Republican 2012 Nomination Thread
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 09:17 PM) It's so disheartening to see Americans just embrace warmongering so openly after what we should have learned from Iraq. It honestly embarrasses me. To expect the general populace to have a coherent, thoughtful point of view on issues in this country is pointless. Just sit back and wait for the next person to make no difference take over.

2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 07:57 AM) who the heck cares, there's no obvious offer here that is remotely enticing without Griffin. Exactly, and I guess that's what irks me about the situation. Howard, or Howard's people, nonchalantly add the Clippers to their list, basically sizing them up to see if they'll stick with their franchise star (or after the CP3 trade, maybe secondary? hard to tell their mindset) or if they'll deal him for Dwight. It just feels dirty, it feels like Dwight is trying to take a spot that Blake has earned and is still learning. I'm sure I'm over-analyzing it, though. Blake is not Dwight, so I guess it'd be smart for the Clippers to entertain the idea. However, aside from being injured his first training camp, Blake is the first player to come through the Clippers and not become a complete and utter disappointment in forever, and trying to take his spot the moment they get a shiny new toy in CP3 just pisses me off.

Yankees Acquire Pineda for Montero
I like your take, Wite. You are much less reactionary than the rest of us. I still feel Pineda will be a freak, but we'll see how this one plays out.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 12:32 AM) I thought Alzatraz was pretty good. Kind of worries me it might be one of those "LOST" type shows with mystery after mystery after mystery. One thing it has going for it is there's a "House" style where each episode will seem to involve a new inmate and tracking him down. So you get the big, prevailing storyline along with little, tidy episodes that wrap up a smaller portion of the story. You won't have the 5 episodes of learning absolutely nothing for the buildup to something that winds up lame, like in Lost.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 01:46 AM) Who's to say he wouldn't be on a better team than the Clippers (assuming they would can VDN for a real coach, and somehow they keep Paul and Griffin). There is no scenario that lands Dwight with the LAC that doesn't involve Blake.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 10:06 PM) but he doesnt want to go to Chicago. No reason to hate on him for that. I called him a turd because now that the Clippers are enjoying their first actual success in 20 years he all the sudden added them to his list. He's a big b**** who doesn't care about anything but going somewhere fun so he can party. Just like 99% of the rest of these idiots.

Dwight Howard has added the Clippers to his list of preferred destinations, according to Chris Sheridan. Howard had previously told the Magic that he would be willing to sign a long-term deal with the Nets, Mavericks and Lakers. Now the fast-rising Clippers are on his radar. God, he's such a turd.
