QUOTE (Heads22 @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 06:27 PM) Biggest issue is the video coordinator should have known better, but the head coach/director of operations also should have been cognizant of what was going on. Obviously, this is a big deal to me, being as it's exactly what I do. No, Kelly should have known better. He's responsible for everything on, and pertaining to, that football field and practice. The end. -
QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 01:31 PM) If we win 4 out of the last 10 detroit still has to win 6 to win outright. Do people realize how unlikely both of those things happening is? We're a game up. It's really simple to follow this race. It's every day, you can't even look at 10 games at this point. All this "if we go x-x, they have to go x-x" stuff is out the window. Play, wake up the next day and figure out where it's at. Repeat.

Sooner than later we'll have to replace our mattress. Who's bought one recently? What do you look for (besides laying on it for 5 minutes)? Anyone have the memory foam stuff - good, bad, indifferent? Never bought a mattress before, open to any advice on style, brand, etc.

QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 23, 2012 -> 10:07 PM) I want us to make it for the sole reason that we'll have a chance to win it all. We may not be a cinch, but the talent is there for us to get hot and win the thing. I'd rather get swept out than miss it, sure, but it's all about that chance at a ring. Exactly. Baseball is a clusterf*** of randomness in the postseason. All you have to do is get there, and you have a shot. But saying "well we got there, whatever happens now is just a bonus, etc" is just stupid beyond belief.

QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Sep 23, 2012 -> 09:38 PM) My Dad is a Twins fan, usually during baseball season I don't want to talk to him. Now, I feel like I should bake him a cake. This feels wrong to be cheering for the Twins. But I'll do it. I kinda don't even care if we were to get swept out of the playoffs(at this point... if we make it I probably would retract this)- I just want to GET there. WTF is the point of getting to the playoffs to get swept, and not even care? That's the dumbest mentality I've ever seen. OMG WE MADE THE PLAYOFFS. Who gives a s***, the point is to win a championship. The end.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 23, 2012 -> 07:29 PM) Notre Dame has a Top 5 defense and Manti Te'o is the best player in college football. However, despite two interceptions by his own quarterback and four by the opposing quarterback, Brian Kelly still thinks that running ability is the most important trait in a quarterback. Every play that Golson plays over Rees is a terrible mistake, and Kelly needs to discover something called a play action pass. If he can learn those two things, ND is a very likely BCS bowl team and has a reasonable shot at playing Alabama in the title game. With their lackluster offense and their brutal schedule, there's no way they'll play Alabama in the title game, and I still think it's going to be really tough to play in a BCS game. They'd need MAJOR offensive improvement. Besides the Navy game, it hasn't impressed. -

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Sep 23, 2012 -> 09:49 AM) It seemed like he was saying more than just the coach at fault, but I think it is fair the kid knew the conditions as well. It is very sad none the less and definitely gave everyone a negative view of the current ND coach and his staff. "I'm not going up there, too much wind coach!" "Get the f*** out of here kid, get up there or you're fired." You're throwing that much pressure on some college kid who loves ND football and wants to be part of the team, etc. Decision not exactly in his hands. -

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Sep 22, 2012 -> 10:56 PM) It's an accident, but those scissor lifts usually have a sticker on them saying not to go up in winds over 25 MPH or so. A lot of people screwed up that day. Not sure what you're trying to say here, but I really, really hope it's not putting blame on the kid. -
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 04:35 PM) /shrugs We put it to a vote and the league voted against waivers. We are all friends and super competitive, we watch the games and part of the competition is getting the next big guy first. To each their own, we have a waiting list so we must be doing something right. And if you have a family commitment that day and not near a computer, you're punished. Agreed, very stupid to not have waiver rules.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 02:56 PM) It really is. I didn't even glance at the Rules of the Road book and I got 100% on it. Most of the time the answer is obvious. I remember one that was something like: When you approach an intersection with pedestrians in the crosswalk you should: A) slow down until they are safely across B) speed up C) flash your lights and honk your horn. I was thinking there would be all sort of random signs on there that you see once a year, or ridiculous rules that you never run into, but yeah, super easy.

I imagine a ton of people bought game 3 tickets thinking it's a possible game 5 or whatever since they don't know the format, or even looked at the standings. Even if you didn't know the new format, as the low seed you're still only getting 2 games.
-
I had to take it a few years ago when I renewed my license as well. Wasn't expecting it. Was worried for a second about passing it until I started going through it to realize it's the easiest test ever.

QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 11:46 AM) I don't get it, how can they be selling tickets to games that don't exist yet? I'm not talking about if Detroit wins the division, I get that part. It looks like games 1 and 2 will be played in Yankee Stadium or Camden Yards by the standings and under 2 weeks to go. Not this year. ALDS home game 3 is the one not likely to be used. "For the 2012 Postseason only, the five-game Division Series will begin with two home games for lower seeds, followed by up to three home games for higher seeds. This one-year change, which eliminates a travel day prior to a decisive Game Five of the Division Series, was necessary because the 2012 regular season schedule was established before the agreement on the new Postseason format was reached. Next year, the Division Series will return to the 2-2-1 format used in previous years."

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 21, 2012 -> 10:20 AM) Upper Deck and worse are what remains. 2 UD Box, plus fees= $133 And well worth it.

9/19 White Sox at Royals

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 19, 2012 -> 09:29 PM) It glanced off his glove right as he was running into the fence. He probably took his eye off it for a split second anticipating contact. By the eyes of many, then Jordan Danks shouldn't ever be a defensive replacement, because he's made two huge errors in LF this season, one in LA, the other a ball he lost that would have been the final out of the game, and we barely survived that one. That ball with Danks was in the lights. But anyway, you don't use defensive replacements while trailing. -

Unless the ball actually hits his glove, which it didn't appear it did, that wouldn't be ruled an error anywhere. But we all know it's a ball that should have been caught. -

And there's some Detroit OF defense for us. -
Cubs game started at about 11:00pm. I'd think there'd be some code that you can't play baseball until 2:00am in the neighborhood, but apparently not.

QUOTE (chisoxfan04 @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 09:56 AM) I was unable to get my money back or to resell them. So in that case, I have 2 seats to the game: Bleacher 161, row 8, seats 14/15.. I bought them from stubhub and they are the instant prints; does anyone want them? I can't go to the game and I would rather them not go to waste, I could just email to you. Thanks Sent you a PM.

9/17 Tigers at White Sox

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 17, 2012 -> 10:16 AM) The loss was the Tigers’ ninth straight in one-run games. They haven’t had a one-run win since Aug. 24. That's incredible. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 10:08 PM) Wisconsin gets bailed out by one of the weakest offensive pass interference calls in the history of football. The Big 10 should just close up shop this year because it is garbage. Yeah, that was a joke. Also LOL at Bielema for taking a completely stupid time out during that sequence as well. Luckily they got a punt return TD, because the offense was terrible again. If Wisconsin is really this bad, anyone can win that division (OK, maybe not Indiana). -

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 03:21 PM) I still wouldn't get too excited fom what I have seen from him in high school. Not like he is bringing Jabari with. Well, I'll put more stock into national recruiting rankings, so I'm excited. QUOTE (gatnom @ Sep 15, 2012 -> 05:22 PM) The quotes from his father make it sound like he's bringing Demetrius Jackson with, though. And then it gets really fun. -
The Score just said "Floyd was scheduled, however it now says TBA." Not sure what source they were referencing, but apparently it may be up in the air a bit now.
