QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 12:41 PM) No it doesnt. When he averages less turnovers than 2 consensus top 10 shooting guards, it just shows you have no clue about college basketball stats. But hey, you wouldnt draft Olidapo or McLemore because they average over 2 turnovers a game, so they have "bad handles" Right?? I didn't equate the turnovers currently being made in the NCAA with bad handles. You made that association. Anyone who watches Hardaway Jr's awkward ass can tell he will be crushed at the next level. EDIT: And eat s***, dude. "I'm not sure you know who these players are". Everyone knows who they are - the f***ing tournament just f***ing ended. You think turning condescending wins this argument? It doesn't.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 12:37 PM) Getting pick pocketed? 6 turnovers in 6 games in the NCAA tournament, what were you watching? Seriously? In his career (averaging 30 minutes per game every year) he has never averaged above 2 turnovers a game? This is where your lack of knowledge regarding the league he'd be heading to hurts you.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 11:44 AM) Sometimes when I got the rare copy returned I'd hold it for one of the good customers I knew had been asking for it and call them to tell them to hurry and come get it. They loved that. I was the same way. It was a fun place to work during high school/college. I stole a lot, too.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 11:36 AM) They did the no-late fees thing a few months after I stopped working there. I wondered how they made money off that? Evidently, they didn't. They reason they charged late fees in the first place (or Extended Viewing Fees, giving it to the customer for another full rental period, another poorly marketed concept they didn't communicate well if at all) was because they couldn't make money off the copy the customer was holding if they had it another 4 days after they were supposed to bring it back. Especially with new releases, that movie was going to be rented out at least twice more in that period. I think the last thing they did a solid job marketing was the "return by noon" concept. A lot of customers were confused by this and I honestly felt if you didn't understand it, it wasn't Blockbuster's fault, you were just dumb. I had people cuss me out about changing the return time without their consent and one guy said it was 12 hours less and we were being deceptive. No, dips***, it would've been due "tomorrow by midnight" like it's been for the company's entire existence, but we gave you an extra 12 hours. You can still return it the following evening if you want but now you won't be late if you return it in the morning, and the store loses no money because the movie's not gonna be rented early in the morning anyway. Blockbuster customers were mostly idiots, in my experience.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 12:32 PM) you said he turns it over a lot, which is objectively false. You said that he thinks hes king s***, which not one article has ever suggested, but since its an opinion its subjectively false. You made 1 point about taking bad shots, which is technically true, but has really no impact on his NBA ceiling, because he plays in a system that is predicated on taking quick shots that arent always "good." But hey, you learned all of that after watching 2 games. I mean its clear you just dont like Hardaway because "he thinks hes king s*** because his dad is in the NBA." Ive actually never heard a person say anything close to resembling that about Hardaway. So please just quit pretending like you actually know something about this player. Ohhh sigh. I am not the only one with these opinions, but my apologies for chiming in on your precious sport. When he's getting his pocket picked and playing like s*** in the league, I won't expect you to admit you were wrong. You'll just come up with some bulls*** reasoning that shows you were right all along!

Please explain why I need a shovel? I'm not burying myself in the least. Hardaway cannot dribble and makes stupid decisions. It's pretty obvious.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 11:38 AM) Right because your opinion after watching him for 2 games is really something Id hang my hat on. Not 1 draft site talks about his "bad handles", everyone talks about his bad shooting, but you have to understand Michigan's system (most NBA fans dont watch a lot of college so they dont understand) is to take early fast shots, so he is supposed to jack them up. The "best" college player, Trey Burke, shoots a bunch of ridiculous shots for the same reason. But please enlighten us all. Im sure you are very familiar with Beilein. Dude, just because you watch a lot of s***ty college basketball doesn't make you an expert, either. Hardaway is a detriment the moment he puts the ball on the floor. Anyone who watches more than one game can see this. This is especially true of Hardaway. The shooting guard is excellent on catch-and-shoots (1.227 PPP), but his efficiency drops precipitously once he is forced to put the ball on the floor. Once Hardaway takes a dribble, his points per trip drop to just 0.711. Fly by on closeouts if that's what it takes, but make Hardaway do more than stand with his finger in the wind on the perimeter -- especially in the open floor. Eamonn Brennan has eyes. He'll be eaten alive at the next level, and the mere fact that he shares his father's name means he's going to spend 4 years hurting some team in the NBA. Hopefully, it won't be the Bulls.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 11:31 AM) Cause its not true. Steve has maybe seen Hardaway play 2-3 times. He admittedly doesnt watch college basketball. I saw how he looked against good competition all tournament long. He's a dumb player. But hey, it's not like the competition in the NBA is good or anything. The games you saw him play against your bunk-ass unathletic, no NBA prospects Wisconsin team aren't a true gauge of elite, next-level competition.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 11:27 AM) Serious Q: Can Thibs fix him? I think Thibs would just say "no thanks" when the idea of him was brought up. He'll wind up on the Nets or something and have a horrific PER.
-
QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 11:23 AM) Hardaway Jr. not having handles is kind of baffling considering his father's were pretty legendary. Yeah, he's just straight awkward out there. And soooooo stupid.
-
LOL at this Rotoworld headline. Noah, Deng, Gibson, Hamilton, Rose out Tues. 2012/13
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 11:19 AM) Not sure what this means? But he actually may be available for the Bulls as it stands. When forced to dribble the ball, he turns it over (bad handles) He puts up bad shots from bad locations and thinks he's king s*** because daddy was in the NBA (idiot). Post defined.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 11:06 AM) if they were as good at contract negotiations as they are at scouting they'd be f***ing golden. They really do pull some ridonk talent out of the end of the first round.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 11:12 AM) Neither have the guts to call Rose those names to his face. I'd certainly get on him about letting his team die on the court while he dunks and laughs and collects millions of dollars.
-
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 11:06 AM) lol, still a bit chippy over the "Rose wil defl return" fiasco, huh? I haven't been chippy about that at all, actually. It's over, and it was good for business.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 11:03 AM) Although I think Blockbuster shot themselves in the foot when they went to their "no late fees" program but then upped their rental prices. We stopped going there soon after that. Blockbuster made a lot of mistakes back-to-back. They were really humming along when their prices were reasonable and they had one-night rentals. Basically, you knew if you went to Blockbuster on Friday or Saturday night and hung around for 20 minutes, you'd land the new release. They over-stocked that s*** and always had the good stuff. Then enter the no late fees. First, people were confused. Trust me, I worked there and dealt with the patrons. They couldn't understand that if they kept the movies more than two weeks they'd be charged for it as if they bought it. I'd kindly explain - listen, you had the movie for 45 days, it's not a no-limits thing. It was just a dumbass concept. People will not return movies without some sort of reason to do so. So they crank up the fees to rent (from something reasonable like 1.99/2.49 for one night to 3.99, 4.99 even 5.49) and then deal with tons of customer service and return issues. And then, of course, bare shelves for all the best, new films (the only real reason to go to Blockbuster). Then add the absurdity of charging $11.99 for a 5-day video game rental? They took all their value and the reason for people to come to the stores and s*** all over it. Regardless of how many exclusive deals they made with different film studios to have the ability to rent before anyone else, it didn't matter, because the movies were rarely on the shelf. They just completely f***ed up, and also waited way too long to get their Blockbuster Online/In-Store program figured out - they resisted the new wave and thought raising prices was the answer to recouping lost traffic. Brilliant.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 11:01 AM) "Asking for permission" sounds creepy; it isn't theirs to give. I considered it more of a "respectful notification". I didn't ask, I told.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 10:55 AM) Is that what your sources told you You'd be totally and utterly wrong...again Well, the source was you. Move along - the conversation has evolved.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 10:30 AM) Yep, had the Bulls tanked theyd be looking at drafting a decent SG. Not sure if hes going to enter, but I like Hardaway's size and think he could look good next to Rose. Hardaway seems like a complete idiot with zero handles.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 09:40 AM) In no way am I in the "he can do no wrong" crowd, he has royally f***ed up in terms of PR. He should tell us once and for all if he's gonna play or not, not this God only knows crap, I agree with you guys on that. The only thing I'm with Rose is that he knows his body more than anyone else, including his doctors. It looks like the major hurdle for him right now is mental and maybe playing through that is the right decision but if he wants to be overly cautious and come back when the mental part is there, well that's his decision and ultimately it's his body and career we're talking about. Me, I would shut Rose down now and let him get a summer's worth of training and preseason to get back physically and mentally ready. The mental part is as important as the physical, I wouldn't want him to hurt another part of his body trying to subconciously protect his knee. I want DR1 for the long haul, not for a few weeks this year for a long (and I mean LONG) shot at the title. I wanted the Bulls to trade their expensive assets in the offseason and not chase a dream assuming Derrick Rose would come back when medically cleared to play and they'd make a run at this thing. The Bulls have completely f***ed themselves here. How they could let this be the season of all seasons they go over the tax threshold is beyond me. Completely ass-backwards management here.
-
What a crappy basketball season this was if you really think about it. Most of the teams have shut down their stars for the past couple of weeks, there's nothing interesting going on - I won't even touch the Bulls. Really, the next basketball that's going to actually matter is the Western Conference Finals when the old-ass Spurs get rolled by the Thunder. The Heat will cream the Knicks if they even get that far. Then the Heat win the title. This season is really finishing with quite a whimper.
