  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 20, 2013 -> 06:57 PM) I do heavy weight squats with the smith machine and lighter with out. I love/hate it. Despise it while I'm doing it but squats make my athletic perfirmance(especially vertical leap) so much greater. I've ramped up my workouts/nutrition as of late, even scheduling training sessions very early on weekend mornings so I don't ruin my diet the night before by drinking myself into oblivion. 1. Who are you? 2. Can you dunk on an 8' yet?

  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 20, 2013 -> 05:27 PM) Do you freeze yours? I like to and I've been told its weird. Freeze? I haven't. I know the common thing is to refrigerate thin mints, but maybe I'll refrigerate a few Samoas. Wouldn't biting into a frozen Samoa be a bit rough? Yeah I'd say that's weird.
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 20, 2013 -> 03:24 PM) LOL. I just got mine last night. I have allotted myself 2 cookies per day only if I hit the gym hard. So difficult because samoa's are my weakness. They only way to eat Samoas is one whole box at a time.
  5. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 20, 2013 -> 12:22 PM) Ive been pleasantly surprised, but you never know what can happen. Have to beat NU tonight. They only scored about 14 points against us, you'll be fine.
  6. Guys thanks for the help. I had someone take over my computer remotely and found a couple things. I don't know exactly what it was or what he did, but there was something in the registry(?) or whatever he had to delete. It didn't appear that the security essentials thing was the actual virus, but it was catching whatever the problem was.
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 19, 2013 -> 10:57 PM) I'm very concerned about Hossa. This.
  8. Computer guys, Pretty sure I have a trojan on my computer. I have Windows Security Essentials, AVG, and another malware protector. They seemed to have caught the trojan and the computer is operable, not really affecting too much performance, etc. The issue is that every 10 minutes or so Windows Security Essentials gives me a little pop up window that says "detected threats are being cleaned, no action necessary." Until today I had never seen this pop up. If I open it up, I see that it keeps listing out the same trojan every time that has come up, so it has it every few minutes and says it's been removed. Besides it being annoying to have that pop up window, I feel like it means something is obviously still wrong. I'm not a computer guy by any means so I want to figure out how to clean everything out and get rid of whatever's there. A friend had me restart in safe mode and run full scans of Windows Security Essentials and my malware program, as he said that might get rid of it because it's tough to do it when the computer is running like normal. However it seems to still be "there" now that I'm back in normal mode. What are my next steps? The guy said Norton Antivirus is the best out there, if I have to buy it I'll do that, if that's what can fix it. If there's something else I can do or download to try to help, I'm all ears. If I can't do anything but bring it to Geek Squad (or somewhere else?) or something, then I'll do it. Just not sure how to go about it now. Thanks for any help -
  9. He caught the ball with his leg in a normal position, then kicked it out while looking at the guy and hit him. I guess we just have different interpretations of intent. In no way was that any sort of basketball play.
  10. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Feb 18, 2013 -> 06:02 PM) Tons of people kick their legs out on rebounds. I've seen him do it a million times. It wasn't above the shoulders and I really don't think it could be proved intentional. I'm sure his first thought after leaping for a rebound was to look around to see if there was someone he could kick. LOL. What does kicking your leg out accomplish, if not to clear out anyone near you?
  11. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Feb 18, 2013 -> 08:12 AM) Well it certainly changed the entire momentum at the end. Still should have won and Wichita still needed to make every shot they took. I won't be too mad unless we have to play on Thursday because of this. If you're referring to the karate kick, that was about as easy a call as you can get. Not really questionable. No idea what you're doing kicking your leg out at a guy after you already have the rebound.
  12. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 18, 2013 -> 10:52 AM) After the last 2 weeks, i'm beginning to think Illinois has a shot at getting to 10 wins. PSU, NEB, Iowa and OSU and a loss to Michigan on the road. Even with a loss at OSU or Iowa, 9-9 would be pretty great from where they started. PSU and Neb should be locks, I'd put Iowa at about 50/50, OSU maybe 25/75 and Michigan at 10/90. I'll take .500 if we can get there, but at this point 8-10 will get us into the tournament.
  13. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 18, 2013 -> 11:22 AM) Is that why they switched ends during the middle of the 3rd? 2 games on 1 day is probably pushing it. Basically. ND had the option in the first game but didn't take it. Probably, but they tried to make it worth everyone's time and effort. Players and coaches realize the ice won't be pristine and just deal with it. You game plan a bit differently and you could see guys making safer plays as it went on. I'm not sure how much was affected by the sun earlier in the day softening it up too.
  14. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 18, 2013 -> 10:43 AM) Did you go to both games? I only went to the Wisconsin- Minnesota game. As you said the attendance was 50k+ which is huge for college hockey. Part of the reason it looked empty was that I do not believe a lot of people went to both games. When we were arriving Miami-ND fans were all leaving. The result was obviously odd, Minnesota is considerably better than Wisconsin this year, but Ill take the win. Yeah, went to both. Minnesota absolutely dominated most of the game, I think the shots ended 38-19 too. Few good bounces for Wisconsin and they were up 3-0. It also was tough because the ice was getting worse as the game went on. 1st period was fine, but 2nd and 3rd, the south zone was pretty bad. It was period 5 and 6 of the day so it was to be expected.
  15. Satisfying win tonight, thank you for making that as easy as it should be. Essentially locks up the tournament assuming 2 wins at home vs Neb and PSU. @ Iowa would help seeding, as would a win in BTT, looking like 6 or 7 seed for that. If Brandon Paul could stop playing like an ass-clown, that would be great. There's always a few "wtf" moments per game. Chucked 3's for no reason (and resulting in air balls or bricks), bad turnovers, etc. At least Abrams is playing well now, makes up for a lot of it.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 17, 2013 -> 05:29 PM) Not NHL, but watching some of Minn and Wisconsin from Soldier Field, wish they could set stuff up better to see crowd on TV. Can't get a sense of environment. Thats for any hockey game moved to big stadiums. It was a pretty good environment. The Minnesota/Wisconsin game definitely had more fans than the ND/Miami game, though Miami had a pretty good contingent. It appeared a lot of fans came for only one of the games, which is understandable. QUOTE (zenryan @ Feb 17, 2013 -> 05:49 PM) there isnt a crowd to show. place is probably 4/5ths empty. Wrong. Overall attendance was 52,000+ for the day. It was actually a pretty good amount of people there, especially for the second game. I didn't know what to expect going in, but it was a pretty good turnout, actually more than I expected. There were a ton of fans from all 4 teams involved, but a real nice amount of just plain old hockey fans with no allegiance there to take it in. You had a Hawks game going on at the same time, which took some away as well. Definitely something I hope they do again, or perhaps it serves as a test-run for the Hawks taking the next Winter Classic there, which would be 10x better than Wrigley as far as # of tickets available, sightlines, parking/tailgating, amenities, etc.
  17. Can we keep the streak going and beat the purple cats? Can't see this being anything but a really tight game.
  18. Going to the Hockey City Classic tomorrow at Soldier Field. Should be solid.
  19. If you had to condense an 8k, 8 week training program into 7 weeks, which week can you skip? Or is there a different way to modify something like this? http://www.halhigdon.com/training/51095/8K-Training-Guide
  20. Steve - fighting in hockey has its place. But that can be a topic for another time. However, the whole time that was going on I was saying "please fall please fall please fall please fall" so it would end. Maybe the most nervous 15 or so seconds in a long time. Not only the concussion issue, but he was also taking on 12 foot Joe Thornton. I may as well have been out there.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 15, 2013 -> 10:50 AM) Best-case scenario: flu Worst-case scenario: He got injured when a Duck crashed into the net in the 3rd period Tuesday. (And no penalty was called after the Hawks got whistled for the same thing) That's because he was pushed in very hard by IIRC Seabrook. It was actually a good no-call. I think you go to the games so you likely didn't see a good replay, but it was the right call.
  22. Karlsson recalled from Rockford. Crawford isn't at morning skate. No word on if injury/illness or something else. Stay tuned. Hopefully nothing too serious.
  23. Interesting billboard downtown: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/14/b..._n_2686330.html Note: It's about the blow job billboard.
  24. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 25, 2013 -> 12:02 PM) Nope. Meaningless baseball on the radio is brutal. Especially when I'm looking forward to listening to B & B on my commute home, and instead it's a bunch of minor leaguers playing ball. I understand how people watch on TV, but spring training on the radio kills me. Couldn't agree more. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 25, 2013 -> 05:57 PM) Why would you do that? Arrogance, holier than thou attitude, pretense of knowledge? I got to admit I listen on occasion for entertainment value of listening to them make idiots of themselves but usually it's a tough listen. You meant "make idiots of callers" because many of them are indeed some of the dumbest people in Chicago. B and B know more about sports than anyone else on 670 or 1000, they just talk about random stuff a lot of the time - which sometimes is epic.
