  1. QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 9, 2009 -> 02:35 PM) That Orwellian manipulation of language is really clever. Put together with certain half-truths and blatantly untrue things being repeated over and over until they are accepted as true and you have a really difficult time arguing. sounds more SEIU tactics to me. i hope this doesn't qualify me for "he attacked America!" retaliation.
  2. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 9, 2009 -> 02:05 PM) Republicans are american. acutally, one of the SEIU attackers defended his assault on some lone proester yelling "he attacked America!" lol
  3. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Aug 9, 2009 -> 09:18 AM) I wouldn't put it past Andy Stern and SEIu to make the calls themselves. They would definitely do something like that. They got busted attacking people; all recorded for everyone to see... what to do? of course, try and make your organization look like the victim. pathetic SEIU tactics.
  4. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 8, 2009 -> 10:58 AM) Anyone want to buy an autographed XBox? http://74.125.47.132/search?q=cache:b5aqr9...=clnk&gl=us
  5. QUOTE (Cknolls @ Aug 8, 2009 -> 09:12 AM) http://hotair.com/archives/2009/08/07/vide...nents-straight/ Obama is an idiot for calling out his SEIU union goons to attack people. Good to see the thugs being arrested at the end of the video.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 7, 2009 -> 10:14 PM) Seriously, I want to start up my own death panel. Sounds kinda renegade. lol
  7. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 7, 2009 -> 12:51 PM) I'm predicting a perfect game....for Beckham. 6 for 6 with 6 grand slams. He will also catch all 27 outs as line drives to 3rd. be realistic for once. 24 catches for outs at 3rd. the rest is fine.
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 7, 2009 -> 06:32 PM) . Again, FWIW, they specifically said to stay civil and not be disruptive and violent. But not everyone bothers to heed that. True. Kind of like Glenn Beck and his disclaimer: "now don't go do anything crazy". But Glenn Beck is a known loony toon, why would the white house lower itself to this type of stuff? This isn't a winning strat for the Democrats. This is playing into the far right's hand. They want a confrontation; they want to shoot a union guy in the head as he rages and attacks a protestor. In certain parts of the country the shooter might not even be convicted of anything. This type of situation is the far right wing's dream come true.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 7, 2009 -> 05:39 PM) There was totally over the top stuff from the Dems when Bush was in power, even IIRC Durbin broke Godwin's Law on the Floor of the Senate. Maybe I'm wrong though, but I think somehow this seems different. When Answer rallies pulled together a million anti-war protesters, you really didn't feel like it was going to turn violent. At the RNC in 2004, maybe some of the anarchists turned violent, but it certainly seemed like things stayed under control, with mostly yelling rather than battles in the streets. (A lot of people just standing around got jailed, that probably played in to things too). Really though there seems to be this current of gun-toting serious anger that is permeating these folks. This non-citizen born in Kenya wants to euthanize your grandmother right after he takes away your guns. I mean, Glenn Beck literally last week took a moment to point out that he's not advocating violence. Usually...you only have to do that if what you're saying can be construed as advocating violence. Again, maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think that the current "Right wing rage" ends well. meh, I don't see the Beck being any more over the top than Olbermann was. I don't see the fringe on the right saying anything more outrageous than was said by the fringe left over the years. "caused the 9-11 attacks" "is as bad as Hitler" "created the aids virus"... some serious rage and paranoia there. That stuff actually set the precedent for what’s going on now IMO.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 7, 2009 -> 05:27 PM) The left, FWIW, is insisting that it was the 912 project-ers who were out of line and who were the ones who raised the bar. i don't know what a 912 projecter is. i do know the Dems put out the word calling for a confrontation at these events. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0809/...l#ixzz0NXcobUg4 “If you get hit, we will punch back twice as hard,” Messina said, according to an official who attended the meeting. this is the first year into Obama's presidency. this is going to get worse. the dems already started literally punching in respose to town hall interruptions. this is just asking for bad news. i don't think far right wing guys are going to be backing down or running scared from the far left.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 7, 2009 -> 05:19 PM) If that's all that happens here, then you're right. Although, it's interesting how willing the leaders of the party (Limbaugh, Boehner, Savage, Beck) have been to go along with the Obama is a Nazi stuff. Frankly though, I really think I'll be surprised if this ends in just a handful of arrests. You've got the entire party's set of mouthpieces screaming to anyone who will listen that Obama is going to euthanize your parents and he's preparing his own final solution. Literally. And he's going to take away your guns too. How do you react to that? Rhetorical 'how do I react' or am I supposed to be putting myself in the shoes of an obsessed Obama hater? There is going to be over the top stuff said by the far reaches of either party out of power. It's just a current political reality. The Dems were completely over the top when Bush was president. Some congressman was screaming about how Bush sends troops to Iraq just to watch them die for his amusement on the house floor. The Dems kind of started this idiotic precedent, now the far right followers are doing the same thing. Don’t take that as a “it’s ok they did it”. It’s equally bad for both, but nothing new.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 7, 2009 -> 04:49 PM) Although...the guys who are starting to twitter about bringing guns to the townhall meetings to teach SEIU a thing about the 2nd amendment... i can actually see that happening. the SEIU goons attacking people has raised the bar. i wouldn't be surprised to see some far right wing loon raise the bar another level.
  13. you guys are going to have to accept the fact that the Dems are going to get the GW Bush treatment as far as over the top protest signs and stuff. having a "GW BUSH = HITLER" or "OBAMA = STALIN" sign should bring a certain level of ridicule, not a government directed beating.
  14. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Aug 7, 2009 -> 12:43 PM) http://www.politico.com/blogs/glennthrush/...protester_.html Like the guy who showed up to a protest at a Congressman's office with said Congressman hung in effigy? like the billion effigies of GW bush hanging? or sarah palin.. or cheney.... if you are in politics making controversial decisions you are going to have protestors doing this stuff.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 7, 2009 -> 12:18 PM) It's interesting how I've read the exact opposite interpretation of those events at the same spot. The doors get closed because of fire codes, and the people outside get rowdy, start banging on windows, forced backwards by security, etc. Just to point out; there's multiple ways of seeing how that sort of mess went down. Especially when people from both sides are now going to these expecting a fight. someone recorded the dust-up and put it on youtube. you can clearly see some goon rush and attack a protestor. it was obvious whom started a physical confrontation. after they got attacked, they kept chanting and pounded on the door a couple times. the protestors are loud and obnoxious, but maybe the Dems shouldn't use a 'town hall' format on something this controversial.
  16. QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 7, 2009 -> 11:55 AM) These town hall meetings are getting stupid. Do these people know how they look? If you want people to agree with your point of view, you have to convince them on their turf, using language they understand. If you think saying the same thing louder and ruder will help, it doesn't, and nobody listens to you. The response is for them to do the same back and then you both look like flaming idiots. There is a big difference to protesting and using violence. I understand Dem loyalists do not like when Democrat leaders are ridiculed, talked harshly to, or when a chant breaks out that is not “No Blood For Oil”; but this is no excuse to resort to violently attack people. Shameful. These Democrat goons look much worse than any town hall dissenter.
  17. Democrat goons attack those whom do not agree with their policies http://www2.tbo.com/content/2009/aug/06/pr...lth/news-metro/ Video of union thugs video taping protestors for later retribution. They also attack the protestors; yet the proud citizens were not deterred or afraid of the goons and continued to chant "Hear our voice" even as the goons attacked.
  18. QUOTE (Tex @ Aug 6, 2009 -> 05:09 PM) Exactly, the Palin phenomenon is so much bigger than one person and is universal. You can participate by thread jacking! See how open Palin 2012 is?! It is an amazing paradox, it's not just about Palin, but it's all in her name! It's cosmic man. A beautiful thing. Palinista!
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 08:14 PM) wtf are they playing in a junk yard? sure looks like it
  20. QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 08:56 PM) 1-3 with a double. trade him. failed 2/3 times.
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 08:53 PM) For everyone saying if the White Sox made the playoffs, they would have no shot of winning anything, they took 3 of 4 from the Yankees and if they win tonight 4 of 5 from the Angels. I think they would have a chance, especially if Peavy can come back at full strength. i like our chances
  22. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 08:45 PM) That's a bit of a conservative statement, no? He's going to make Pete Rose and Ted Williams think twice about knowing how to hit. indeed
