Wonder how Edwin is doing these days. Looking good, Omar.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 10, 2011 -> 02:12 PM) Dammit. Omar second is ridiculous. I'd rather have Beckham up there if Lexi is getting the day off. not me. Omar will be chomping at the bit - we've seen him have some pretty good games in the 2 hole. I wonder when JP's going to get a break from de Aza.

Time to dump Thornton at waiver deadline
The Ginger Kid replied to macsandz's topic in Pale Hose Talk
A Kate Upton video is appropriate for a "dump Thornton" thread. Both are ridiculous -
QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Aug 10, 2011 -> 12:57 PM) Wish it was De Aza, not Rios. I guess you kind of have to see if those two games were a fluke. But I hear you.

How can the White Sox possibly lose money?
The Ginger Kid replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I assume, like any other business, the White Sox have projected earnings. If they fail to meet those projections then they could characterize that as a loss. But Jerry ain't going broke. -
QUOTE (jhonnydanks @ Aug 10, 2011 -> 07:00 AM) don't. stop.

He just needs a GOOD secondary pitch and he doesn't have one. If he would add a change to his repertoire he'd be devastating. -
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 04:56 AM) By the way, Rongey finally admitted in the post-game that the Sox MIGHT need more leadership in the clubhouse. Someone the other players respected who could get on everyone...and also with a sense of humor, I guess in the Rowand/Everett mode. He was having a little bit of difficulty articulating exactly what it was, but you just have the sense there's something terribly off with the chemistry, clubhouse, atmosphere around this team. You don't get the sense that most of the players enjoy being around each other much or want to stay after games. Wow, Rongey said that? That's pretty remarkable that he would bring that sort of thing to light, I wouldn't have expected it from him. And it's a surprise, too, since earlier guys like Danks, Konerko and even Ozzie made mention of what a solid clubhouse it is. Kudos to Rongey for blasting the team and outing this turn of events. Surprised the print guys haven't picked up on it, though. What's up with that?

I'm in until they lose a game, then I'm way the f*** out. Until they win a game. Then I'm back in.

QUOTE (MAX @ Aug 9, 2011 -> 10:31 PM) This tigers game is taking the life out of me. Also, MLB network is annoying as hell. I got it for free when I signed up for comcast, and thought it was alright until tonight. The difference between the game announcers' volume and the commercials' volume is so drastic, worse than any other channel I've ever watched. I feel like I'm going to wake my neighbors up when the commercials come on, and I can barely hear the game. I don't really enjoy playing with my remote all night. I hope the indians score very soon. Isn't it infuriating? There are actually FCC audio level standards that all commercials and programs must meet but commercials exceed them nearly universally. And broadcasters aren't about to bite the hand that feeds them. I have a feeling the game ends right here. That catch by Kipnis was all world.

fail on the squeeze. damnit.

Indians looking to take the lead in the 8th, runner on 3rd one out. Minny loses (wouldn't it be sweet if they finished dead last?).

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 9, 2011 -> 07:28 PM) Is it back to we can only post positives when we win games because we won, so everything must have been right/correct? Let's keep in mind it's the Orioles we're playing, not the Tigers. I don't care what people post, as long as we're still free to reply to it. And please, for the love of god, don't try and sell me on the Tigers being some great team.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 9, 2011 -> 07:05 PM) It is literally the most unhittable pitch in baseball last I knew. yes, but since he's searching desperately for a string of negatives to post about the game, you have to cut him some slack.

REALLY could've used that run.

QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Aug 9, 2011 -> 06:02 PM) What did he do? sorry, stepped away. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 9, 2011 -> 06:06 PM) What about the hip? Gavin looked like he tweaked something fielding a bunt. Hermie came out. Just hope it wasn't the hip (the one he's had trouble with).

s*** - what a great play by Morel
