NFL Network: Griese in
QUOTE(thedoctor @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 12:57 PM) i'm not sure we have any evidence that suggests griese is a better qb right here and right now. his career passing numbers mean little or nothing as they relate to the situation he's facing at this point. now i agree that rex sucks, but what have we seen that proves griese is a better qb who gives the team a better chance to win? in his limited time last year he sucked. in his limited time this year he's sucked. it's been three years since he's even had a decent season so i'm not sure how you can definitively say he's the guy who gives us the best chance to win. frankly, i think all of our quarterbacks suck. which sucks. Um it was one game and Griese was more productive, albeit not that good, in that one game after a 2 season layoff than Grossman has been the last 10 weeks of football action going back to last year.

Does Comcast Chicago Carry TBS HD?
I just talked to Comcast, they said tomorrow (Wed) the channel will be added to the lineup (TBS HD)... he said it would be channel 219, but that seems off to me... so we'll see what happens.

Does Comcast Chicago Carry TBS HD?
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 07:03 PM) Supposedly, we were supposed to get TBSHD starting today. I guess not. Care to elaborate? I'd love to see that added ASAP.

NFL Network: Griese in
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 01:56 PM) Even the TD to Clark was a horrid pass. At least with Rex you are trying to develop a younger guy, Griese has been like this his whole career. 3-4 good passes and a pick. I bet you are still willing to call Rex a rookie because, well, he was really a rookie last year after 4 years it was his first season and this is really only a few games later and he's still adjusting and blah blah. rex sucks, deal with it. griese is a better QB, not a God, but a better QB, and he gives us the best chance to win.

Would the Mets deal Reyes?
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 10:44 AM) Wite, I am not sure if your new sig is more or less distrubing than pancakes-for-nipples man. I made them both... both are disturbing in their own right.

Video Game Catch-All Thread
I played Halo3 for the first time last night... It seems like Halo2 with new levels (online).. I wasn't very impressed at all (and yes, I played on an HDTV)... the graphics weren't much of an upgrade and I was still bored from Halo2.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 28, 2007 -> 01:22 PM) Kevin is the best character in the show. PB&J line was priceless I agree... every word out of Kevin's mouth is comedy gold.

If the Sox would have missed the playoffs in 2005 would you be calling
That's the dumbest question ever. If the twin towers hadn't been hit would we be in war? COME ON. we won the world series in 2005, I can't even begin to answer this stupid question, bc hypothetical or not, its just dumb.

The Office
It was ok... a lot of it was just downright dumb, but parts were quit laugh-worthy. I find it funny that dwight killed the cat.

Geez-us...pitcher Micah Owings is the S@#t
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 27, 2007 -> 02:55 PM) I didnt miss his ERA and WHIP though. If he can get around LH hitters and walk less guys, he could be a nice piece of the rotation. DUDE. He's a rookie with a 4.30 era and a 1.31 WHIP... cut the dude some slack!

Lance Broadway
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 28, 2007 -> 08:18 AM) Well I didn't see the start but it sounds like people are more encouraged by the stuff that they saw compared to just the results. I don't think anyone is convinced of anything with Lance but he's another guy you can throw into the 5th starter hat for next season. I too was happy to see him pitch well... it was a nice, encouraging reason to turn on this game in glorious HD. However, Broadway won't strike that many batters normally, that much I can promise you. I did LOVE how AJ handled the youngster... he will definitely be good for a staff of mostly youth next year. I can tell you one thing, I'd rather win 70 games next year with 4 youths in the rotation than win 81 with Garland and Contreras, neither gets you the playoffs, one develops the youngsters and gets you a high draft pick, the other leaves you in mediocrity Get a solid return for Garland, and get whatever chicken scraps you can for Contreras, and move on. If I have Buehrle, I'm happy.

Grade the Sox
Garland's 4.23 era makes me utterly shocked he's getting in the B's territory. He doesn't make the bank that he does to go out there and be 3 games under .500 with a 4.23. Oh yeah, FYI, he's under 100 k's on the entire season... (98) classic Jon.

Lance Broadway
QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 27, 2007 -> 09:59 PM) I'd like to see him after a month of starting before I totally believe. I think the Royals didn't have the book on him so, he surprised them. Hey look... a reality check. A late September 6 inning start against a bunch of player in last place is not going to make me a believer. Yes, it's encouraging, but no, I don't think Lance is the second coming, and I fear his production over 32 starts would be in the "UH OH" territory.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 27, 2007 -> 12:16 PM) Jim Thome an A?!?! How could you give him an A??? The same way he could give Jermaine Dye a B by following up a 44/120/1.007 season with a 28/77/.805 one...

Bill Wirtz Passes Away
QUOTE(29andPoplar @ Sep 27, 2007 -> 12:12 PM) If they can start winning, that's the best marketing. We can agree on that... the old man dying has created more buzz about Blackhawk hockey than anything else in the last three years.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 27, 2007 -> 12:00 PM) If NBC would somehow get rid of the incredibly unfunny 30Rock, Thursday nites could be the best night of TV ever. I can't wait for the new episodes of everything else, including the final season : of Scrubs. dude... 30 Rock is awesome, I don't know what you're talking about!

Bill Wirtz Passes Away
QUOTE(29andPoplar @ Sep 27, 2007 -> 09:56 AM) Their head of PR has been Tony Ohman and Jim DeMaria has been there for at least 20 years. The older lady is Barbara Davidson but she wasn't head of PR. Way to name names. DeMaria has very little to do with PR, and Ohman had nothing to do with it. Jim Blaney's the man in charge of that now... Ohman is basically the athlete "fluffer" and DeMaria shmoozes the big wigs around the NHL and some of the press. Aside from their titles not matching up, personal experience more than anything else can tell you they have nothing to do with true public relations. DeMaria throws out a few press releases now and then that should be re-written, but other than that, no.
