QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 11:03 AM) What the f*** is Michael Jordan wearing? Yeah, saw the Bernstein tweet too... I don't care about what he's wearing, I'm just glad he's clearly back in awesome shape! -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 10:59 AM) Should we start expecting an NHL lockout soon? Well, we already lost a season recently, and the cap is now going up up up up and irresponsible contracts are on the rise. The league is probably going to head that direction eventually, sadly.

Duncan Keith's cap hit is just $38,462 more than James Wisniewski's.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 10:02 AM) They could have stayed if they funded the new one and you can still have your Sonics just like Cleveland recreated their Browns. There have been teams that have tried to relocate for the exact same reasons (White Sox anyone) and they stayed. Those films and articles are very nicely put together from the Seattle POV, and I understand that there was alot of douchebaggery involved, but the fans and the city could have kept them if they wanted, instead they said it didnt matter if they left and their lawsuits were weak at best. A paltry 3,000 (est) fans showed up in protest to them leaving outside of the courthouse. I dont buy that it was all one-sided, and I certainly dont buy that Stern was at fault. Come on, Rock. You've been check f***ing mated. You are way off on this one. It happens to the best of us, bro. -
As predicted. The free agent class is rather weak and teams need to find that salary floor. I think it's best the Blackhawks avoid going after anyone, really.
-
@TSNBobMcKenzie: Confirming James Wisniewski to CBJ for 6 years at $33M. Oh to be an NHL free agent this offseason. That is just stupid money for Wiz.
-
CHICAGO SUN-TIMES/CHICAGO DAILY HERALD: reports the Blackhawks, having re-signed defenseman Steve Montador, are now focused on adding role players. They’re also in talks with RFA Michael Frolik and Viktor Stalberg. As expected. It should be interesting to see whom we covet.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 08:57 AM) I'm sorry for actual NBA fans if this lockout is as long as many project it is...but from a personal, selfish standpoint, I was hoping for this. I hope David Stern is even more vilified, I hope he is eventually, somehow, forced out of the league (unlikely) and I am grateful I won't have to hear about how good the Thunder are for a little while. I will never forgive David Stern for what he let happen to the Sonics, so anything bad that happens to him (or his league) I currently have no problem with. I like David Stern. -
Two hours... boy oh boy are some awful contracts going to be handed out today.

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 08:17 AM) Stole from some dudes post on committed indians.. Campbell ($7.1 mil): 5 G, 22 A, + 28, 6 PIM, 84 SOG, 28 Hits, 101 Blocks Montador ($2.75 mil): 5 G, 21 A, +16, 83 PIM, 118 SOG, 86 Hits, 138 Blocks Almost identical production, still a great +/-, more shots, more hits, more blocks, and for more than $4 million less! Montador did play 8 more games than Campbell this past season, but even still, I'd say this is an absolutely GREAT move by Bowman. Yeah, I'm shocked at how much Cambell's production tailed off. Missing 13 games each year never helps.

Lord of the Rings 2/3. Harry Potter anything.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 04:44 PM) Ugh, really? Whatever I watched was him sweating profusely while sitting at a piano, pretending that he was going to play a song and continually going from joke to joke. Except none of the jokes (one liner observations) were very creative or funny. I dunno, different strokes for different folks I guess. I find his act to be absolutely hilarious.

Can someone give me one good reason that the hitting coach for a lineup that features more OPS's under .640 than I can ever remember still has a job?
