  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 01:21 PM) Honestly...a lot of them probably can't be allowed to go home right now. They're material witnesses in a major police investigation. Well, get them somewhere that's not in front of a camera. If they need to talk to police, as much as that is traumatizing, that's fine. But a guy with a microphone? Get away.
  2. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 01:18 PM) The media needs to stop interviewing children. I fully agree with this. I know people want details, but this is not the way to do it. Get these kids home, and try to not have them think about it even more and go through it again.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 01:14 PM) Do we know this? CNN reported that exact name.
  4. These poor kids describing what they heard and were told...they won't fully comprehend this for a while.
  5. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 01:02 PM) It puts things in perspective in a hurry, doesn't it? I know that phrase gets thrown around a lot when things happen, but this takes it to another level.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 12:57 PM) My first child is due to be born any day now, I don't even know what to say or think about it. Things like this make me scared to every try to raise children. I know we can't live our life in fear, etc. But the world is a ridiculous place. This is just so...I don't even know the word for it. I'm sitting here watching it on TV, it's almost like this can't be real, can it? It's hard to actually comprehend this is real, this happened. I know we argue about mindless stuff on end on here...but God bless all of you. None of that's important in the grand scheme of things.
  7. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 04:58 PM) Law Firm vs Philly or Stephen Jackson vs Minny? Dallas Clark vs NO or Benjamin Watson vs Skins? (Oh how I wish Gronk was back) Oh and for my other league P. Manning or RGIII? Law Firm Clark Manning. Play it safe. Even if RG was healthy it'd be a toss up, if he plays you know he's not 100% and likely can't pick up as much on the ground. Minimize the risk.
  8. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 04:23 PM) Some Wisconsin-Rhoads stuff bouncing around. Also, I see the Big 10 is considering sensible divisions. http://btn.com/2012/12/13/take-the-survey-...-do-you-prefer/

  11. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 01:57 PM) Come on Illini fans, whats the deal with there being so many tickets up for grabs for when IU comes to CU? There's probably been at least 30-40 peegs members say they just bought tickets for themselves and their families. That place should be packed with excitement with Groce at the helm and the turnaround season. Should be an easy win, fans would rather go to a game where the outcome is in doubt. Seriously though, Mich and OSU are weekend games. They should be gone fairly soon. It's a Thursday (almost impossible for Chicago people), with some fans probably waiting for the other shoe to drop (last year's bball season, football imploding, etc) before jumping in, right or wrong.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 11:40 AM) Agreed. But that indian head sweater gives me heart palpitations. I read a lot about this every day, especially on the fan side. This one's different. There are people that are changing their ways - a lot of them will watch their own team, but not go to as many games live. Not buying more merch. Not going to buy Center Ice. Not watching every playoff game. Sure, it's only one person in each example, but the sentiment is certainly out there. In Chicago, there are enough idiots who love the goal song that the building will fill regardless. Other markets won't be so lucky. To me, it's about whatever makes you comfortable as a fan. In theory, we should all stay away forever from this garbage, but we all know we can't. But there are various levels of "rebelling," for lack of a better term. I've tried to figure out what my plan of action is when (if?) they ever come back, because this has hurt me to the core. One man will not make a change in the NHL, so I just have to do what I'm comfortable with.
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 03:18 PM) There will be more than one scholarship. They will give out 3 scholarships in the class of 2014 if they can get the guys they want. They can't unless there are transfers, there aren't any available.
  14. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 05:58 PM) Hard to believe that article, when Roth comes out and says everything in that article was either fabricated or taken out of context.... http://indiana.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1401618 As for SoxBadgers post, citing urban dictionary? LOL So he backtracked, and that makes what he said fail to exist in the first place? Let's re-write history.

  16. I'm very sorry to hear that. Surgery is very scary.
  17. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 11:32 AM) That opening schedule doesn't look as tough now as maybe earlier in the season, with Purdue being horrible and Wisky struggling. Both are on the road so no guarantees. I think the Minnesota game is going to be key. The Gophers are a pretty good team and probably pretty much on par with the Illini so far. Winning that one will go a long way to helping them finish in the top half of the conference. I say go 2-2 in those 4, you take it. Go 1-3, time to start biting the fingernails and go 3-1, take it to bank and jump up and down with joy. Well then what do I do when we go 4-0?
  18. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 10:49 AM) If you put together a team that wins (aka consistent performance) and scores the most points in the league (aka a very good team), you should be given some sort of advantage. I'm only guaranteed $40 in this bulls*** league. Half our pot goes to 1st and 2nd overall regular season, the other half goes to 1st/2nd/3rd in the playoffs.
  19. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 01:30 AM) Is it a bad thing if she wants to limit the amount and you go over? This was going to be my suggestion, just talk to each other and come up with a limit or ballpark. It could be weird but you'd rather do that then have someone show up with a $25 gift and someone show up with a $150 gift because it wasn't discussed beforehand. You can't go over by much if at all, or it's just terribly awkward for her, and she could actually get upset. You're not being a nicer guy by doing so.
  20. QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 10:39 PM) Your bias towards inferior teams (ie mid-majors) is amusing. Your bias against the Illini is amusing?
  21. Illinois #10 in both polls. First time in top 10 since 05-06. There was a 0% chance I thought we'd be ranked in the top 10 at any point this season. I would have bet we wouldn't be ranked at all at any point, really. LOL at 3 AP voters not ranking them at all. You should not be allowed to vote if you're that stupid.
  22. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 11:54 AM) He'll be there soon enough. He's still just a college kid. You know what you're right, he's just a college hockey player with no responsibilities, we don't know what it's like, let him have some fun.
  23. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 11:16 AM) done drinking #official Kaner's ashamed of you.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 10:04 AM) Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger Further NHL regular season cancellations today. Thru Dec 30th. Sigh.
