QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 05:53 PM) I apologize in advance for bringing this name into the discussion but everything about the way Klein throws a football reminds me of Tebow in college. You're far from the first one, I think we've all heard it in the media a bunch, so no worries. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 04:56 PM) Oregon has probably 2 of the most dangerous players in the country with the ball in their hands. Their D isnt great, but it doesnt need to be in theory. Also Krush, im laying hard on ILL this weekend. You've taken 7 out of the last 11 in columbus, the spread is ridiculous. It's what, like 28? I still wouldn't touch it. I think it's all about how many points Urban wants to put up. Anything over 40 and OSU probably covers. -

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 02:15 PM) No thanks, SEC vs Oregon v1.0 wasn't good enough to re-do. I'll take KState or Alabama vs...gulp, Notre Dame. I hate the Irish, but I don't want to see Oregon's Pac10/12 track meet get stymied yet again against anyone east of the Mississippi. A game won by a FG as time expired wasn't good enough? Make it seem like the Auburn dominated that game. As far as stymied, they did a good job against the run, but Oregon threw all over on them. They did have 449 total yards. If Oregon goes through the rest of the schedule undefeated, I see no way they shouldn't play Bama in the championship game. As far as Klein, he's not your prototypical pocket passer and won't be an NFL star, but the guy gets the job done and that offense scores a lot of points. I don't see how anyone could not be impressed at this point. -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 03:26 PM) The other thing about Dunn is his walks are overrated. If he doesn't drive himself home, he doesn't score very many times. Now you can blame it on others, but its been the case his entire career. Only twice in his career has he scored more than 60 times in a season via someone else. Someone's walks can be overrated? Now I've heard everything. Walks are overrated in a game that is based around getting on base and not making the next out. Brilliant.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 12:20 AM) That was a dud. Sucks that they had 3 days to market the game and it had a late start on a really cold night. MLS scheduling is poor, to say the least. Yeah, super late game on Halloween not a good night to get a decent crowd going. Really unfortunate they gave up an early goal, then gave one up like 20 seconds into the 2nd half. I felt like all the air was out of the place at that point and it was essentially game over. I had fun though (we went in Section 8), I'll definitely go back to some games next year. -

Agreed, less talk about this guy, more talk about Jereme Richmond! -
QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Oct 31, 2012 -> 03:00 PM) Look up the word "sarcasm". Then please stop posting about your idiotic theory that is impossible to even prove. Sorry, next time I'll put it in green. Ridiculous.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Oct 30, 2012 -> 10:30 PM) I think it's hilarious that halfway through Big Ten play, Indiana still technically controls its own destiny in getting to the conference championship game. I say "technically" because I in no way expect it to actually happen, but it's funny that it's even a possibility at all. There was some ridiculous scenario that after the Penn St game, we could be like 2-6 in conference and be in the championship game. Obviously that went away, but I see what you're saying. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 30, 2012 -> 04:17 PM) You guys mock my declarations a lot, but I challenge you to go back and read some of my predictions in the past. I was taught to never toot your own horn so I don't brag when my predictions are correct which they were A LOT this past season. Make predictions all you want. But your complacent/not complacent reasoning was beyond stupid. Giants obviously didn't win last year because they were complacent from 2010. But after disappointment in 2011, they decided you know what, let's win it again, so they did. But next year, they'll be complacent, that will be THE reason they won't win the world series. Most players in post-game interviews already said "I don't give two s***s what happens next year, I'm on cruise control."

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 30, 2012 -> 02:52 PM) This wouldnever fly politically, but I'd love to see it... if you are in an area ordered to evacuate from a natural disaster by proper government authorities... and if you had time to do so (say, at least 24 hours)... and you are not PHYSICALLY DISABLED from doing so... and you stay anyway... the full cost of any rescue operations or other assistance brought to you, YOU have to pay for. And that will be administered as a debt to government, like tax liability, which immediately rises to the top of all held debts. You want to be stupid? Fine. You pay for your stupidity. Agreed. It's hard to feel sorry for people that had the chance to leave, but instead said "f*** this, no storm is going to move me out of my house, I'm a tough guy."

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 30, 2012 -> 02:31 PM) There is no. f***ing. reason. on. earth. that a coach should be able to restrict a player's transfer anywhere. Absolutely none. These are amateur, unpaid athletes. The coach is making millions and can drop on a dime and leave the college, leaving the player at the whim of the new coach. And then if the player wants to transfer to be with a good fit? Sorry, you have to sit out a year. The player has no protection if the coach leaves, why should the coach get protection for when the player leaves? LOL. Yes, let's have NCAA free agency. Maybe you should consider why it's a rule? Has to be some reason, right? Not "no f***ing reason on earth." QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 30, 2012 -> 02:32 PM) Waiving a fee != getting paid. Semantics. They keep the money. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 30, 2012 -> 01:58 PM) LOL. What if a student came in on scholarship, and realized they'd be a better fit at a different school's program. Do you realize how outrageous it would be for the school to deny that? NCAA basketball is not a business for the athletes. If it was they'd be getting paid. Scholarship. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 30, 2012 -> 08:25 AM) I hate the sitting out a year rule for players. Coaches jump aEvery year. If done legally, who cares. LOL, that would make NCAA like the NBA with free agency. There's absolutely no way you could get rid of that rule. -

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/maryland-lose...9lYKqufl5CW1LYF Maryland has lost 4 QBs for the season. They are starting a LB or TE at QB this week. They are +7.5 against GT. That seems like the easiest money in the history of the world. Saying that, they'll likely cover, possibly even win. But wow, to be without any QBs, by definition. Yikes. -

Guy plays for BT team. Guy wants to leave BT team. Guy shouldn't be able to freely go to another BT team to compete against team that had him. This isn't free agency. Not sure what's so tough about this one. -
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 29, 2012 -> 08:19 PM) They have those warnings right now. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/b...0,1588490.story If you live/work in certain areas, LSD is a necessary road sometimes. The real issue is that people should have been let out of work early to avoid it all together. If there are warnings to stay off LSD, then it's not a necessary road anymore. That was the mistake people made during the blizzard, and they had what was coming to them. 20 foot waves? I'd be staying off it now too. Common sense.

QUOTE (SnB @ Oct 29, 2012 -> 04:23 PM) 1-2 day old beer is such a terrible smell. However 1-2 day old champagne is not.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 29, 2012 -> 04:14 PM) Sounds like someone who doesnt drive on LSD often. LSD is generally the best road when there is a snow storm as it is easy to clean and they do it very regularly. It was a "perfect storm" that a bus went off the road at one of the worst exists, effectively shutting down the road going north. Im pretty sure there werent any issues going south, so it was literally just a fluke. I have used the road every day for the last 7 years, at the last minute I chose not to take it because the visibility seemed extremely poor. This wasn't your run of the mill snow storm. Anyone jumping on LSD in the middle of that had it coming to them.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 29, 2012 -> 02:05 PM) We go to the same vet? Weird. I was also on the board for the Dog Park I've had nothing but great experiences with them. Rumor has it there might be a "big dog" park a bit further west at some point? Dog park gossip.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 29, 2012 -> 02:02 PM) How many schollies is IU allowed to have? More than every other team it seems. Uh oh, going to bring out the IU fans to try to debunk the whole "Creaning" thing. -
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 29, 2012 -> 01:39 PM) Joxer, no doubt about it it's still on the fans to show up. The Sox recognized they were to expensive and made the necessary cuts, and the transportation can be a hassle but it can definitely be a hassle to get to Wrigley as well. To me, besides the problem of not winning enough in recent years, it's the area around the Cell. The area is just not a point of interest unless the Sox are playing there, there isn't a lively, young crowd living there, etc. I don't know if that will ever change, but if you can get that area to become more of a destination than just to see Sox games then I think you'll see a boost in attendance. I know there's only so much the Sox can do about that, but it's absolutely a reason attendance is down, or nowhere near comparable to the North side. Average Joe "Cubs" fan gets the buddies together. Hey, let's meet up at (fill in one of hundreds of places here) beforehand, then after the game, we can head to (fill in one of hundreds of places here). It's an event, it's an all day thing. And it's all walking distance once you're in the area. At the cell, it's either put together an effort to tailgate, or you can meet for a beer at Bacardi. You're going to the game just to go to the game. That works for me, but for a lot of people it just doesn't cut it.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 29, 2012 -> 10:49 AM) Judging from my apartment, this weekend was a huge success. I wish I could tell you what the hell happened. But seriously, this place is trashed...damn it. That's why you can't have nice things. I'm imagining a giant hole where you threw someone through a wall.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 29, 2012 -> 01:14 PM) That was an awesome home game against the Sharks on Saturday night. It's good to see Hossa out there playing so well. I told you all that Michal Rozsíval was a better-than-advertised defender, and decent at starting the break. I'm a little concerned about that hit Seabs' took, but Q said he's day-to-day after the game. Go Hawks! Well played.
