They have some deep pockets - I see this deal being a bad one but not as bad as the Albert one is looking - maybe they'll actually make the playoffs this year!

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 12:32 PM) I don't think anyone is suggesting this at all. You are bringing in someone to strengthen the bench. LA fans may hate Uribe but when he was here the players ssaw him a sa great team player. If we don't ever consider signing Juan Uribe I am fine with that too. Nothing about what Uribe has done the last two seasons strengthens any part of a Major League Baseball team's roster for 2013.

I wish the Bears would actually step up and win this game instead of just talking s***, but we all know they'll get destroyed.

I feel like Deron's s*** had a lot to do with the Jerry Sloan fiasco.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 01:47 AM) It's not a great reason, but he is such a weird and creepy guy, and parts of his movies I have seen were just over the top and looked ridiculous. And it probably had something to do with my best friend being obsessed with any movie he makes, so I got sick of him. I mean, my buddy has figurines and action figures and movie posters from Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Grindhouse, Inglorious Basterds, and I've been in the same room as him to see or hear him watch the Django Unchained trailers at least 7 times. His sick obsession probably put me off the most. I know you can't read this, but I'll post this anyway. You should try to care about what other people do less. It'll help moving forward. You should also see some Tarantino movies before deciding whether you will or won't like them. They are nice and different.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 12:02 PM) If by fairly regular, you mean about 92%, 5th best in the majors last year, then yeah. Resulting in a monster .697 OPS.

Yes.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 11:46 AM) Wonder what Politte and Cotts are up to nowadays They will soon have their own dedicated threads, along with Dustin Hermanson and Carl Everett, in PHT. Uribe has an OPS well under 6 the last two years - BUT LET'S BRING HIM BACK DOOONT STOP BELIIIIEEEEEEEVIN DANANANAAAaaaaa HOLD ONTO THAT FEEEEE EEEELAAAAAAAAAn

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 11:20 AM) I think Gordon is the best defensive 2b in the league. There's a lot of value in that, just ask the Sox pitchers. Thank you for the input, Ken.

The only drawback about winning a World Series is having people bring up the idea of bringing back "heroes" forever.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 11:33 AM) Google "philly fans" Yeah, so it's rather clear that fans from Philly are nuts. So perhaps the Chicago fans should have done what any smart visiting fan does after your team comes in someone else's house and wins. STFU and be courteous.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 05:13 PM) IMO anyone who pays to go to an NHL game for at least one season after they decide to come back is proving their point that NHL fans are suckers and will take any abuse and come back happily. If you're griping about this as a fan, it's on you to make them pay for it this time. Enough is enough. Agreed. But that indian head sweater gives me heart palpitations. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 08:13 AM) Hey, stay classy Philly... http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/b...0,5549222.story If one shooting defines Philly, then Chicago has no room to talk.

I adore AJ, but it's time to move along and get this rebuild under way.

QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 03:20 PM) Ackley is their Beckham, that's for sure. I doubt they'll trade him unless it's for a proven offensive player. Except he's two years younger and has 1.5 seasons under his belt instead of 3.5 seasons under his belt. There's still hope for Ackley - unlike Beckham.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 03:28 PM) I don't think Viciedo blows His 96 OPS+ disagrees. If you can get someone to give up anything for Viciedo, please do.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 02:36 PM) Wite's picture That's clearly Blak's picture.
-
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 02:50 PM) I'd certainly be disappointed to lose his power threat. I think he could become a perennial 30+ HR player at some point if he continues to improve. Viciedo blows. Trade him to anyone who will pay now.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 03:22 PM) No Charles Woodson on Sunday. Packers are hopeful that Clay Matthews will be able to play. Jay Cutler does not share in the Packers' wishes.

It saddens me to see OJ Mayo making the same cheddar as Kirk Hinrich. I'm glad the Bulls never, ever make the right move.
-
The Bulls are a ticking time bomb. Of all players in the NBA, Luol Deng and Joakim Noah lead the league in MPG. 1. Luol Deng 41:06 (f***ing absurd) 2. Joakim Noah 39:54 (a 6-11 center 2nd in the NBA in mpg) 3rd is Durant at 39:25, and only six players average more than 38 mpg in all of basketball. I predict injuries in the 2nd half.

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 02:30 PM) That's the same thing I heard about Dwight. He's Derrick's friend, they're Adidas buddies! Finding videos and quotes in the media in an attempt to convince themselves that Dwight to Chicago could happen. Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice...the fool can't get fooled again. That was more created because of ADIDAS hype vs having the players actually confirm they adore each other. The Bulls dodged a huge bullet with Dwight, anyway.
-
QUOTE (RZZZA @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 02:19 PM) Oh noez, not another big target chase. Dwight might not re-sign in L.A. either, are we gonna have to go through all that again? *sigh* What are the chances that the Bulls lure a big time player to come to the Bulls? I don't want to get my hopes up again Well, Rose and Love (and Russell Westbrook) are workout buddies - so getting Love to come play with Rose wouldn't be the issue. I do agree, though, that anyone getting their hopes up is nuts. Kevin Love is signed through 2015, and the T'Wolves will look to make him happy before they look to ship him out. So you're likely hoping to talk David Kahn into trading his 24 year old superstar for $14 million worth of stuff on the Bulls' roster not named Rose/Noah. That will be difficult, though Kahn adores small forwards (ie, Luol), even he is not silly enough to make a move like that. This pushes any sort of signing to the 2015 offseason when Kevin Love opts out of the final year of his deal. Sorry, I'm not going to get worked up over something that is 2.5 years away.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 12:35 PM) Brad Biggs @BradBiggs Brandon Marshall: "This is the biggest game of my career. I heard exactly what Tramon, Woodson said after the game. This is personal." Marshall: "I have never felt this strong in sports vs. any team or any players." It's too bad he can't play multiple positions - it's not like Marshall could play any better. Maybe some of this passion will rub off on the O-Line or our lazy secondary.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 12:48 PM) Chris Kuc @ChrisKuc According to a source, #Blackhawks winger Marian Hossa has been medically cleared by team following recovery from concussion. Cleared to not play NHL hockey since it doesn't exist.
