who it is whenever you go down to the dungeon.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 4, 2009 -> 02:09 PM) Christian Bale was in the right. He handled it like a dickweed. He could have walked over to the director and said "fire that idiot" and it would have happened.
  3. QUOTE (Texsox @ Feb 4, 2009 -> 12:45 PM) Newt was the only one I could remember, mostly because I place him in my top 5 most intelligent elected officials of my lifetime. I forgot about the Tip'ster You talking about the same Newt Gingrich that I'm thinking?
  4. But I thought trying to be more green in the business world is cost prohibitive??? Being green will hurt American business!! /snark LINK
  5. Sheesh. They even titled a book about this hoax.

  7. But if Geithner and Daschle sport a 'support the troops' magnet that was made in China will that equal things out?
  8. Yikes. Apparently I need to work on my routine. So a priest, a rabbi, and Rod Blagojevich walk into a bar....
  9. QUOTE (lostfan @ Feb 4, 2009 -> 09:26 AM) Is that review for real? Just skimming some of the reviews on that site is gut-busting funny. Check out GTAIV and MGS4.
  10. QUOTE (lostfan @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 04:28 PM) In the Blagojevich sense? Not even remotely close IMO. Some commentary on the issue. LINK
  11. Mel is getting funnier as the series goes on. I want more Mel.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 08:05 PM) Confidence brought us Lehman and Bear. I'd rather have them in business, than bankrupt. No or limited regulation helped bring us where we are. I'm ok with corporate accountability.
  13. QUOTE (sircaffey @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 04:30 PM) 1927 Yankees. Yeah but before 1938 baseball fields were comprised of a mixture of sand and pebbles. Speed was irrelevant in the make up of a team.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 2, 2009 -> 08:44 PM) Judd Gregg, R-NH is now the official nominee for the Commerce department job. This is happening despite the fact that the Democratic governor of NH has promised to place a Republican in that chair, rather than a Democrat. Gregg will be the 3rd Republican in Obama's cabinet, the most members of the opposing party in any President's cabinet since FDR. In response to yet another act of Bipartisanship, the Republicans found a way to change a few of their votes on other bills so that they could say they'd given a negative number of votes to the stimulus package. Isn't that considered making a deal for a Senate seat?
  15. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 03:13 PM) Relevance? Point? Perhaps they want the economy to fail now so that they could stay relevant.
  16. I hope they consider Howard Dean to replace Daschle. He seems to have gotten the shaft in all of this.
  17. I hate that one of my coworkers sounds like he drinks a gallon of milk right before he comes to my desk. Must be the most phlegmy person in the world.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 01:30 PM) -Revoke Sarbane's Oxley. It has caused more problems that it has solved. It wouldn't have prevented Enron or Worldcom, and it hasn't stopped fraud from happening. All it has done is added an expensive layer of compliance to each companies statements, which is wasted money. It helped bolster confidence in the financial markets after repeated fraud at companies like the ones you mention.
  19. QUOTE (BearSox @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 01:24 PM) The only ways I see this is happening is the following: 1.) We are planning on trading one of Dye, Konerko, Thome (unlikely, but the most likely of all the scenarios I see) 2.) We plan on playing Abreu in CF (highly unlikely, maybe when he was younger) 3.) We plan on moving Konerko to 3B and Abreu/Dye to 1B (extremely unlikely considering how we signed Vicindi and with all the high praises for Fields) Odds are that this is BS anyway. #2 and #3 are laughable and have zero chance of occurring IMO.
  20. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 12:53 PM) So... your solution to the economy is to hire Joe the Plumber, and do nothing else? Sounds like the current GOP plan.
  21. Am I the only one that thinks stimulus = spending? Is stimulus supposed to be a savings plan?
  22. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 09:51 AM) Abreu is both a veteran and a good friend of Ozzie's. He will remain in RF no matter what. Yippee
