QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 15, 2008 -> 09:55 AM) From that link: "McCain had no trouble fraternizing with ACORN in 2006 when their political interests coincided with his." Just shows that as usual, McCain is willing to reach across the aisle in a non partisian way and work with those on the other side for a common goal. But since he has closer ties to ACORN and there are instances of reported voter registration fraud then I must assume that the McCain camp is somehow involved. It's similar to the Obama Ayers connection. Obama must be a terrorist so McCain must be supporting voter fraud. -

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 15, 2008 -> 09:44 AM) Yeah, the Mickey Mouse ones are stupid, but how about John Jones? Or Mary Smith? Or any of the other thousands of made up names that have been registered? If they are not checking ID's or verifying in any way, anyone could vote for any of the fictious names that are registered. They could even TRY and vote for Mickey Mouse, and if there is no ID law present, how can the officials really stop them? Then you must be right. Something must be done to stop McCain and his close ties to ACORN. We cannot let them steal this election. -

Voter registration fraud does not equal actual vote fraud. There's a HUGE distinction. -

FYI - If you register Mickey Mouse to vote that does not mean that a candidate will get a vote on election day from Mickey Mouse. -
Media Bias: Perceived or Real? To what extent, and where?

I'll be pissed if Shane doesn't get capped at some point this season. I'm not sure if I'd rather see Tavon kill him or Ronnie.

I just don't see what the McCain camp has done to close the gap in the polls. - He's already pulled out of Michigan and is being being outspent by wide margins in other battleground states. - Both he and Palin are visiting states that typically vote Republican. - Independents are shifting towards Obama. - He is polling poorly on the economy. - His ads are 100% negative. - It's a "change" election. I guess I'm struggling to see where all of a sudden everything completely turns around for him. -

Not sure where else to post this but I think this is pretty neat. -

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 14, 2008 -> 03:25 PM) This Prez race is not over by a long shot. I wouldn't say it's over but barring another terrorist attack I don't see anything that would shift the current dynamic. -
Going to get some popcorn ready for tonight's Shield episode. The season keeps getting better each week.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 14, 2008 -> 11:34 AM) 4) We have recent examples of success with Damaso Marte (until 05), Alexei Ramirez, Jose Contreras, El Duque, Luis Vizcaino, Ordonez, Carlos Lee, Jose Valentin, etc....going all the way back in history to Minoso and Aparicio. Carlos Quentin sort of counts, lol. And Borchard's family spoke Spanish. And don't forget Josh Fields enjoys enchiladas.

Palin, who refuses to give a press conference, accuses the MSM on Limbaugh of trying to "shut me up."

You guys seem to hate this country so much. Perhaps you should consider moving elsewhere.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Oct 13, 2008 -> 03:31 PM) I don't really think it should be a holiday. I get up a 1/2 hour earlier and vote in the morning, worst case scenario if I was a little late because the polls were busy my boss wouldn't give me s*** So your reasoning is that since your boss and your specific schedule allowed for relative ease to vote, no one should get the full day or half a day off to do the same?

QUOTE (Soxy @ Oct 13, 2008 -> 02:44 PM) My mom works for the state and gets election day off so she can vote early and often. Heh

QUOTE (Cknolls @ Oct 13, 2008 -> 01:34 PM) I sense sarcasm. Including early voting, how many days do voters have to cast a ballot? Seems like plenty of time to make a choice. This will be the first time residents of Cleveland and the rest of Ohio have an opportunity to vote early. So up until now they never really had "plenty of time" to make a choice. -
QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 13, 2008 -> 10:41 AM) Heh. Right now you are in Phase 1 of a "The Happening" viewer. A feeling of disgust. A feeling you lost 2 hours of your life. Phase 2 is more contemplative. Questions arise. You start to replay it in your head. Mark Wahlberg talking like a 14 year old with his balls in a vice. The man with his arm ripped off by the lion. The scene where the kids are shot. You start laughing hysterically. Phase 3. Acceptance. YOu realize, that in some strange way, this trainwreck of a movie was more interesting in its awful execution than previous given credit. Behold, M. Night Shamylan, the 21st century Ed Wood. It didn't help that every time Wahlberg was on screen I was waiting for him to talk to animals.

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 13, 2008 -> 09:43 AM) LOL, that whole video is priceless. "Few people know that community organizing is actually training to overthrow the government. I mean here he was, in NY making 50-60 thousand a year, and he comes to Chicago to make little? Hard to believe, I think New York he probably met Bill Ayers who convinced him to come to Chicago, and then Obama trained under Bill Ayers while there" hahahaha. What's funnier than this, is Hannity calls himself a journalist. My friend, I do not think that word means what you think it means. That man is slime.

Watched "The Happening" last night. As brutal as everyone said. I was hoping with the terribly low expectations going in that maybe I'd kind of enjoy it. What a waste of time.
