  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 27, 2011 -> 09:41 AM) i agree, Rolands character was made with classic western Clint Eastwood in mind, so i also imagined a taller thinner Roland. But Bardem is a fantastic actor, i think i can get behind this choice He's also quite dedicated, so I bet he slims down.
  2. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 26, 2011 -> 11:43 AM) Bill Brasky Bill Brasky showers in grain alcohol.
  3. QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 27, 2011 -> 12:43 AM) Nope, Kevin Love sucks. He's up 3-0 in 30/20 games on the rest of the NBA. Your move, NBA. Oh, and for those that said something along the lines of Love never winning a game for you (Steve maybe? I don't remember all the stupid that gets said in here): he had 21 and 11 in the second half tonight, including 14 and 5 in the fourth quarter. 9-for-14 shooting, including 2-for-2 from three in the second half as a whole. Yeah, the Timberwolves lost, but this wasn't a case of Kevin Love not putting his team on his shoulders. It was a case of the rest of the team not doing their part. Ah hahaha. Your point? I never said Kevin Love wasn't awesome... or special... or a player I wouldn't love to have (hell, coming out of UCLA I was one of his backers). I said the statement that he was a top 10 player in the National Basketball Association was utterly stupid, and it remains as such. Kid's got charisma, he's a great interview, and he's a hard worker, but he's nowhere close to a top 10 player in the League.
  4. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 26, 2011 -> 11:36 PM) I'm too worried about being banned to hack my system. I'm too busy to worry about hacking a fantastic multimedia system to play a few s***ty games. The ones worth playing can be purchased.
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 27, 2011 -> 08:18 AM) Javier Bardem offered the role of Roland in the upcoming "The Dark Tower" adaptations. I'd pictured someone less bulky.

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jan 27, 2011 -> 06:22 AM) Will Farrell to guest star on The Office. Could be pure awesomeness. http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with...=rss_topstories "We found Steve Carell when he was nothing but a movie star and we turned him into a television star," said executive producer Paul Lieberstein, who also plays put-upon HR rep Toby. "We are proud to continue The Office's tradition of discovering famous talent, and we hope that once America gets a good look at Will, they'll see what we see: tremendous raw sexuality." --- oh, and those 4 episodes are going to be epic. I've been telling everyone who will listen about how good The Office has been this year. I was laughing my ass off during the roller skating of Andy, Darrell, and Dwight.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 26, 2011 -> 04:57 PM) I've never heard of this... It's a new FX show about a retired boxer dealing with money and family issues (to place it in it's simplest form). The show is only 3 episodes deep, I recommend anyone hop on board.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 26, 2011 -> 06:12 PM) Bulls ranked #3 in the NBA in value according to Forbes at $511 million. Also according to Forbes, JR and his buddies made over $50 million in profit for at least the 4th year in a row. What sucks is the moment JR is ready to pay the luxury tax (player legitimately worth building around) it may no longer exist.
  9. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 26, 2011 -> 02:31 PM) Looking to make sure I did this right or thought it through properly. I am an average user of technology, I know my way aroud the web, stumble from time to time on my wireless network at home but have four wireless (laptop, Blu-Ray, ipod Touch, and Wii) and four hard wired (2 desktops, Blu-Ray and DirectTV) all on a Cisco Router that is a year old. I do not have a Smart Phone but will be going this way shortly. Anyway, my home network grew over the holidays with the new Blu-Ray players, Wii and the ipod touch joining our network. Previously after I connected my laptop I never used the wireless for anything as there was no need to. I want to download movies and use Netflix and Vudu on the Blu Rays and Wii and they never load. I think it is my modem. I could download on DirectTV but that loads to the DVR where it resides and is not really streaming video like Netflix and VUDU. My modem was AT&T and it was 1.5mbs which is the fastest DSL AT&T will give without Uverse. It works for music and e-mail but not forstreaming video to the BluRay and Wii. I like DirectTV and do not want Uverse which will give me 18mbs. I moved to Comcast XFinity for home phone and Internet as the price is the same as what I currently pay for AT&T home phone nad interenet. Comcast is 15mbs. Will this allow me to do what I need? I know that I can not use all of the compoents at once. You shouldn't have an issue. Just make sure you have the latest firmware on the router.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 26, 2011 -> 08:44 AM) Best Tosh episode in a long time. I actually laughed a few times. The Gay Porn Viagra Test is such a hilariously horrible idea. I'm surprised they all passed.

  14. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Jan 25, 2011 -> 05:44 PM) If I was a Bears fan I would be more concerned about Cutler's ability as a QB and ability to win the big game in this league rather than his attitude, ability to play through an injury, etc. Just think about how much the bears gave up for a "franchise" QB (in terms of draft picks, personnel, and cash) and you would have thought they traded for Drew Brees or Tom Brady not Jay Cutler who has proven to be an above average QB in this league but not one to take you over the top. That's what I would be upset about. I look at a guy who got sacked 52 times, hurried at least another 150-200, had the league's 22nd ranked rushing attack, has one of the worst crops of WR in the league, and still pulled off an 87 QB rating and think "God damn, if Angelo put a hint of talent around him he'd dominate". Cutler is very, very good.
  15. A couple of flashy plays here at the end of the 4th by Rose to cap off another tough shooting night. Nothin like seeing a no look pass by the franchise to get over Bears / Packers, though!
  16. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 08:45 PM) I think he put on "The Jersey" and turned into a young Karl Malone tonight. And yes, I just made a Disney Channel tv show reference. I commend the effort.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 08:18 PM) What on earth have I done to you to make you so angry? I fought and complained to have this thread re-opened, so please try and stay civil in your argument, would you? I admitted my argument was overstated. Can you calm down now? Explain how my argument was not civilized? You say the Bears defense without Briggs cost them to lose to the Redskins. I say the Bears defense only gave up 10 points in that game and your argument is not valid. The reason your argument is invalid is blaming the defense for giving up 10 points in a game the Bears offense gave up 6 turnovers is utterly insane. The defense tried it's best and kept us in that one, generating 3 turnovers of it's own and scoring a touchdown as well. We didn't lose that game because Briggs didn't play... not even close. The defense dominated. Stop trying to play the victim. When you make outrageously incorrect points while shooting from the hip, they will be replied to in kind. There's no way you could have watched that Bears/Redskins game, because if you did you wouldn't be making such ridiculous comments.
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 08:12 PM) In Week 7 against Washington, the Redskins rushed for 125 yards on us without Briggs. Those were two teams we would have dominated with him on the field. The Bears gave up 10 points. TEN POINTS on defense. You make zero sense.
  19. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 07:56 PM) I dunno. I guess it's a coincidence we lost to Seattle and Washington when Briggs was out with his injury. Good call, because giving up 21 points and 10 points screams "defense's fault". Jesus, in the game against Washington Cutler had 4 picks including a pick 6.
  20. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 07:40 PM) Urlacher might be the best tampa 2 mlb of all time. This defense goes as far as he takes it. Briggs is a great player. But even Peppers was MUCH more important to this defense. Hopefully they can get a top tier safety this off season, which is also very important for this defense. Even a casual Bears fan should know that. That's why I'm done arguing with Shack.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 07:34 PM) Another great rebuttal. How'd the D look in 2009? Seriously, man, what's the f***ing point? Arguing with you is like arguing with a brick wall. If you think Lance Briggs is the key to our defense, over the much more important Brian Urlacher and Julius Peppers, then arguing with you is moot. Hell, you still think Cutler should have played, when 95% of the rest of the world has come around and realized they were fools.
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 07:27 PM) Then make an argument to the contrary. Look at any game Briggs was out and our defense failed to stop the run. He's absolutely instrumental in our run defense. When he's not out there, Urlacher is running around getting beat all over the field. I concede that maybe they are both equally important, but considering the press Urlacher gets, it's my opinion that he is overrated. He was even voted as most as one of the most overrated players in the league, by the players, several years ago. Time to retire from the thread.
