Just reported on 670 the Score. Looks like Rex Grossman is officially out and demoted to #3 behind Griese and Orton. THANK YOU GOD.- Need some tech help
Dude, the absolute EASIEST thing you can do is download the DIVX player. When you try to play the file in there, it will tell you exactly which codecs you need, and either prompt you to download or write it down and do a google search and download said codec. EVERYTIME I have this issue, I use DIVX, and it solves my problem quickly and efficiently.- Bill Hall
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 09:54 AM) Dodgers fans seem to think that they are going to have to just give Furcal away because of his bad contract. I would think that KW should lowball and see if us picking up the contract is good enough, plus maybe a lower tier player. Would Garland for Furcal/Kershaw be out of the question?- Dick's Last Resort: what do you recommend?

Yeah, we stepped in that place, the guy I was with wanted to go there... I took one look at my wife and said, "I'll take care of it." What a f***ing dump, joke that was. A bunch of kids throwing toilet paper around and eating dogfood... I'll never step in there again. I convinced my friend (who for whatever reason ACTUALLY LIKES THE DUMP) to go down the road and we had a very solid dinner at PJ Clark's. Dick's Last Resort = stupid unless you're 12, I assume.- Happy birthday, Steff

A great bright spot on a struggling team. I hope this leads to other things.- Off-Season NHL Thread
QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 06:34 PM) no and no csn home games this year. that's just f***ing stupid. f*** bill wirtz and his 1950's ideals.- Off-Season NHL Thread
QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 07:27 PM) Now the real fun begins. well, soon anyway... Does anyone know if hawks road games on csn will be HD. I'd be really pissed if I couldnt watch any hawks in HD except the few on VS and nbc (and like the 4 home games wirtz allows on csn)- Cedric Benson and Rex Grossman both suck
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 02:43 PM) Brian Griese needs to be the QB and he is modestly better than Rex (who isn't?), but it won't change much. He makes a lot of mistakes too, which is why his career QB rating isn't higher when you consider how accurate a passer he is. Griese won't fix our old and bad o line, our black hole at tailback and wide receiver, Adam Archuleta sucking at life, or the fact we have 5/11 of our defensive starters hurt right now. This team just isn't that good right now, simple as that. QB ratings take into account completion %, and Griese's career 84.5 > Grossman's career 69.3 passer rating.- Cedric Benson and Rex Grossman both suck
QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 02:00 PM) And he will be replaced by a QB who will be about the same ranking in the league. It isn't like there is a huge difference. Yes, let's ignore Grossman's career 69.3 QB ratings vs. Brian Greise's career 84.5. IDENTICAL.- Great Falls White Sox
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 10:46 AM) Didnt BA call Poreda the most dominant arm from this years draft? Who cares what Brian Anderson thinks about our pitchers?- Three Sheets w/ Zane Lamprey
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 10:36 AM) Love that show. There is also a beer show on there called Beer Nutz that is good as well. I'm not a big fan of that show at all... I hate the hosts, they are tools. I do somewhat enjoy the wine program though.- Cedric Benson and Rex Grossman both suck
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 10:28 AM) The defensive line had about ONE good rush and it was the first series. From then on they couldnt generate a damn thing. Romo had all the time in the world to throw last night. Dude, what game were you watching? The Bears often had paws on Romo, who is one of the best QB's in the league at EVADING PRESSURE. I know we've all seen too much of Grossman and him falling to the ground anytime someone got near him, but Romo was freaking amazing last night, and was pressured many times and dodged in and out of arms grabbing at him to look up and dart a pass to TO for a 3rd and long first down. Tony Romo made me a believer last night for many reasons.- Three Sheets w/ Zane Lamprey
OK, I've been watching the program for quite some time now, and really think this show should have a thread dedicated to it to entice new viewers and for current viewers to talk about it. Zane Lamprey is a comedic genius in this program where he goes from city to city around the world getting, well, drunk. This program is not only educational, but also highly enjoyable for those who like the bar scene and those who do not. It exposes drinking cultures in cities all over the Globe (there have been about 12-14 shows already). If you have HD Programming, MOJO Network is most likely available for you to view. I encourage you to tune in. Because of this show, Food Network signed Lamprey up for a program entitled "Have Fork, Will Travel," which is basically a Three Sheets ripoff dealing with food instead of booze, normally in the same cities he does his Three Sheet program in... However, it's more reserved for a Food Network audience, and not nearly as funny. I highly encourage anyone who enjoys interesting, funny programs having to do with getting drunk and educated at the same time to tune into this program. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 10:13 AM) I caught this last night too, cool show. My wife is a chef, so the Food Network is on 24/7 at our house. My wife's not a chef, but she's a woman, so the Food Network is on 24/7 at our house. Thank God Comcast added Food Network HD last month, because that makes viewing these programs highly entertaining.- Dinner: Impossible at the Cell
Yeah, I saw this like 3 months ago. I hate the chef on it so don't regularly tune in, but did enjoy this episode for obvious reasons. It's cool the Sox opened up the doors and let him do it at the Cell.- Cedric Benson and Rex Grossman both suck
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 09:34 AM) The offensive and defensive line blew last night. Marc Columbo sure looked good for Big D last night...- Cedric Benson and Rex Grossman both suck
Arguing for Rex is a lost cause. I was one of his biggest backers for the longest time, but it's outwardly evident that he is not an NFL QB, and I will tell you why. 1) He cannot do anything when under pressure. As we all saw last night with Tony Romo, it is actually possible to create time and complete passes even when heavily rushed. Grossman's continued failure, whether it be because of bad coaching or what have you, to step up in the pocket or move around behind the line is crushing this team. Without PERFECT pass protection, Grossman not only fails to complete a pass, he also fails to even get a pass off. As you see this year with Schaub in Houston, this cannot be blamed on the offensive line. Once Houston got Carr out of there, all of the sudden the line got better? I don't think so, it's the indecision of the quarterback. 2) Grossman does not throw well over the middle. Though many would argue this is because of his 6'1" height, I'd beg to differ. I think Grossman throws to the sidelines early and often because of his biggest weekness, his failure to look to his 2nd/3rd/and sure as hell 4th options. The first option (unless he's throwing to his TE (where you see success) is always outside to either Muhammed or Berrian. This makes it rather simple for defenses to lock down. 50/50 either TRIPLE cover Berrian or Muhammed. Though the WR haven't been helping Grossman, the reason they ALWAYS seem covered is simple... he locks in on his targets and rarely completes a pass to a reciever he hadn't decided he was throwing to before the snap even left the center. (It was obvious that his two decent completions to Desmond Clark and Greg Olsen were only made possible because of the fact that they were his #1 targets on that play.) 3) Grossman has lost this team. It's hard for teammates to have confidence in you if you don't have confidence in yourself. This team, though they are saying all the right things, has grown tired of making excuses for Grossman. Olin Kreutz is always the first to take the blame (for botched snaps, for bad pass blocking) but it's all mostly Grossman's fault. I call for, and as a Bears fan, deserve, the Mr. 5 mill a year Brian Griese AT LEAST take some snaps with the first team offense this week. 50/50, and if Grossman struggles out of the box against a Lions team that gave up 56 to the Eagles this week (After facing San Diego, KC, and Dallas whom all have performed quite badly on defense this season), Griese goes in. I think that people underrate Griese (compare his career 84.5 passer ratings to tom brady's career 89+ passer rating). I'm not saying Griese = Brady, but he was impressive in his last starting opportunity with Tampa Bay before injury, and will do JUST FINE as a Bears starting QB. Make the move now, make the move forever, bid Grossman goobye at the end of the season. It's Griese time.- Official NFL Thread
QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 23, 2007 -> 10:33 PM) Really? I see Berrian getting seperation consistently, just a matter if he can hold onto the ball or not. Dude, he got separation 3 times tonight, and dropped the ball twice. f*** him. This is something that should have been addressed in the offseason... through Romo is the king of deflecting the pass rush, Rex could have had a comparable game had his receivers played the same way as Big D's. FYI, I don't think Rex is HALF the QB of Romo, tonight proved to me that Romo is here to stay. What a find for Dallas.- Official NFL Thread
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 23, 2007 -> 10:26 PM) I want to see Bradley starting out there and Benson getting 30 f***ing carries next week against the Pack (screw Adrian Peterson's horrid blocking self I want Benson Benson and more f***ing Benson). Two things... I couldn't agree more with both points... and also I am 100% certain NEITHER will happen anytime soon. This coaching regime has proven one thing over their time... they are f***ing stubborn. As for tonight, I'm all for benching Berrian. This WR corp is a joke and gets zero separation. I don't see how the coaching staff doesn't go two TE (the only two who manage to make a play) the rest of the year. Moose has lost a step, Berrian thinks is 2004 and drops are OK, and Bradley is the 4th WR on a team without any legitimate options. We're not as bad as we played tonight, but we made fools out of ourselves boys. Oh, and having 5 starters on defense (from TC break) out of the game is going to catch up to us... and it did. Rex... give me Greise.. his career 85 QB rating looks a lot better than Rex right now.- Cedric Benson and Rex Grossman both suck
