  1. Current espn.com front story: In a matchup of backup quarterbacks, the Bears won't lose much with Jason Campbell taking snaps. *** Uh, no.
  2. Good start to the Maui Invitational. Butler over Marquette by 1 on a buzzer beating, one handed, running 3.
  3. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 07:05 AM) My vote would be: 1 Braxton Miller 2 Manti Te'o 3 Johnny Manziel I don't disagree with your point about Tuitt and Nix--they are absolute beasts (both are back next year by the way), but Te'o is the piece that makes the machine run so well. Still, I'd rather see him win SI Sportsman of the Year than the Hiesman. Braxton Miller has had an amazing year and if OSU beats Michigan I think he deserves it. LOL. Explain your reasoning of Miller for the Heisman. His stats aren't even close to some other QBs. He's a decent passer, nothing great. Undefeated team = Heisman winner? Lame.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 19, 2012 -> 01:49 PM) Forgive my rant here: Hockey is the most poorly run sport in the history of mankind. Here we are with another work stoppage, another lost season. You've got Fehr holding out like this is the national pastime, baseball. This is hockey, a sport with a very very very limited fanbase and limited TV dollars. What the hell do the players want? Seems to me they make a helluva lot of money compared to the amount of money in the pot in this sport with a limited audience. So this season is wiped out. After killing a whole season do you think the owners will cave at all next summer? It'll be back to the negotiating tables again about next September and they'll have 3 weeks to get a deal done again. At least football was smart enough to realize they had to get a deal done. Hockey? What a bunch of morons to let this drag out like this again. I can't forgive your rant when you probably haven't spent 10 seconds researching the lockout and are throwing it all on the players for being greedy.
  5. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Nov 18, 2012 -> 05:09 PM) What are the best ways to improve your credit score? Pay bills on time Lower your debt to credit ratio Don't cancel any current cards (need credit history) Don't open too many new cards at once Check your credit history to make sure there aren't any errors
  6. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Nov 18, 2012 -> 03:24 PM) Alabama-ND would be the biggest snoozefest Title game ever. Sorry, nothing appealing about 2 mediocre offenses pillow fighting each other for the title. Sorry the score won't be 75-72, but it could still be a great football game. Coming from a guy with a team in the SEC, this post is interesting.
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 17, 2012 -> 02:14 AM) Even outside of that, it really was quite the exciting game regardless of how bad Illinois played. Love College Basketball. So glad it's back. And exciting trying to piece together everything with the buffering. Just epic all around.
  8. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Nov 16, 2012 -> 11:33 PM) The pregame stream isnt working well for me, hopefully better during game. It's basically working for no one. All the Illinois fans are crashing it.
  9. Time for some late night Illinois/Hawaii streaming action
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 16, 2012 -> 03:57 PM) I didnt know you were a ND fan. Unfortunately they are completely secondary to the Illini, and it's not close. But I grew up with ND.
  11. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 16, 2012 -> 01:50 PM) Hey look, lots of offense! Something shiny! Oregon is ranked #1 because they were ranked ahead of KSU and ND pre-season. That's the only reason. Enough already. I'm an ND fan as well, but you're outrageous at this point. Oregon is ahead of them because they clearly appear to be the better football team. Same with KSU. This has zero to do with pre-season rankings this late in the season. If you have watched all 3 teams play, and think ND is better than either of them - then you're just a homer. Hell, even if you haven't watched them play, look at the results of the games (as the article went through), you'd have to put Oregon and KSU ahead of them.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 16, 2012 -> 08:08 AM) It really is strange that with all of the talent in the city of Chicago, they can't have one good college basketball team. I keep hoping DePaul will bouceback too, remembering all of the way back to the Rod Strickland days. This makes it sound like there are a lot of basketball teams in Chicago that have the potential to be good and get some of those recruits.
  13. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Nov 16, 2012 -> 09:45 AM) I know Barbie once said, "Math is hard," but . . . 2012 "Kids Day" Sunday bleacher cost 7/8/12 (me and 2 kids) $38 + $1 + $1 = $ 40 2013 Family Sunday bleacher cost (me and 2 kids) $15 + $15 + $15 = $45 $40 For one, parking his cheaper, and that's part of this plan. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it was in your post, you get a $1 ticket for every paid adult ticket. So, you'd have to buy 2 adult tickets, no? I was going with family of 4 so you get 2 $1 tickets. So yeah, 2013 is a better deal.
  14. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Nov 15, 2012 -> 04:52 PM) I think the old format where kids got in for 1$ with a paid adult on select "Kids' Day" Sundays were a better deal, but this will open it up to more folks on more than just a few, select Sundays. It's actually not a better deal if you do the math...
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 15, 2012 -> 03:44 PM) Of course. I will resist the urge to make a really smart-ass comment based on the way you worded the bolded. my point was the cage/chin guard keeps the helmet in place. Smart ass away haha...it's just the point that face masks don't do much for concussions. Sure it helps keep it in place, but it's the violence of the hits that cause the concussions.
  16. QUOTE (farmteam @ Nov 15, 2012 -> 09:54 AM) People who know more about Hockey than me: Do you think we'll have a season, or not? My guess is no, but your guess is as good as mine. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 15, 2012 -> 10:04 AM) Why is it that hockey concussions tend to be way more severe than NFL concussions? Or is the NFL just way more lenient on when a player can come back? Simple, you have boards and glass (and ice compared to grass), and guys are moving much faster while skating than running. Also, cages don't really make a difference on concussions, mainly face injuries. Concussions are caused by the brain hitting the skull.
  17. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 11:47 AM) And we have multiple people in my league who said that they were able to make changes during that window. Some of them lost and said that because they made changes there were no issues. So how can you be 100%? Why would they just blatantly lie for no gain? Just to cause mayhem? Its over, Yahoo didnt do anything, its up to the leagues. No reason to continue. Did they actually post something? It's up to the leagues? You were waiting for commissioner Yahoo to wipe out all results.
  18. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 11:27 AM) And people wonder why I am cynic and dont trust people. If people are willing to go to these lengths to win internet battles, I imagine they are willing to lie to win actual money in fantasy football. Sporadically throughout the afternoon is what he said. The window immediately right before kickoff, which was the most critical to all of this? It was certainly down.
  19. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 10:59 AM) You are a liar according to Krush. haha Good one. I could get in sporadically too, never said anything different. But it was sure down before kickoff for many people. haha
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 03:54 AM) Took my dog a year or so to get over the teething/chewing phase. Nothing was safe. Yeah, we're there. She'll chew through wood, books, etc. I'll be glad when this is over. She thinks anything and everything is a project and needs to be chewed. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 09:49 AM) The super strength Kongs were the only thing that never got totally destroyed. We had the "beginner" one to start and eventually she got through that, so we've moved up a level or two.
  21. Dog has turned into quite the chewer. Every toy she has is not something to play with, it's something to chew and try to destroy. In the past few weeks she's burned through almost everything. Anyone have good recs for some really durable toys? We do use edible things like rawhides, etc, but it'd be nice to have some that aren't edible, just toys. Before I go walking down an entire aisle of toys, wanted to see if any of you had ones you've used in the past, or things I should be looking for - keeping in mind that again, she'll try to essentially tear it into pieces, not just play with it.
  22. Aaaaaand then you do what you do at the end of every topic you start to discuss. The end.
  23. First of all, I never told you what to do, you can DQ it, count it, makes changes, whatever. But that's a league decision, not Yahoo. Yahoo is hosting the numbers for the league. You set up your own league rules, as everything is customized. They just give you the tools to do it. If this happened 20 years ago, before hosting the stats online, what would you do in this situation? That's the answer you are looking for. As far as not wanting anything from Yahoo, you definitely said "Id like some information from yahoo. Like whether people were able to make changes or not." As far as being "governed" by them, bulls***. They can say whatever they want about week 10, or make suggestions, but no league actually has to follow it. They aren't running each individual league, period. If they even attempted to do that, which they won't, you'd see a mass exodus to ESPN next year.
