QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 05:26 PM) That being said, you could do a lot worse than drafting a Bargnani. Eh, 1st overall? I know 2006 sucked, but they'd have been better off going with Aldridge, Roy, or Gay at that pick (not that at the time it would have been advocated). Bargnani is one of the worst 1st overall selections in the last 20 seasons. I've bolded whom I think could arguably be considered a worse pick. 2010 John Wall 2009 Blake Griffin 2008 Derrick Rose 2007 Greg Oden* 2006 Andrea Bargnani 2005 Andrew Bogut 2004 Dwight Howard 2003 LeBron James 2002 Yao Ming 2001 Kwame Brown 2000 Kenyon Martin 1999 Elton Brand 1998 Michael Olowokandi 1997 Tim Duncan 1996 Allen Iverson 1995 Joe Smith 1994 Glenn Robinson 1993 Chris Webber 1992 Shaquille O'Neal 1991 Larry Johnson * - Only for injuries Sure, there's time for Bargnani to continue developing, so the jury isn't out as he's only 25, but yes, you could do worse taking a Bargnani first overall, but not much worse.

QUOTE (Felix @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 06:43 PM) Except Bargnani is about as bad as can be on defense. And yeah, he's really not that good. Yup. He's quite an average player...
-
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 05:22 PM) If 21-6-2 is average, I want more guys like him then. His percentages are down, obviously, because he's basically the only guy in Toronto who can score. But he can light it up. His percentages are down and he's basically completely stopped blocking shots. He is not a player you build around... he scores 20 ppg because he's just that... average guy on a s*** team. 21 points on 18 shots a game is pretty bad, and he's no longer a 40% 3PT shooter, down to 32%. He's average.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 05:18 PM) Bargnani and Aldridge turned out to be really, really good. Without Bosh drawing defenders away Bargnani turned out to be really, really average.

The Killzone 3 Open Beta was released at some point. I had some fun with that yesterday afternoon. I'll definitely be picking that game up.

"Lights Out" continues to be absolutely awesome. I'm sure anyone can catch up On Demand or on FX.com. It's awesome.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 6, 2011 -> 12:11 AM) NO YOU'RE WRONG!!!11!!!!1 Are we allowed to voice opinions on this board? LOL There are definitely people who hold their Starbucks for show. I'm clearly not the only one that thinks that either. I think I misunderstood the scope of which your post touched. My apologies.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 5, 2011 -> 07:53 PM) I like how you rip on him for ignoring the fact that people can have different tastes even though you also are ignoring the fact that people can have different tastes by saying he's wrong. Stay consistent? You seem confused. His statement was "people drink coffee as a statement", which may be accurate for some, but not most. He is incorrect that all folks drink it solely for that purpose.

White Sox Off-Season Catch All Thread
Steve9347 replied to Chisoxfn's topic in 2011 Season in Review
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 11:09 AM) Serious question...where would he play? 3b? His weak defense there is why the Rangers replaced him. He's been worth a couple wins with the bat in the fangraphs world...but the fact that the Rangers spent stupid-level money to replace him tells me a lot. I wasn't being serious. In all seriousness, I feel like the White Sox are pretty stacked right now. This might be the best team we've had on paper save 1994/2006. -

QUOTE (daa84 @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 10:04 AM) michael young is asking for a trade out of texas...Its too bad hes got a ridiculous contract (16 mil per for the next three years), because hed be a solid option at third for this season, though certainly not for 16 mil and certainly not for 16 mil in 2013 A Michael Young acquisition sounds quite all-in to me! -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 10:22 AM) What about the idiots that will circle the parking lot for 30 minutes to get a close spot instead of walking an extra 30 yards? I feel like walking up to them as if I need to ask for directions or something and punching them in the nose. God forbid they burned 10 more calories. The other day there was a standoff for a parking spot in front of my gym. Two cars with their noses equally at the spot, refusing to move and the people were just losing their minds. There was a spot like 5 cars down openly available. People are stupid.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 10:15 AM) I plan on watching it since it's from Shawn Ryan (The Shield). I plan on watching it for both reasons listed. "Justified" starts back up this week!

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 03:12 AM) And what if you forget your iPod at home for example? I don't think anyone would want to waste gas going all the way back to their house (unless you live like a block or two away from the gym) just to get their iPod, especially cause of s***ty gym music. Beggars can't be choosers.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 6, 2011 -> 04:26 PM) lostfan called it with the body odor. You're obviously going to have excess sweat flying all over the place. Which I don't have a problem with. As I sweat pretty hard when doing cardio. But no need to compound that by not showering or wearing deodorant before a workout or even worse wearing non-clean attire while working out. The worst is when you are in a workout and someone gets on the machine next to you and you can smell them before they even start working out... it's awful.
-
QUOTE (lostfan @ Feb 6, 2011 -> 02:06 PM) People who sweat like pigs and don't wipe off the equipment. Also, people who just smell so bad in general when they work out that you just don't want to be near them. These. I also submit "people who reek of cigarette smoke working out near you" followed by "chicks who wear gallons of perfume to the gym". I guess the latter is acceptable, but I like to breath air that is not scented, especially of smoke. The perfume is also a distraction because I have to see if said chick is hot, and that takes my mind away from "the zone" I like to get in so time passes while doing cardio. Oh, and I'm down to 195.6 from 211.7 on 01/10/2011. Hell yeah.

I recently upgraded to CS5, and the "content aware" s*** is pretty awesome. As for free programs, I have no idea. I just wanted to talk about CS5 somewhere.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 09:22 AM) I think what this country needs is more movies based on comic books. I find it comical the amount of people who immediately buy in... I was watching the game with some buddies, and I said "Thor was like the lamest character", and one of them replies "Thor is awesome", and I replied, "have you ever read a Thor comic book?" He of course had not. I cannot buy into Thor, such a lame character. The Captain America movie looks solid, even if the costume should have been "movied up".

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 6, 2011 -> 12:37 PM) Tom Brady is the NFL's first ever unanimous MVP. With the poor way Vick ended the season, it was a pretty obvious choice.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 6, 2011 -> 04:08 PM) The Celtics are just a terrible match-up for the Magic. And Gilbert Arenas is bad at basketball. Who isn't a bad match up for the Magic these days? The Bulls showed that you can just let Dwight go off and defend their perimeter shooters lightly. Sure, in a playoff series they'll have a couple games where they don't miss from down town, but the Magic are a paper tiger.
