    Downton Abbey is the most consistently-entertaining program on television.
  3. Thank God the Pats lost. I hope no one in Atlanta murdered SOXOBAMA last night - if he's half as annoying in person as he is on Soxtalk, I'd reckon his mouth might run him into trouble.
  4. Damn gym date in the am - couldn't watch a lick of Hawks hockey last night. It's good to see that Hossa is showing no ill-effects from that concussion.
  5. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jan 20, 2013 -> 01:46 PM) Kyle Beach is garbage, as is Rockford. They still play like a UHL team. They play how that dump city wants them to play.Yeehaw fightin'!
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 19, 2013 -> 05:50 PM) ESPN Chicago‏@ESPNChiHawks Quenneville said Carcillo has a "lower-body injury" and will miss some time. Didn't sound good. Prayers answered!!!!!
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 19, 2013 -> 12:20 PM) HOCKEY!!!!!!!
  8. Tucker is in as D coordinator - 670 the Score.
  9. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 02:08 PM) Kidd was a better rebounder/defender. But Paul is just flawless. What's his weakness? I can't think of one. The dude's even hilarious as Cliff Paul in those commercials.
  10. Watching Boozer not suck has been great, but I hope the Bulls are using his newfound work ethic to find a trading partner!
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 11:41 AM) I do think he'll be fine. Check his age 23 numbers. Check Carlos Lee's age 23 numbers. Very similar. Lee had a few more hits. Viciedo actually walked a bit more, and homered more. If he becomes more selective, something that often occurs with experience, he can become a monster. You carry yourself like he's a bust. I think he can be Carlos Lee. Both busts as 3rd baseman, both will have weight issues. Sometimes the sequel isn't as good as the original. Maybe this one is. Gordon Beckham is a bust. Dayan Viciedo is a guy you can part with in the right deal.
  12. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 12:16 PM) Ben Nicholson-Smith ‏@mlbtrben White Sox, Gordon Beckham avoid arb with one-year, $2.925MM deal, MLBTR has learned. That's about 6x what he's worth.
  13. QUOTE (vandy125 @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 11:58 AM) To add a bit to that, they showed off a bit more at CES 2013. You will soon be able to use some Samsung TVs, PlayStation 3's, and probably other RVU capable devices to access the HR44 DVR. That means if you have one of those devices, you won't need an extra box hooked up to it to access anything on the DVR. DirecTV Genie DVR RVU Server Hm. The ps3 ability would save me $6/mo in the basement over the Genie Mini Client. I am intrigued.
  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 12:07 PM) Wow that was an awesome write up.

    QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 11:36 AM) Is Mike gonna go on the straight and narrow now?! At some point, him and Rachel have to legitimately get together. total chick post
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 11:45 AM) Of course...weird thing I felt is...I don't I've seen much change in the Bears "offensive system" in the last 3 seasons. Last season looked....pretty much exactly like the 2 seasons before it. Well, as much as it pains me to say it, you must not have been watching much Bears football. Sure, the end result was the same (bad offense) but the difference between the insanity of the Martz offense vs the blahness of the Tice offense could not have been of higher contrast.
  17. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 11:21 AM) Cutler can rest his cannon arm now that he's running the dink-and-dunk offense. Cutler is a "coach killer". It's always somebody else fault why he can't succeed He succeeded just fine under Shanahan - who was inexplicably fired despite being pretty awesome. Since then, really, I'd find it hard to believe any QB could truly succeed with the calvacade of OC's, schemes, playbooks, and revolving door offensive linemen he's played with in Denver and Chicago. He's a prick, but he's also been given very little chance to succeed.
  18. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 11:01 AM) Thursday, January 18th, 2013, 2:00PM: Impress Steve Trestman's 9480 hour plan is all falling into place! It was like 11:45am.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 11:34 AM) Of course they fail, but that doesn't mean you give up on them when they are 23 or they are what they are at that age like many people here have mentioned. Sometimes, young players actually improve. I don't know that I'm saying give up on him, but you carry yourself like you are so f***ing certain Viciedo is going to be a monster. He'll absolutely have to hit .300 with his plate discipline to be a valuable member of the White Sox. I just don't see how his approach will EVER yield a .300 average - he's never going to be anything more than streaky.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 11:15 AM) Great post. 23 year olds never get better with experience. You really should be a GM. Great post. 23 year olds never fail to live up to expectations while franchises burn year after year on them.
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 10:50 AM) The Sox traded Morse in 2004. He didn't become worth anything until 2010 when he was 28 years old. If the Sox would have kept him, most would have given up on him long before that, considering this board has problems with 23 years olds who hit 25 homers. Since anyone complaining about Dayan Viciedo is a horrible thing in your opinion, I'll go off on your ridiculous homerism and your more ridiculous confidence that your way of thinking is so great. Viciedo's on base percentage is horrific, and he was worse than a replacement-level player offensively while providing no defense as a corner outfielder on a team that lost the division by 3 games - while he had an OPS of .660 after May. But keep slurping Dayan Viciedo and wearing your Sox-player blinders, Dick. 14 jacks over his last 100 games. Let's all roll out the red carpet for the future superstar and see nothing wrong with him ever!
  22. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 09:38 AM) Mike Morse was also busy getting his steroid on You mean HGH.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 10:59 AM) He was literally the only name (ok, only reasonable name, the other was Josh McDaniels) that I didn't want the Bears to consider. I wanted McCoy, but honestly, I have no idea. Trestman impressed me yesterday, hopefully it works out.
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 10:56 AM) Okay troll. Trestman seems to have put together a pretty experienced staff. Cavanaugh to QB coach, can't say I was pleased as punch with his record with some horrible QBs in NYJ. But certainly a very experienced coach, having been an OC for 5 years. Yeah, Cavanaugh doesn't make a ton of sense. This Jimmy Johnson Dave Wannstedt s*** is so old and played.
  25. This is why I sold all of my video games - they just weren't even fun. I'll hit the gym or play 5 minutes of GTA on my android or read a book or watch tv. No more games, pls.
