QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 12:15 AM) I highly doubt they end up doing every damn team. It's already f***ing stupid, imagine how old it will be by the time they get to the 20th press conference. haha, yea it would. too bad we won't get to see what ESPN thinks the Pirates might be up to.

Wow, that is total BS. Does anyone know when they announce manager of the year? -

Why the Bears should take a shot at T.O.
mr_genius replied to GoRowand33's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I also think the Bears should give T.O. a shot. He needs to rehab his image and I would suspect that he might be on his best behavior with the Bears to just prove that the Eagles were the "jerks" and not him. He is a big game breaker and the Bears could really use a player with that type of ability. but then again, TO could end up being a complete disaster -
QUOTE(Mercy! @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 10:09 PM) Unless I'm mistaken (and I'll admit I could be ) the "real issue" is the discussion of various topics of interest to the people who post here. Care to try to do that? Or would you continue to like to make me your topic of conversation? I'm saying, I'm not interested in that. But if you choose to persist............ It seems as if you are the one trying to make yourself the topic of conversation. Just an observation.

Monday Nov 7th: Colts @ Patriots
mr_genius replied to greasywheels121's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I definately had the Colts in this one. I had the feeling Manning and Co. were ready for a big offensive showing against the Pats. -
QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 06:12 PM) Let's write a new law. How small of a bill should they prosecute? $20, $50, $100? Basically, as soon as you come up with a number, in theory, every tax payer could short their bill that amount. Multiply that by millions of tax payers, and you will have a better understanding why their isn't a minimum before prosecuting. Good point.

QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 05:20 PM) http://www.adnki.com/index_2Level.php?cat=....226404219&par= more at link view 27 minute documentary in english here http://www.rainews24.rai.it/ran24/inchiest...allujah_ING.wmv (Disturbing images) I watched it and I'm skeptical, you be the judge. I'm also very skeptical of these claims. If I had to take a "wild guess", I would say this is more of a political advertisement rather than unbiased, truthful documentary. I don't think the US military would need to or even want to use chemical weapons in Iraq. So many downsides to such use and little, if any, upside.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Nov 6, 2005 -> 12:01 AM) http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/europe/11/05...iots/index.html I love how the media is spinning this into the typical "frustration and rage" story. These Muslim immigrants show up in France with no skills and no education and they expect to be provided with everything and if they dont get everything they want then they burn the house down. i totally agree.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 09:09 PM) The point is, if you have Konerko back next season then you know you have that big HR/RBI guy in him at 1B next year. Then you can afford to take a chance with Frank at DH next year. RF will be a highlighted position if Konerko does not resign, Dye could very well move to 1B meaning you have to fill that RF spot which would be easier to fill than the 1B spot. If Konerko walks, KW then has to find a way to fill a major hole left behind by a 40HR/100RBI man and DH is a position that could possibly be filled by a newly acquired player who could put up more stable numbers than Frank Thomas, not to mention more stable health wise as well. I doubt Ken Williams will count on Thomas staying healthy for an entire season. Even if Konerko returns we will need some pop from the DH spot. If you add together Everetts and Thomas'05 numbers you will see the type of production we will need in 06' from our DH. That will not change even if we do sign Konerko. As I stated before, I don't think Dye will be our everyday firstbaseman. If Konerko does not sign I would expect Williams to explore trade options to pick up a first baseman.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 08:48 PM) The Sox will not give a new contract to Frank until they figure out what they're going to do with Konerko. Most everything this offseason is going to revolve around the DH/1B/RF spots. KW has to know what he has at 1B before he offers a new contract to a huge injury risk like Frank Thomas. Dye is signed for next year and it is highly unlikely he will be our everyday at 1B. RF doesn't seem to be a concern. 1B, is obviously up in the air... however I doubt it will have little to do with the re-signing of Frank Thomas. There is no way Frank is playing first and I doubt Frank will command the type of money that the Sox would only spend if they had a large payroll opening (aka, no Konerko). If Frank is back it would be as a DH, and probably a part-time DH at that.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 09:20 AM) It's going to be interesting to see what, if any changes are made to ticket sales for 06. I wonder if half price nights will still be offered. I wonder if you'll have to buy full season tix to get dibs at post season tix. I've been pondering the same questions. I hope they continue to have atleast one half price night a week. Also, it would be nice if they had the same post season ticket offers for people who purchase multiple game plans.

ESPN's rankings and experts are never wrong. Oh well, I guess second place is good enough.

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 12:25 AM) I do agree that we have a better shot of obtaining Pujols in a trade that giles in the FA market. Both are about slim and none.. With None winning the race by 3 lengths. the Cardinals would ask for way too much for Pujols, if they would deal him at all.
