  2. I agree there's a line, the line is different for everyone and not easy to find. I find out years later we were big-time paying Dee, Deron, their families, et al? I'm pretty furious. Not "hey, it was a great run though." Tainted in my mind forever. That's the stuff I'm talking about. I don't want to be so damn dirty just to get a championship...because I won't look at it the same way anyway, so what's the point.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 02:40 PM) Do you feel the same way about your bball team? Yes.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 01:30 PM) I guess you don't want to compete for national championships? Cause that's the way to the BCS title. I don't want to either. All "Illinois sucks" jokes aside, I'd rather play it clean (or at least clean compared to the big cheaters) and not have to possibly face terrible sanctions later on.

  6. Thanks for the heads up on the typo, passing that along.
  7. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 11:36 AM) I think this is a whole other animal. The bigten network isn't a HUGE network like ESPN. It also shows all of the teams in the conference. This is going to be a TV show, on a national network available to everyone, about one team. I'm sure the Yankees are pissed.

  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 10:29 AM) I am sure this will be the next wave of building done at college campuses. You can bet other programs won't get left behind. It used to be practice facilities. Now that everyone has them, I'll bet these dorms are the next big thing. Completely agree, the elite programs that have money for this will jump on board.
  10. The only thing that dorm was missing was a stripper room (maybe that's on the next tour).
  11. That thing is incredible. Zero reason to pay them...if you were stud, why the hell wouldn't you go to Kentucky? I'd be in.
  12. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 06:50 AM) Not to mention the 5 star luxury resort you get to stay at on campus for your year spent on campus. Personal chefs and all. It's a joke. Calipari is ruining the game through all of these loopholes. The NCAA or NBA has to step in and do something about this one and done thing. They could literally have 4 of the top 5 players in the 2013 class. Throw in Andrew Wiggins, who is likely reclassifying to 2013, it's disgusting. This guy is far and away the best prospect since LeBron. Didn't know that. No way Illinois can ever compete with that, all freshman are required to stay in the dorms. I'm sure we're not the only school that does that.
  13. Guys, Below is a short survey about technology, mainly smart phones. This is to help out a family member. No personal information has to be filled out, just answer 13 multiple choice questions and you're done. Anyone that fills this out, thanks in advance! https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/VTBZGJ5

  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 4, 2012 -> 12:00 PM) Pat Neshek's wife gave birth yesterday and the baby died 23 hours later http://www.latimes.com/sports/sportsnow/la...story?track=rss Extremely sad Wow. I can't come up with a worse scenario to try to get through. That is so sad.
  16. LOL Sportscenter. Top 10 plays, #3 was Dan Johnson's 3 home runs. Problem is they showed Konerko's HR as the 2nd one...then for the 3rd one..."Johnson, back on the left side for his 3rd one."
  17. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 08:36 PM) Happy bday Jake and other guy Burn

  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 12:07 PM) I'm doing hot yoga tonight (and weekly moving forward) to prep my old (29 year old) body for the coming basketball season. Anyone have experience with this? I'm looking forward to the experience. Sexy.
  20. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 11:06 AM) This isn't the stone age, or even the Bill Wirtz-era Blackhawks. Fans at the game =/= fans of the team. The internet, HD television, and many other outlets allow people to follow the team just fine. IMO there are more fans born in Chicago that follow the White Sox than follow the Cubs. Cubs fans are largely boosted by tourists and transplants from Detroit, Minny, Cleveland. I don't know where you live, but no way in hell.
  21. Pretty cool that it comes down to the last day and a lot is up in the air. So we know the 5 AL teams in, but there's a lot of scenarios. Yankees win, they win the division and have the 1 seed. Yankees lose and Orioles win, they play a tiebreaker game Thursday for the division. Winner of Okaland/Texas wins the division. If the Yankees lose and Orioles win, you then have 3 teams tied with 94 wins...the winner of the Yankees/Orioles tiebreaker game would have the same record as the A's/Rangers winner, so I believe home field and #1 seed would go to head to head record between the two tied teams. NL the only battle is for the #1 seed, Washington and Cincy with same records...now sure who holds the head to head record advantage there if they tie.
  22. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 09:54 PM) So you make a big deal about lay off the coaching staff after the flop against ASU but now make this statement only a couple games later. 1 loss, with it being on the road, at night in tough environment, and without a quarterback, and after a well coached game at home...lot different than after getting blown out for 2 consecutive games at home, and seeing some of the exact same problems not be fixed week after week.
  23. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 08:13 PM) Haha dont worry Bielema will do his best to make it interesting. Youll enjoy the "confused" looks on the sidelines. We have the most confused coaching staff in the nation. You want confused, just wait.
  24. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 06:38 PM) If the Sox was located in Wrigleyville, then I would never go. I live in the south suburbs and I never went to Wrigleyville in my entire life because it's just too far for me. The White Sox's location in the South Side is a perfect location for me because all I have to do is jump on I-80 then I-57, or I can take the Rock Island Metra line. I'm tired of people saying the sox is at a bad location, because I don't think that's entirely true. The Sox's location in the South Side is much more convenient for me than Wrigleyville. However, the reason I don't go to that many games is because I simply can't afford it that much, which how much parking is as well as how overpriced the tickets and food at the stadium is. Even taking the metra burns a hole in my wallet. You're one person...moving to Wrigleyville means losing you and a few others, and adding thousands of random people.
  25. Badger, I know you're probably down about Wisconsin right now, but don't worry, we'll make them look like Alabama Saturday. Wisconsin -14.5? Is that the first half line or something?
