QUOTE(rudylaw @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) I think it is funny that churches are so scared for people to see this movie. Some countries are banning the movie all together. I heard someone this morning saying that the reason churches are so mad is that Dan Brown portrays the book as facts and history but there is no real proof. To that I say what is the proof that any thing in the bible is true. The counter-books of the DaVinci codes don't just continuously reference the Bible. You should really take the time to watch the various specials they have on the historical analysis of the book and you'll find the faults. But then again you probably don't believe anything you see on tv either.

Hand scooped has SO Many more options for flavors. Soft serve tries to play up the healthy wave, but we eat ice cream because it's not

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Mar 18, 2006 -> 10:21 PM) Hi. Short end of the story is this: my girlfriend and I broke up. She left me. There wasn't anything wrong with the relationship. I'd rather not go into the circumstances, but she and I were a wonderful couple. Largely, the break came out of fear of committment, and that's as far as I'd like to go with that. It broke my heart. It was a month ago. Since then, I've tried to move on with my life. Today, I went on a date with a girl and had a splendid time. Part of me, however, feels down because if it were up to me, I'd have been with my ex. I wasn't thinking that at the time -- no way! -- but now, after the date, there's a small sadness in me. A bit of regret. And, let me just say, that I'm known to understate. How long will it take for me to stop caring about her and missing her? Has anyone here ever lost a love and to some extent regretted it for the rest of their lives, or did you get over it? Been there, you get over it. Friends and family are life savers. Time heals all wounds. If it helps, try and think of all the stuff that drove you nuts about her. No relationship or person is perfect..find the faults and hopfully find yourself feeling better. If it's committment issues, never know what her thoughts will be down the road if you run into each other Some people need to grow up before they think about growing old with someone.

So I have to fill out my bracket for selecting teams for work bets and was wondering if anyone had any obvious teams of who not to pick. I basically went through and selected based on past history, good team colors, and probably things that have nothing to do with winning. Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on a teams with a fat chance of getting past round 1..or perhaps destined to get to the final 4. Thanks for your thoughts

A Google Earth/U.S. Cellular Field Experiment

Please just say this was at least done at work where you got paid to be this bored, or maybe if you're in school still a lab session that was equally as boring?? -
QUOTE(Soxrock200 @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 07:36 PM) Of course, what did the rest of yall think, people who haven't joined the thread yet Pods for sure. I recall jumping up and down and using my high girly pitched scream for that homer. Very unpredictable, therfore very cool

QUOTE(joemg311 @ Feb 15, 2006 -> 01:26 PM) My best friend dated some girl for about 3 weeks when he accidently said "goodnight love ya babe" via text message. Her response was "wait what you love me" he isnt the most experianced and quickest thinking of guys and instead of explaining he was just being cute he panicked and said something like uhh uhhh maybe yeah i dunno i think so. Well this started a chain reaction of awkard get togethers and conversations ending in her breaking up with him a few days later via MYSPACE. and its not like they are 14 or 15 they are both 19 years old. He still gets some hell about this from his buddys but diservingly so. oh and we make fun of her all the time for using myspace as a break up tool. thats just so lame. That's pretty damn funny. It becomes too easy and fast to type/text stuff all the time. Send something too fast and then it's too late

This may ruin the point of the question, but I don't think it's so much the amount that matters, it's how much you mean it. To say it just to say it daily is one thing, but to tell someone you "love them to death" and then the next week say "well maybe not" kind of takes away the impact. Just an example of course, and kind of extreme..but you get the point

It would be funnier if it was an older brother/sister doing the pranking because that's what they do best, but it's still funny as hell and I haven't laughed outloud at the computer in a while

QUOTE(Soxy @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 10:51 AM) I liked the FedEx and Magic Fridge ones the best. My thoughts exactly. The Bud light with the guy that steals his friend's beer was a close 3rd. At least there was beer at the party I was at to get through the 2nd half of commercials, and the game for that matter. Was it just me or did most of the funny commercials happen in the 1st 2 quaters??

I've never really had any good presents for Valentine's day mostly because my past boyfriend was not all about dinner, presents, or really celebrating the holiday. I'm not rubbing it into anyone that won't be celebrating but feel free to share any sappy, funny, or embarassing Valentine's day stories about gifts.

There wasn't much thought put into my name, at least not as much as other people tended to put in. It was about a 30 second decision. 1. Everyone else seemed to have "sox" in their name. 2. I wanted people to know I was female, hence the "girl" 3. I guess I was feeling good about myself that day so I threw the "Foxy" on

Even though I don't personally like her anymore, to get someone like Britney Spears when she was at her prime he should still be thanking God everyday he could snag someone like her.

The next time she's in the car with him she should point out the Juvie center if she keeps up her alcohol support.

QUOTE(SoCalSouthSider59 @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 11:30 PM) I have a similar dilemma FSG, only it's with a girlfriend from more than 30 years ago that i've reastablished contact with the past 3 months........Should i bring the condoms? Or cookies? Bring both, although I suggest eating the cookies 2nd in case they're not up to par. Then at least you've gotten the good stuff 1st.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/11/28/...in1080952.shtml Why does a show about the 2 most annoying rich people continue to get put on the air?? I understand to some their relatively good looking so maybe using the mute button is an option most people take??

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 10:31 PM) I need a present for a 10 yeal old boy, if anyone has any ideas. Even though video games seem to be pretty dominant now, try getting someting to support an actual real sport. (Like a nice bat, glove, ball, cheap tennis racket). Parents have to buy it anyway if their kid is into it, so might as well support something he likes!

QUOTE(Soxy @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 10:32 PM) Bake him some cookies. Or condoms, really you can't go wrong there. . . Although, and this might hint to my cheapness/general apathy towards relationships, I would probably never get someone a gift after only a month and I'd feel super uncomfortable if I received a gift under those conditions. (note: I'm a girl, so take that for what it's worth) Guys should be bringing the condoms anyhow I am not the kind of person either to get someone a gift after a month, but he seems like the type that would buy it to just be nice so I need to be preparred with something if I feel a present coming on. Maybe I'll do a combination of cookies + cool dvd because he does love his movie collection.

This was finally going to be the 1st Christmas in forever that I didn't have to buy a guy a nice present. But here I am, and I know there's way more guys on this chat board then in my daily life. What's a good really generic guy present fo someone you've only known like a month? Something that says, "We're friends, don't push it, but I like you so here's a gift." Any serious or non-serious ones welcome. He's got a good sense of humor so either might work!

Cheating definitely, because while they could just break up with you and just be honest they need to be greedy and be with more than one person and rub in the pain. Apathy a very close 2nd...it sucks to know they don't care or at least put on a hell of show to act like it. Live and learn and weed out the crappy ones

I've only tried shopping after Thanksgiving once to get it out of my system and I vowed to never do it again. The sales aren't that fantastic to make me wait in line that long with that many people.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) I pray there are more men like him out there. At 15 he was more a man than most guys in their 20s when it comes to taking responsibility. All too many would have cut and run. Too many cut and run or stay and hide and don't do crap, so huge round of appluase from me to Terrell

QUOTE(Mercy! @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 10:15 PM) To add to the suggestions, if it’s just the glass pot that’s stained, you can use maybe a half cup of bleach and fill it up with water. Come back in a few minutes and your pot should be sparkling. Rinse well. If it’s the electric brewing thingee you’re trying to clean, after you follow Jim’s advice, I’d follow it up with at least a couple of pots of plain water through the brew cycle. If you don't, you may find that first pot or so of coffee really does have a “kick ass” flavor. And not in a good kind of way. Good luck. Good call on the multiple runnings of water...that could have been an unpleasant start to the morning!

Sweet...I'll try them both out and will have some kick ass tasting coffee for work in the morning! Thanks

This should be a short thread but does anyone know how to clean a coffee pot with a vinegar solution? I tried to google it, like any other normal person would do, and came up short. There's always the suggestion on the coffee maker to "clean with vinegar" but how much? 1/2 vingegar 1/2 water? anyone got any suggestions cause the manual is nowhere to be found?
