QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 2, 2007 -> 09:32 PM) Lol, the Heismann has nothing to do with who is better than who. You don't think there's politicking involved? Hell Mike Hart continued to get pub for it even when he was sitting out games and two or three other big ten running backs had better numbers. And you play the schedule you're given. I don't doubt that if Hawaii played in the SEC or other major conference they wouldn't have gone 12-0. But so what? The fact is he lead his team to a great season. But more importantly, he holds tons and tons of PASSING records for qb's in all of college football. What I heard from Jones was: Brennan is a QB, Tebow is an option QB. Brennan can make all the throws, Tebow is an option QB. Tebow will probably win the Heismann, he had a great year. But how many Heismann winners succeed on sundays? More importantly, how many option qb's succeed on sunday? For some reason the NFL keeps trying, *cough "#10 best player of all time" cough*, yet they never do well. Go ask Eric Couch how the NFL treated him. Lets see, QB, WR, kick returner, towel boy. I see the same thing for Tebow. I don't care what the Heisman is about, I know what it should be about. And when Tebow wins it this year, which he should, it will have nothing to do with politics. I don't care what schedule you play, watch games, look at scores, and tell me that Hawaii is a better team than Florida. You were the one who brought up 3 losses. Hawaii played a s*** schedule and barely won many of those games against s*** teams. If you are seriously looking at 3 losses to 0 losses, you need help. You also need to check your hearing, as Jones clearly said that Tebow is a system QB and Brennan is not (while Brennan is good, he plays in a 'system' if I've ever seen one outside TTech). When Rece gave him a chance to get out of it, he didn't and trashed him compared to Brennan, said he couldn't make all the throws, etc. Also, Tebow is nowhere near an 'option QB.' He is a hell of a passer that can run the ball like a RB. His passing efficiency numbers are outrageous and he plays in the SEC against real defenses. Comparing him to Eric Crouch proves your ignorance. And again, how anyone will do on Sundays (or how anyone not named Tebow has done on Sundays) is completely irrelevant to college football or this topic. -

QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 2, 2007 -> 09:12 PM) That was great - good for him. Tebow has been great this year, but I think guys like Brennan will be playing on Sunday whereas Tebow will be coaching em up on Saturdays. When you put the ball in Tebow's hands down a touchdown or two in the 4th quarter, he doesn't perform. Hence their three losses. I don't care how they portray into the NFL, and your accuracy on that statement is questionable. The Heisman, or who is a better player than whom, has NOTHING to do with the nfl or draft status. And Tebow is easily the best player in the nation and is having one of the best qb seasons in the history of college football. And three losses? Brennan played me and 10 friends on defense week to week and barely won many of them. They play Florida's schedule and they have more than 3 losses. If the Heisman vote is even close the voters should be ashamed of themselves. Jones sounded like a complete moron. -

It was one play. I don't see how 11 guys playing hard on the first play is any sort of tribute. It's the same as every other play. I thought it was a unique gesture. -

June Jones just called Tim Tebow a "system quarterback" on ESPN. Basically was trashing Tebow left and right, said he wasn't an accurate passer, etc. -
QUOTE(FlaCWS @ Dec 2, 2007 -> 08:02 PM) I am surprised no one has brought up that ridiculous replay reversal on Toomer's TD. For the life of me I cannot figure out how they decided that was conclusive evidence. And it turned out to be a huge momentum shift. If the Giants get a FG there, instead of the TD, I think it may have changed things.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Dec 2, 2007 -> 07:37 PM) what a f***ing joke and what a f***ing horrible BCS. Hopefully they learn their lessons with horrible ratings this year. Michigan vs. Florida in the capitol one bowl should be one of the better games. LOL, that's a terrible argument. Of all the problems you could come up with, this is the one you name and use Michigan as an example. Well done. -

We made the freakin Rose Bowl. That didn't seem possible at the start of the year - most of us were looking up the date of the Motor City bowl, and hoping we ended up there. USC is easily a better team. They should win and most likely will win, perhaps by 20. A loss in this game is pretty irrelevant to Illinois fans at this point in time, because we're. in. the. rose. bowl. After the past 5 seasons, that's just unthinkable. -

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Dec 2, 2007 -> 07:00 PM) Does anyone other than me hate the fact that Fox has the BCS bowl games? They do ZERO college football all year and then jump right into the BCS with their NFL talent covering. I hate it! This whole BCS Selection Show is stupid as well. I'm sorry, but college football and the bowls are NOT the NCAA Tournament. And that is okay. It's been painful. They don't cover it all year, then they take these games. Johnson and Switzer are complete assclowns. -

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Dec 2, 2007 -> 02:28 PM) i'm as big of an illinois fan as anyone but they would struggle to keep it within two touchdowns against usc. still, i don't really care. all of this is just more validation for zook on the recruiting trail. they will continue to add top-notch talent and improve as a program. i know there was a lot of skepticism here regarding zook's ability to lead the program. if they end up in the rose bowl this year, i'd have to think that some of the "zook can't coach" stigma would be put further to rest. Agree with this 100% -

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 11:16 PM) I know the game was on tv, so I can't add much. But Ronnie Woo Woo was in my section 225 during the 2nd period and he was doing the "Hawks woo" BS. People in my area at least we're pissed, then he moved on to another area in the 200 section. Great crowd tonight....You know, I'm watching the game now, because I recorded it, and the crowd sounded way louder live during the anthem than it came across on tv. But that's Comcast and most sporting events I guess. For those of you who we're at the game, how about that dancing kid in the 3rd period? Was that awesome or what? I was wondering what the crowd was cheering wildly about coming back from break, assumed it was something on the jumbotron but didn't know what. -

Fantastic tonight. Another solid game which was over pretty early on. This organization is going places, and fast. Chicagoans, time to take notice. God damn that was fun. BTW, this will come off terribly, but Habby missed his shutout thanks to Buff getting absolutely torched. I really wanted him to get it. Buff is bad defensively but I'll excuse that one tonight. -

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 27, 2007 -> 07:54 PM) On a separate note, for all of you bastards (I use that term with lots of love, fellas ) who have a chance to make it out to the UC tomorrow... I'm completely jealous. Marty Havlat's return, Sharp and Williams back in the lineup, Vinny Lecavalier, Marty St Louis, Brad Richards, Toews, Kane... there's going to be an ass-load of talent on the UC ice tomorrow night. Tonight should be fun, I'll be there...eat it Keith -
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 27, 2007 -> 03:16 PM) Of course last night there weren't any HD broadcasts... I'll pick one up in the next couple of days hopefully. But I must say, it's AMAZING the difference just on regular tv shows. Sabres/Caps was on Versus HD

I think they should just flip a coin in OT to determine who wins. Wait, the NFL already does that. Move it back to the 40 and play ball.
