  1. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 8, 2009 -> 02:19 PM) I love people who have blind love for players and cant admit the truth. You mean the guy we signed to a one-year deal was our best outfielder this year despite all his faults?
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 8, 2009 -> 02:19 PM) Who retires first, Farve or Chelios? Chelios will be playing professional roller hockey with his cousin Steve until he's 60. ESPN used to air that s***, I couldn't believe Chelly's cousin was out there pissing everyone off.
  3. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Oct 8, 2009 -> 02:05 PM) Everyone see that Chelios might sign with the Wolves? Check the Trib website. Yikes. Jesus, Chelly, hang the motherf***ers up.
  4. I guess I'll resurrect my sig from last off-season.
  5. I'd probably do it, though obviously it'd take a backseat to the TalkBulls league.
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 8, 2009 -> 10:44 AM) No I seriously can't get hockey feeds don't here, no bs. I was referring to the Aliu portion of your post.
  7. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Oct 8, 2009 -> 02:05 AM) Live is WAY better this year, I'll say this time and time again. The only thing 2K sports games do better consistently is presentation. NBA 2k is far and away better than Live.
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 8, 2009 -> 09:43 AM) Someone told me Akim Aliu could play tonite, is there truth to this...and can someone make a bunch of animations of tonites game and send them to me...i def. cannot find any hockey feeds down here. Sounds like BS.
  9. What a cock-tease bring Thome to the on-deck circle only to pull him away.
  10. Regardless, this is going to approach stupid if people just keep making deals.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Oct 7, 2009 -> 05:02 PM) I just finished watching Inglorious Basterds. I haven't been this disappointed from a movie in quite awhile. I know this discussion was had near the films theatrical release, but honestly, did anyone feel unsettled in numerous scenes because it just seemed to drag on for too long? It has become his trademark. A perfect example of this would be the scene where "Bear Jew" was inside the cave banging his bat, intimidating the Nazi soldier. It wasn't building suspense in my mind. I was just thinking, "get out of the f***ing cave already!" The entire tavern scene was excruciating to sit through, as well. And yes, because I can anticipate the replies, I knew the trailers misguided the public into believing it was an action flick revolving around Pitt's character. I had already known much of what happened, I just have to admit, it didn't live up to the standards I hold for Tarantino. I didn't really think much of the dialogue, or the characters (aside from the woman who owned the theater), and I certaintly didn't care for the action or suspense. I can't knock everyone's appreciation for this movie. There are probably countless fans (many on this board) who can articulate their appreciation for the movie. Fine. But what I feel is too many Quentin Tarantino fan-boys are praising this movie because he's involved. It' reminds me of the Boondock Saints fan base, where honoring the movie has become a cult all in itself. I'm as critical of Tarantino's misses as I am of his hits. Those two scenes you hated were two of my favorites in the film. That tavern scene was gloriously unnerving and one of the most suspenseful scenes I can remember. Well, that and of course the scene with the cream.
  12. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 7, 2009 -> 08:40 PM) Id rather if you wanted Rivers you trade one of your players who was rated higher. You then could trade Cassel for a player to replace that player. ie Wilfork for Rivers Cassel for a DT rated 81 or so Its not a huge deal though, do we even have draft picks? Yes, bd, do the above. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Oct 7, 2009 -> 09:07 PM) Simmed. Im on bye this week so hopefully this goes fast. I'll play my game tonight!! Cutler needs a big time game.
  13. QUOTE (LZPride08 @ Oct 7, 2009 -> 06:59 PM) does anyone know how i can download rosters with real names for NCAAF10 on the xbox360 Through this crazy new website called Google, I found this.
  14. QUOTE (BobDylan @ Oct 7, 2009 -> 08:00 PM) What about draft picks? Could I do something like Cassel (83) + Rnd 3 for Phillip Rivers (89)? In reality, it'd cost you a 1st rounder. Considering you're trying to better a completely s*** team, I'd settle for a 2nd. I really have no quelms with a trade in this instance. Swap punters with the other team as well though.
  15. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 7, 2009 -> 03:53 PM) For player versus player games we need to have a rule that both players must post times in this thread when they are available. That way we can enforce it if some one is blowing off the game. This is a good idea.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 7, 2009 -> 01:58 PM) The Griswolds are going on 'Vacation' again — this time with Rusty. Oh no.
  17. Is there any chance you guys can get your game in today?
  18. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 7, 2009 -> 08:53 AM) I've completely cut the NBA out of my life since the Sonics were stolen so I havent played the last 2 years of games but from my experience the 2K series is leaps and bounds better than Live. It must be really, really, really, really, really annoying to have Kevin Durant stolen from you.
  19. QUOTE (T R U @ Oct 7, 2009 -> 02:09 AM) My power poll would be.. 1. Minnesota Vikings 2. New York Giants 3. Indianapolis Colts 4. New Orleans Saints 5. Chicago Bears 6. New England Patriots 7. Baltimore Ravens 8. San Francisco 49ers Great writeup Carl. It's nice to see you backing up your statements, and I would agree that the Vikings are the best in the NFL, but they do need to be tested. It's weird how many bad teams there are in the League right now. The Bears at 5 is interesting... I really think the Pats stink this year and cannot play defense. They are incredibly lucky to be 3-1, as they were gifted wins against the Ravens and the farking Bills. You know BB will have them in contention, but they are nothing more than a paper tiger. I do hope they stomp the ever-loving s*** out of the Broncos so we can stop hearing about them, and playing the Titans and Bucs before the BYE will make them look even better. However, I restate that they just aren't that great. 1. Vikings - If Favre keeps playing like this they are winning the Super Bowl. 2. Colts - Payton is a beast, we all know that. However, this team can really play defense and has a nice 1-2 running back punch to change the pace. They are pass-first, and where you point out that Garcon and Collie are young, they will be getting Gonzalez back at some point soon, and in this case, the QB makes the WRs anyway. 3. Giants - If Eli's injury lingers, David Carr is going to become popular in NY with an actual offensive line and team around him. 4. 49ers - I'm a believer. 5. Saints - The videogame offense seems to have increased the difficulty setting recently, but obviously they will rebound. 6. Ravens - They now have a much-needed chip on their shoulder. 7. Bears - If Urlacher were healthy they'd be top 4. They need someone to step up in the secondary, or they stand no chance to beat the upper echelon teams. 8. Pats - Ugh
  20. Thanks for posting the Matt Damon part so I don't have to fast forward through 22 minutes of garbage Entourage to see something funny.
