  5. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Feb 11, 2009 -> 04:56 PM) Never. Ever. Agree. With. Barney. Frank. There is a difference between "doing the right thing" and getting a base payout, and expected (part of normal compensation) bonuses. When a bonus is a part of "normal" compensation, it's no longer a bonus. You have to exceed performance and financial targets to recieve a bonus, IMO. Well aren't the CEOs of the bailout firms in charge of companies that failed miserably? How could they have exceeded any performance and/or financial targets seeing that the government had to help all of them out?
  6. Sometime I agree with Barney Frank.
  7. QUOTE (flavum @ Feb 11, 2009 -> 03:49 PM) If they're clearing #1 for Obama... I will actually jump off a high rise onto Lake Shore Drive if that happens.
  8. Why the heck is high fructose corn syrup an ingredient for Wheat Thins? Is it really necessary?

  10. I enjoyed the Jim Gaffigan cameo this week.
  11. Can I refer to him as the Cantoracle because of his blatant hypocrisy?
  12. QUOTE (Disco72 @ Feb 11, 2009 -> 09:34 AM) I think it reached that status several seasons ago when it went from "interesting" to "unwatchable." It's like watching a car wreck for me. I can't look away.
  13. Huh? I thought part of the money was to create jobs so that work can get done.

  17. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 04:09 PM) The problem is MOST AMERICANS DO NOT WANT THIS BILL! What a f***ing shocker, eh? What are you basing this on? http://www.gallup.com/poll/114184/Public-S...-Unchanged.aspx
  18. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 03:57 PM) How many hundreds of thousands of businesses are there out there? Are you going to block every one as they hit you? I wouldn't want to waste that much of my time. if you have a full-on opt-out feature, then it has become no different than email anyway, so what was the point? The easy way to get rid of junk mail, is to get rid of junk mail - not give it a new path to follow. The program is closed circuit. You can't have a business make up thousands of fake addresses to send from like you can for email.
  19. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 03:54 PM) Better solution - a Do-Not-Mail list, like the Do-Not-Call list. There are services already in place for targeting mass junk-mailers.
  20. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 03:53 PM) The few and very rare circumstances where I'd need to get information to a bunch of neighbors quickly (like a lost pet), is far, far, far outweighed by the ridiculous amount of spam that we will get on here. This explanation, from the site itself, is trying to make you feel better. Its a spam terminal waiting to happen. But you will know the exact address of the source of the spam....and can then block that physical address. You will see the 'spam' pretty much like a .pdf of an actual piece of junk mail. Seems like an easier way to get rid of junk mail then the paper version.
  21. So 2 wrongs make a right?
  22. more info I guess I'm intrigued because I'm all for having a paperless environment.
