QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 09:42 AM) Thank GOD the Mike North talk is over. Now we just need to get him off the Scores Sox show. Mike North would be a disaster IMO for doing game broadcasts. But I like him during his morning show.

Juan Pierre a Cub
QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 11:38 AM) Those 2 pitchers Pinto, Nolasco are very good pitching prospects I seen them both too many times this year. Pinto is a 22 year old lefty with some nasty stuff he was started in AAA this season and struggled he was promoted to soon but when he came back down to West Tenn the first week of May he was awesome the rest of the season he led the SL in K's per 9 innings at 11.62. Nolasco also has good stuff led the SL in K's with 173 he is only 23 and has never seen AAA ball yet. The 2 combined in the SL were 24-6 2.75 ERA and 301 K's. So this deal actually has the chance to be great for the Marlins We'll see if they ever make it AAA, let alone MLB. You're right though, it could work out well for the Marlins, but they gave up a proven MLB player for decent AA prospects.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 09:24 AM) BA ranked them 17th and 18th best prospects respectively in the southern league, which was loaded this year. Pinto and Nolasco just happened to be #2 and #3 in the league in ERA (2.71 and 2.89), both averaging a K/IP, and 1.22 WHIPs. And although they are both repeating after failed attempts in AAA, they are both age appropriate. Also on that BA ranking was Murton (12), Jenks (13), Broxton (14), and Hill (15). I still think the cubs got the better end of the deal. I'm glad the White Sox didn't trade for Pierre, but that doesn't mean he isn't a good leadoff hitter. Career BA of over .300 and a lot of speed is pretty good IMO. If they were proven AAA prospects or top 10 in the league I would probably have a different opinion on the trade. But obviously Pierre wasn't worth much to most MLB clubs, seeing that this was probably the best offer they recieved.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 09:16 AM) Who says these prospects arent much? Cubs fans seem to think that they are. cubs fans also thought Corery Patterson would be as good as Willie Mays.

Courtney Love Selling Kurt's Material
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 09:01 AM) Its just really a shame that Kris and Dave cannot own music that they made, thats just s***ty. And I know that they tried to work something out with her, then tried to go to court, and still nothing. they have no rights to any of the songs? i'm sure they wrote some melodies or something, sounds really unfair.

QUOTE(Pierzynski 12 @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 08:59 AM) Watch Pierre, will hit .260 like he did last season. he hit .276 with 57 stolen bases. He has a career BA of .305 but you're right, the cubs still suck.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 08:46 AM) Congrats to the Cubs, they have an impatient leadoff hitter, and a CF with no arm that gets bad reads in the OF lol sounds like scott podsednik and we all know what a bust he was

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 08:54 AM) Steal? The marlins got three young players for cheap, the cubs got a light hitting defensive liabiity for ONE year. Yea, steal. Those prospects aren't much. Pierre is a good leadoff hitter and the flubs were desperate for outfield help.
