QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 05:33 PM) Which is why I included the 2nd part of that sentence. Yeah, but I wouldn't say he was highly productive. Which is why I countered your point.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 04:58 PM) See you in October 2013, maybe. It's starting to look that way.

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Mar 24, 2013 -> 03:32 PM) Highly productive player in Carolina Eh. I wouldn't go that far. 2010 and 2011 were definitely decent, though.

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 02:09 PM) This. I've gotten sick of the Heat hype and the Rose drama this year and for this first time ever have devoted more time to the Blackhawks than the Bulls. The day Rose steps on the court the Bulls go back to crushing the Blackhawks in ratings and hype.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 24, 2013 -> 10:52 PM) This one f***ing hurts. That was a punch to the gut. We f***ing battled. We were gutsy. We gave them all they could handle, played even with them in almost every aspect. We had a great gameplan - bodes well for Groce, and why I think the program is in good hands. That call at the end sucked. Who knows what happens if we get the ball. I will absolutely not blame it on that, just wish they would have huddled - it appeared the guy at half court was about to point the other way, or at least had a question about it. But the gut punch was the Larkin step back 3. I'll have that shot burned in my memory forever. Here's why we lost: Player A: 1-10 from 3 Player B: 2-9 from 3 I hate to make it that simple, but it really comes down to that. We had a bunch of looks in the 2nd half that just didn't go down, a lot of them looked good and rattled out. Minus the last air ball, which I don't know how in the hell that happened. Never happy to end the season with a loss. But this team, which was dead in the water after last season, and dead in the water halfway through the year, rallied, made the round of 32, and took a (possible) final four team to the ropes. Things are looking up for the first time in 7 years. Hats off to the seniors. Way to go out battling, and way to salvage this year after you could have mailed the whole thing in after last year's debacle. Also props to Egwu. That was one of the gutsiest performances I've seen out of an Illini player in years. He got in there and battled and grabbed rebounds and loose balls like he was an all-american. That was something. Now it's time to look forward to football season. I don't follow the Illini. At all. But it seemed to me that the gameplan should have been "more Brandon Paul does what he wants at the rim" and less "bunch of guys chuck threes". Great game, though. Great day all around for basketball.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 12:29 PM) You don't need to be personally invested in him/the Cavs to see what an asshole the guy was. No one would have questioned him leaving the Cavs. It was the bulls*** parading around the country getting other teams to beg for him that pissed me off. Especially since it was all for show. It was all for attention. He knew where he was going before FA hit. He's admitted it was a mistake. Everyone can move along. Dan Gilbert never apologized for his comic sans letter. Now that's unforgivable.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 11:35 AM) Still wouldn't matter. Point is we've seen the best of kobe. There's no higher for him to go. He's no threat (never really was) to Michael. Michael knows this. But Lebron is most definitely a threat. 4 MVPs before age 29? That's too sick. Like dick said, if the heat win this year (they will), it's officially on. What about when Rose comes back!?

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Mar 24, 2013 -> 01:36 AM) "I just threw 106 pitches and I am healthy," Peavy said. "I did get tired that last inning. That was pretty obvious. When I dove for a ball, it knocked the wind out of me a bit. I am super excited about the way the ball is coming out of my hand." Clearly, pitching will not be an issue for the 2013 Chicago White Sox.

QUOTE (Jake @ Mar 21, 2013 -> 09:46 PM) Anything with Adam Dunn in it is awesome. He's hilarious. Except the White Sox lineup, of course.

QUOTE (Boogua @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 10:24 AM) Also, Wade was arguably a top 5 player and Bosh a top 10 player in the league when they all decided to team up. Rodman came in and wasn't anywhere near that. He was a fantastic role player, but was well past his prime at that point. Dennis Rodman was old, but likely hopped up on steroids. The man averaged over 15 boards per game in his three years in Chicago. Pippen was easily as valuable in his day as Wade is now. Regardless of what Bosh was when he had massive usage in Toronto, he's nothing close to a top 10 player now and hasn't been since he started playing in Miami.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 10:01 AM) I see no need to front run guys who can't handle it on their own. Apparently Jordan didn't have Pippen and Rodman.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 08:28 AM) I think colluding for years for a pre-plan, meeting with the GM who pulls things off months before the deals actually go down, letting half a dozen teams try to clear cap space for 3 players they never had a chance to sign, having fake meetings with them for a week so that the market itself got screwed up, and then leaving them desperately throwing money at wahtever crappy free agents were still remaining...at the very least is bending the rules to me. Every other team involved in this mess got screwed over because they didn't know about the secret deal beforehand. A dozen teams tried to clear cap space for guys they never had a shot at, and then their cap situations were screwed by signing Johnsons and Boozers. You can't call players hanging out at the Olympics and becoming friends "colluding". You can't blame said players for listening to all of their options before deciding to play together in Miami. You can't blame said players for teams being so willing to tear their franchises down for a chance at the King. The "secret deal" was openly discussed as a rumor before any of the players hit the open market. Teams that tore down knew there was only so much talent available that offseason and took a calculated risk to land the King and his disciples. It just didn't work out, and to the victor goes the alley-oop-filled spoils. I'm completely over hating on the Heat and LeBron. This streak is incredible, and it'd be happening regardless of who LBJ's supporting cast is right now. He's that f***ing unstoppable.

I'm definitely excited about getting back into the video game landscape for the final wave of great games of this generation. I might skip Bioshock Infinite, but even if I do - Watch Dogs and GTA 5 should be incredible. Of course, I'd have to pry myself away from NBA 2k13...

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 08:00 AM) Amazing! A super team bends the rules to screw over the rest of the league, and they wind up being better than the rest of the league! Whoda ever thunk! How'd they bend the rules?

This is probably the greatest thing in history. -
I still can't believe Atlanta found a taker for Joe Johnson. Oh, Mad Russian, you so cray.

Rose should retire so we can use his salary on a guy who has balls.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 22, 2013 -> 02:17 PM) The thing is, this guy is going to have to stay clean, but considering the contract and the terms, it's a great deal for the Bears and he should be super motivated. It's about as risk-free financially as the Bears could get. The only risk they are taking, and it could be a big one, is if they are totally counting on him. Agreed 100%.

LOL @ Badgers

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 22, 2013 -> 12:59 PM) @danpompei 6m Bears have their successor to Brian Urlacher--it's D.J. Williams of Denver. Story coming soon. Williams, who turns 31 before the season, was a highly productive and versatile starter in Denver from 2004-2011, before multiple 2012 suspensions cost him a spot in the Broncos' rotation. He's played weak-side, strong-side, and middle linebacker in his career. Williams' Bears contract will keep him motivated. The one-year deal has a base value of $900,000 -- none of which is guaranteed -- and Williams can earn up to $1.75 million via incentives.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 22, 2013 -> 12:21 PM) Wisconsin better jump to a lead soon, because Henderson is bound to start making shots at some point. Not really.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 22, 2013 -> 12:12 PM) Wow these refs are brutal, what the f*** was that call on Brusier Your team has 7 turnovers and is shooting 26%, and it's the refs' faults?

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 21, 2013 -> 02:25 PM) Honor roll at my school was over 3.0., I was in all ap classes, it meant I had to get a C.... That isnt exactly difficult. Look at you defending it! Clearly Honor Roll was very important to you!
