Official 2011-2012 NFL Thread
Steve9347 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 07:47 AM) If you were running the Bears and were offered the opportunity to make one of the following two trades, which one do you take? 1) Jay Cutler for Aaron Rodgers 2) Bears' five best OL for Packers' five best OL Assume that all players involved are healthy (which I know is not the case for Bears OL right now) and that there would be no salary cap problems with making the swap (you would not be forced to give up other players on the roster). Trick Question: Jerry Angelo for Ted Thompson That reaps benefits in two ways. 1) Packers suck, 2) Bears don't. -

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Sep 23, 2011 -> 01:10 PM) Everytime I think about the NBA I get real sad. We are being robbed of precious Derrick Rose moments. AND IT SUCKS STINKY ASS. -

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 22, 2011 -> 11:08 PM) How? I don't give a s*** if Hall wants to break Romo in half, the point is you can't OPENLY SAY THAT to the public. That's football. There's no rule against tackling someone in the f***ing ribs. Jesus f***ing Christ. F*ck. -
I can't get over how good Madden 12 is... it really plays so well and is much more challenging this year.

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 23, 2011 -> 07:37 AM) I was done after 10 minutes. Not because of the laugh track but because of how bad it was. Community was meh. I liked the gag about Britta joining the Ruiners club. Park and Rec was awesome as usual. The little scene with Swanson and Tammy 1 at the end was great and it wasn't even 1 minutue long. I like how Ron grew a beard in like a day or two. That show just delivers... I'm excited to see Andy as Leslie's assistant. April keeps getting hotter. Tommy Haverford is a God. Funniest show on television. Community was whacky, which I enjoy. The Office truly, truly surprised me and threw everyone for a loop with Andy being the actual Manager, while Spader is the new CEO. I enjoyed that episode and like the direction we're headed. Andy was the one I wanted to get the gig all along.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 23, 2011 -> 07:35 AM) f***ing Rum Ham. You could say we're getting... HAMmered?

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 22, 2011 -> 10:49 PM) The scene with the homeless guys was absolutely hysterical, besides that I thought it was pretty average, pretty much like last week. See, the scene with the homeless guys to me was the worst. I was absolutely losing it during the musical montage of Frank/Mac partying on the boat, Dennis and Dee during their hell of a night, and Charlie and the Waitress picking up trash and dead animals along the beach and acting like it was glorious.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 23, 2011 -> 01:36 AM) Fantasy hockey names anyone? Mine is currently "Honey Nut Chelios", but I am considering a change to "Boats and Toews" I simply went with "Ron Swanson".

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 23, 2011 -> 08:18 AM) League starts canceling training camp and exhibition games. Not surprising, but still, God f***ing damn it. -
Sunny was incredible tonight.
-
QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Sep 22, 2011 -> 02:15 PM) I'm looking forward to Person of Interest tonight. I hope it meets the hype. I have the DVR set... Michael Emerson certainly has earned my fandom enough for me to check it out.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 22, 2011 -> 10:21 AM) I want Mark signed to a Tim Wakefield like deal. $10 million a year, renewed until he wants to retire. Yes, please.
-
Personally, I think Mark Buehrle's resume is stacked enough to warrant HoF.
-
I'd be pretty damn shocked if Buehrle weren't back next year. See also: sad.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 07:12 PM) The best thing that happened for us but the worst thing that happened for their relationship was winning the WS. Their egos couldn't take the other one getting credit for the victory, and it deteriorated and deteriorated. The Thome thing hurt, Oney's tweets didn't help much and Ozney not being picked in the first few rounds hurt, but Oney wouldn't have been tweeting what he was tweeting at the beginning if their relationship was solid. This one probably best sums it up.

Cool, another Michael Vick + dogs argument. Someone bring up Jay Cutler's toughness. -
QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 07:27 PM) Not really, I have no idea. There's no need for spoiler tags for Moneyball. From what I've heard, the climax of the film is the 20-game winning streak.

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 22, 2011 -> 06:16 AM) The 2nd episode of Modern Family was 100x better than the first. When Luke told Lily, "This isn't over!", I started rolling. Yeah, all the Lilly s*** was hilarious. "Kill the baby" muttered from the other room. I enjoyed both episodes, but yeah, the 2nd was better.

QUOTE (Felix @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 06:29 PM) That is so played.
