QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 08:57 AM) I helped push a lady who was stuck getting out of a parking lot on a side street yesterday. When she got unstuck, she drove right into a parked car. People are hilarious.

So I learned what an ice/frost quake is this morning. I thought for sure that a pipe burst.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 08:05 AM) I just parked my car at work, and begged it to start when I come back outside in 8 hours. Im not sure it will I had a similar thought process when I got here this morning.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 08:22 AM) Sucks that the Packers lost, but I think they played a pretty good game. They were right there with a great football team. Biggest problem for the Packers is staying healthy. I look at that 49ers team and they have all of their starters playing that they had in week 1. I am very jealous of that. No one here will feel bad for you.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 12:05 AM) That, or you weren't given the option of working from home/can't work from home with your job. Because I think if you were, you would have taken it. I completely understand not having people come in, especially if they have to walk for part of their commutes or wait for a bus/train and their job is something they can do from home. I think the loop will be a ghost town tomorrow, relatively speaking. I was kidding. That said, we were told we could stay home, but when you're management it's always a good idea to be there. I let my underlings work from home, though.

I'm going to work, but only because I'm a man with balls.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 5, 2014 -> 12:57 PM) She is incredible in that show. I often forget it's the same actor playing like 5 different people all at once. I've only seen the first episode (going to use it as a gym/tablet show), but yeah. Also, I was shocked when her German clone got shot in the head.

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 3, 2014 -> 04:15 PM) The only thing I know about folks employment from Facebook are those that ride the train or bus to work and teachers. Bus and train folks have free time to tell us that they are on said bus or train after a hard days work without going into specific detail while teachers feel the need to tell you how hard they work and how many days they will have off for a given break/holiday that is over due and all to short. Yeah - do I post about the new web page we launched today? NO. Because no one talks about their job on facebook but teachers who b**** about it.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 3, 2014 -> 01:11 PM) Just think...this could be the same weather the Super Bowl gets this year. Nuts.

I. F*cking. Hate. Teachers. On. Facebook. One of them just posted a link to an article that some Minnesota schools have canceled school for Monday already because of the expected temperature with the words "hint, hint Illinois!" holyf***ings*** First of all, they'll cancel school, but come on, she will have been off of work for SEVENTEEN straight days at that point. SEVENTEEN! Do you really need another?? Why are all these b****es so fat and lazy!?

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 3, 2014 -> 10:05 AM) Re: it being better on TV, I went to a Vikings/Bears game a couple years ago and sat behind one of the goal posts in the Metrodome. I think I saw more of the "game" from that angle than on TV. You can actually see what the coaches are trying to do and you can see entire plays develop. The broadcast angle limits so much of the view to where the ball is you miss a lot. But still, there's no way in hell i'd go to a game if it were 10 degrees, let alone -10. I think 30's would be my limit unless it was a superbowl and the Bears were assured of winning it. I went to a Bears/Falcons game on a Monday night (I think, maybe Sunday night) that was 7 degrees, windchill in the negatives. It was a f***ing blast. That said, I won't do it again!

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 11:46 PM) I just downloaded "Grid 2" on PS3 for free with PS+. Man, what a better game than I was expecting. I haven't played a racing game since....Need for Speed Underground 2 for PS2 I think. Grid 2 is deeper and more involved than I figured a FREE game would (Only free with PS+, though). I looked it up on IGN, and it actually did get an 8.0/8.2 rating, so others agree, I'm just surprised I had never heard of it. A decent amount of races take place in the streets of Chicago, which is cool, and despite giving you a REWIND clock to use, the game is rather difficult to master. All the cars are real, there are tons of real sponsors, and there are even billboards that say "ESPN" on them. One of the cooler aspects is the presentation that shows what people are tweeting about you, and people texting each other, and it shows multiple Youtube pages full of videos that fans took at these events. Easily for the free download if anyone needs a new game to play. http://www.ign.com/games/grid-2/xbox-360-82121 I'm glad you posted this. I'm having trouble pulling myself away from NBA 2k14, but it's always nice to have games in your back pocket.

Picked up a Jambox Mini yesterday. It is incredible.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 06:36 PM) For the three years I've been in the burbs I keep saying that I'm going to get one. And then the snow melts and I forget how much I hate shoveling and I put if off for a year. One of these days... Got home tonight and my wife and I were surprised to find our driveway cleared off. No idea who did it, but thanks rogue Snowblower Ferry! Weird that a boat would snowblow for you.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 12:18 PM) Probably a dumb question, but I assume a PS+ membership is valid across multiple consoles, right? Yeah - that's the point. I need PS+ to play online with PS4 (though I haven't taken Killzone or NBA 2k14 online just yet), so I took the plunge for $49.99 for the year. I've already been able to download Uncharted 3 ($39.99) and BioShock Infinite ($39.99), which I hadn't been able to play yet for PS3, as well as the surprisingly exceptional Resogun ($14.99) for PS4. PS+ was a very smart decision, and I still have 11+ months left of it.
