QUOTE (gatnom @ Jan 23, 2013 -> 02:32 AM) Not even Miami (OH)? Maybe. After they get pounded by Cincy and Washington, who knows. -

Only game Illinois will be favored in next year: SIU. -
No, never replied to my emails. That was just us being Good Samaritans while scaring the s*** out of our families.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 07:41 PM) And why doesnt btn use the 15 alternate channels when these games go long? No idea, but it's maddening. They only use it when it's set up in advance for football or whatever. There has to be a better reason than "BTN is stupid" but I don't know what that is. -

So beat Nebraska tonight or you may as well not show up for the rest of the season. Already had the "players only meeting" before this game. Nothing left at this point. Here goes nothing. -
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 06:24 PM) Ok, enough reading about this...have you or can you make a post that gives step by step instructions on how to do this? Agreed. I feel like he's saying just put all the s*** in a bowl or something and it's ready...but there has to be more than that, right? Maybe it is that simple though.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 04:33 PM) That's just silly. There was a major discrepancy in penalties before this brawl happened, and it was a carry over with the ref from the last game he officiated when Rockford was shorthanded 9 times compared to getting 1 power play. That, combined, with the rivalry with GR this season, boiled over. Well Kyle Beach is in fact garbage. That's not up for debate. Rockford hasn't been a classy organization since they joined the AHL. I'm not just talking about the instance at hand. -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 09:03 AM) It's kind of a no-brainer, yo. Avoid fast food, eat things that fill you up - no empty calories. The best thing you can do is get your metabolism going again, which is rather easy to do. I don't know your work situation, but wherever you work you can pack food for the day... it really is true that you should eat little things all day long vs two or three big meals. Breakfast is a must. Here's an example of a weekday's eating for me: 6:30 Protein shake at gym 8:30 Overnight oats - these are f***ing delicious (150g greek yogurt, 13g chocolate protein powder, packet strawberries/cream oatmeal, 6 frozen strawberries, almond milk - let sit overnight) 10:30 protein bar noon sandwich, cheese stick, almonds 2:00 greek yogurt 3:30 apple, protein bar 5:30 dinner Once you get your metabolism going (ie, eating like this on weekdays), you burn calories much more efficiently - and that's the key... calories out > calories in to lose weight. It'll fall off of you. Once you get to the weight you want, you can really eat/drink what you want within reason and moderation while doing this and you won't gain any weight back. Then you can even ramp it up to add muscle. Oh, and I repeat, overnight oats are the f***ing s***. I look forward to them every day. Enough already, if I have to read you talking about your overnight oats one more time...well, I'm probably going to have to make them. Now I'm intrigued.

Calling all car people. Have a car that's been sitting in a garage for 1.5 years and hasn't been started. Trying to sell it and get it up and running without spending a ridiculous amount doing so. Got the car jumped, let it run on it's own for a while (maybe 10 mins) with the cables off. Pressed the gas, car shut off immediately. Wouldn't start back up on its own. Jumped the car again, let it sit for a few minutes, started to drive it, and slowly it essentially started to shut itself down - lights started turning off, etc. Car wouldn't start on its own again. Is this a battery issue? Alternator issue? Is there an easy way to test this? Or, could it be that there is bad gas in there (less than 1/4 tank) and that's causing things to malfunction? I asked a few others and the first thought was to get a few gallons of good gas in there and try that before having it towed somewhere and diagnosing from there. If anyone has any advice it's much appreciated.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Jan 21, 2013 -> 09:27 AM) I'm guessing Cubs fans hate this, right? No. The renovation proposals were partially based on fan feedback. Most real Cubs fans will admit to you that Wrigley is a dump. However, they'd rather keep it and renovate it than have to move elsewhere.

Kyle Beach is garbage, as is Rockford. They still play like a UHL team. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 20, 2013 -> 12:56 PM) Northwestern has to be the lowest scoring 1st half team in the history of life. And they somehow throw up 36 at Illinois. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 12:04 PM) They are definitely a tourney team, not even a question IMO. Just ILL fans going from one extreme to the other. Sorry, this is not the same team anymore. To say "not even a question" is just plain wrong. Please find me 7 wins for our remaining schedule. It's really tough. This isn't an overreaction. We're 1-4. Just lost to NW at home. After Nebraska, we play Michigan/MSU/Wisky/IU/Minnesota. It's not good. It's bubble at best right now unless we miraculously beat a top tier B10 team at home or something like that. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 08:49 AM) With as many BS hits as Hawks players have taken over the past few seasons, I'm kind of OK with that. I want our guys to quit getting run. If it takes Carcillo to do that, fine. He can do that while playing on the 4th line, if he must. No reason to have him playing with them on the same line. It's idiotic. -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 16, 2013 -> 05:48 PM) I read the Deadspin article. It proves this was a hoax. It doesn't prove anything about him being in on it. LOL there's no he he's not in on it. That's what that article shows. He claims he met her et al. Please try, to explain that. -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 16, 2013 -> 05:23 PM) He was a victim of the hoax, not a perpetrator. I would suggest that you learn all the facts before making a judgment, but that's probably lost on somebody with your screen name. We all know you haven't read the Deadspin article. So go do that, then try to come up with a logical explanation for how he's not in on it besides OMG HE WENT TO ND SO HE'S INNOCENT. Man, too bad Lance Armstrong didn't go to ND too. -

There's really only one explanation here, Te'o was in on it. He says he met her, met her family, etc. Can't wait for the follow up Deadspin story just blowing up Te'o for being in on every single part of it. All of this to win a bunch of awards? Or...? -

Well...yeah QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 15, 2013 -> 10:09 PM) You must be pretty awful to lose to Wisconsin We warmed them up. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 15, 2013 -> 10:09 PM) Unbelievable. Wisconsin is Indiana's kryptonite. And Wisconsin is alone in 1st. Weird. So much for being a B10 bubble team/not with the top tier, at least for now. -

QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 14, 2013 -> 09:34 PM) Most of the time the best time for the teacher to be around is when the student is using the new knowledge. Good point. Never heard of this flipped classroom idea but it makes sense. Instead of the helpless child asking the parents to re-read a textbook or sample math problems and then help, the teacher is right there. Then you might not "waste" another 20 minutes going over the last night's HW since half the people couldn't do it, etc.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 14, 2013 -> 11:15 PM) It's funny how much your cravings change as you change your diet. Tonight I had the hugest craving for a turkey burger with a side salad. That's just weird. The other day I wanted a piece of salmon with Brussel sprouts so bad I had to go to Mariano's and get it or I wasn't hungry for dinner And here I always thought you were a guy. Congrats on being pregnant!

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 13, 2013 -> 07:14 PM) How about Billick in the first game? He was terrible. He was suggesting the Seahawks might kick a fg down 6 with 1:30 left if Wilson were to get sacked around the 35 on a 4th and 10 instead of going for it...then, after Atlanta kicked onside with 8 seconds left, his argument for why this was such a colossal error was because Seattle would be closer to the end zone for purposes of the hail mary as opposed to the fact that they were actually much closer to being able to make a quick completion and get in fg range. Just bad. Yeah, he said something like "this is probably 4 down territory." Um, yes?
