QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 01:47 AM) Bickell has not been playing up to that new contract at all. Gee. What a surprise. He's Bryan Bickell. Maybe he'll show up in the playoffs.

Weird, I tried a "trial" of Hulu Plus because our DVR got wonky for an episode of Modern Family. It was supposed to be two weeks. I just logged in to cancel and have it until 4/11. I am teh confused.

I'm 7 episodes into Black Orphan. It's amazing. No idea where the "slow episodes in the middle" comment came from - I feel like the foot's been on the gas all season.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 01:45 AM) Oh my god, that first episode of Workaholics this season. That f***ing show just kills me. Adam is one of the funniest characters on TV. When Colleen's water breaks in his face, holy s***. Yeah. Workaholics is amazing.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 28, 2014 -> 01:08 PM) Polar Vortex 2.0 in Chicago was much weaker than the original. It still sucks.

Great s***. Run Ronnie Run was a very underrated film, too.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 28, 2014 -> 03:03 PM) Freep Sports @freepsports 14m Former #Lions RB Jahvid Best filed a lawsuit today against the #NFL over his concussions. http://on.freep.com/1evzRxc This s*** is really stupid. You get paid more than 99% of the nation to get hit in the head.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 28, 2014 -> 02:25 PM) Pretty spot on article about Macklemore. Always fun when some s***brain tells me what is and what isn't good music.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 28, 2014 -> 01:16 PM) Just listened to ESPN Seattle guys interview Martellus Bennet. Great interview. Dude is quite funny. I'll post a link if they archive it. He's on for an hour every week with Boers & Bernstein. The Black Unicorn is indeed quite awesome.

QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 10:03 PM) But tik~tok spring training starts here soon. Seems like a few log jams in the roster? What am I missing? 4 starting outfielders- eaton, Garcia, viciedo and de Aza. What's going on here? 3 man rotation at 1b/dh- Dunn, konerko, Abreu 3b- Davidson, Gillespie and keplinger? Is Davidson going to AAA? Is De Aza really getting benched? Seems like a big contract for a 4th outfielder. Who is the starting 3b? Guessing Kepp is the utility IF since he can play all 4 infield positions? Sorry if this has been covered in other threads. Kind of checked out for a bit. Hi, Confused.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 04:43 PM) True, although in a way I think its the best awards show because you have something to watch. The mash-up performances can be great. Good Lord was Imagine Dragons / Kendrick Lamar f***ing awesome.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 27, 2014 -> 04:23 PM) I've heard The Heist at least 20 times all the way through. It's a fantastic album, one of the best in years. And it's 100% a rap album. I laugh at all the people who call it a pop album just because it got radio play. As if no one realizes Mack's story of being an independent rapper and that somehow this CD and his songs were pushed to the airwaves through a major label. You know you actually HAS a major label that pushes his songs to the radio? Kendrick Lamar. He is more inherently a pop artist if you are going to try and use that as a measuring stick. Exactly.
-
Has anyone here actually heard The Heist? I mean, Macklemore raps. It's a rap album. I guess you could consider it more of a hip hop album, but no more so than say MMLP2, which most people will call a rap album. The Heist was a brilliant album. I mean, Taylor Swift has won for country in the past - it's not what you think of when you think country. Deal with it - the genres are crossing more and more.

I was looking for some good Mr. Show s*** for Zoom since apparently he didn't know that Bob Odenkirk exists outside of Breaking Bad (how the?) and came across a best of Mr. Show on YouTube. Say goodbye to the next 30 minutes of your life.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 26, 2014 -> 12:06 AM) I finished season 5 of Breaking Bad last night. I'm into the final eight episodes. Holy hell, this show is good. Thanks for the head's up. I don't think anyone here knew that.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 09:19 AM) Almost and probable, but as I've said, GOAT players almost all had quality play well into their thirties. It is going to be the latter half that defines James.
-
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 09:15 AM) Fair enough, maybe KD is a stretch at this point but I think we can agree that James is almost a lock. He's definitely in consideration. Top 5 is almost an impossible conversation to have. Discussing Top 10 makes things a lot more fun.
-
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 08:55 AM) LeBron is already almost there, KD is only 25 and working on his 4th scoring title...it's not really out there to think they'll pass up more than a few NBA legends. But that would be all but three to meet your criteria. Top 5 all-time at this point is just a silly argument to make as a possibility for Kevin Durant.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 08:55 AM) Specifically that efficient was what I meant. I absolutely know Westbrook can drop 40 on a team when he's around...but can he put up those numbers on an efficient number of shots? He was 8th in the entire NBA in PER last season. He was 10th the season before. The season before that? 8th. Russell Westbrook is oh so much f***ing better than you give him credit for, dude.
-
QUOTE (Boogua @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 08:50 AM) This isn't really a "hype machine". Durant has a higher PER, better o-rating, d-rating, scores more points on similar efficiency, grabs more RPG, gets more steals and blocks, and averages less turnovers. Lebron seems to be coasting, but it isn't hard to make an argument for Durant being the best player in the league this year. This isn't 2011 Derrick Rose. Again, I think Lebron is still better and it will show in the playoffs (maybe not the finals), but people are just saying it really isn't that far off. Maybe Durant goes in a slump and Lebron goes on a streak and all this changes back to Lebron being clear number 1. Right now, though, Durant is playing right with Lebron as best player in the league. I think we're misunderstanding each other. Durant should clearly be the MVP this year, I was just saying that if I'm starting a team of real-life players right now, and I have LeBron and the other guy has Durant, then I'm in a better position. I believe LeBron is a better basketball player given all that he can do across all aspects of the game. I think anyone who argued against Durant being in the lead for the NBA MVP this season would be nuts. I never said otherwise.
