QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 02:27 PM) I know it's just been a few days but that perfect storm of the aging guys waiting one more year to age, plus the young new studs continuing their young studliness...... ........what if every component of that fails as opposed to repeats. Then we lose a lot of games. -
QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 02:05 PM) As one of the apparent few people who thought Idiocracy was brilliant, I'm looking forward to this one. Or one of the EVERYONE who liked Office Space.

Jason, I too have contemplated Rex Grossman as backup, but I think that ship has sailed.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 11:20 AM) If the Bears pick up Holt, than they are a superbowl contender and with that I don't think you can risk going through a season with one of Hanie/Basanez as your primary backups. I'm not saying our backup will be there to rescue us and win a superbowl if Cutler goes down for the season, but if we lose Jay for three or for games or just one or two, the backup could find a way to lead the Bears to a key victory or two that is necessary to get the Bears into the playoffs where Cutler comes back and dominates. I'm thinking one year stop-gap. Go sign up Byron Leftwich as backup.

QUOTE (juddling @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 09:17 AM) I wasn't that fond of last night Scrubs but WOW....the shot of Jordan and Elliot walking on the beach and standing there in bikinis....WOW again. Christa Miller knocked it out of the park. She's 44 and looked amazing...even next to Elliot who looked great herself

QUOTE (Hawkfan @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 10:39 AM) Good thing we didn't trade konerko for him. This is a really stupid comment. A. That's the least important thing right now. B. He'd have been in Chicago last night and would be alive. C. They would never have done this trade.
-
Uh, holy crap, that's crazy.
-
...and BA still can't get in a game.

Should the Sox Retaliate for the CQ Beaning?
Steve9347 replied to BaseballNick's topic in Pale Hose Talk
To answer the thread title question: Yes, by actually hitting the f***ing ball. -
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 04:37 AM) To be quite honest, I don't understand when people say the Bears have no receivers. Technically, yeah, their receiving corps is terrible, but they have two very good tight ends plus a good receiving back too. To me, it appears as though they are the addition of someone like Holt away from having a pretty formidable all-around receiving threat, even if it isn't going to scare the crap out of defenses. Yes. The addition of Torry Holt would, in my opinion, make the Bears the top offense in the NFC. It would also be the final addition to what would be the best offense in Bears history.

TCQ getting drilled by Grienke is probably the best thing that could have happened to him. Hopefully he comes in today pissed and kills one.

Stone definitely has a smarter head for the game than most broadcasters. About 10 times during a game he'll say "he should throw [insert pitch type] right here, [insert pitch location]". And sure enough, 9/10, that's what the pitcher throws, and the 1/10 he doesn't things end poorly. The booth got much better with Stoney joining.

QUOTE (beautox @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 11:01 AM) Fields CQ I see josh keeping his hads closer to his head and staying closed more, while Carlos is the converse of that. Either way it would be wonderful if lasic and a healed knee would allow Josh to break out in a big way, id love to see double digit steals Nice screen grabs.

The Official "Please Acquire Elijah Dukes" Thread
Steve9347 replied to TheHolyBovine's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The fact of the matter is, there are a bazillion better options than Dewayne Wise who can be had for a cheap return. -
QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 08:27 AM) I havent seen the episode yet but it seems like a stupid ass way to take him off the show. He never hinted on the show that he would do something like that. It just doesnt fit. Yeah, it kinda didn't work.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 7, 2009 -> 06:15 PM) I think Fields or Ramirez would be the best fit and I'm leaning towards Fields. I know he had a solid game yesterday, but do you really want a guy who is guaranteed to strike out like 150 times batting 2nd?

Dewayne Wise couldn't hit the side of a barn with his bat!
