Henrik Sedin ends it at 2:31 in the morning with 1:54 left in the 4th overtime. 6th longest stanley cup playoff game in nhl history.

And we're going to a 4th overtime. The heart and will of these guys is epic. Words can't describe how tired they are. Dallas hit another crossbar with 2 minutes left in that OT. Love playoff OT hockey.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 01:11 AM) I got to see my first playoff hockey game tonight at the Honda Center and the atmosphere was really good and both teams came out sharp and intense for the first period and a half and than it seemed like there energies died and they started playing a real passive game as they just tried not to make mistakes. The Wild played good and there goalie came up huge, too bad he got checked by his own defense man with the end result being the game winning goal by the Ducks. That first sentence is one hell of a run on... I saw some of that game, but it conflicted with SJ/Nash OT for a while and then I was watching both that and the Van/Dal game. Both teams looked pretty solid, I think that can be an interesting series if Minnesota can score some goals. It really would have helped em to take game one.

And we're going to triple OT in the Dallas/Vancouver game. Dallas has dominated the game but can't get another one past Luongo. Barnes hit the crossbar with about 20 seconds left in the 2nd OT.

QUOTE(Dan @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 05:26 PM) they are putting nobody in the seats and ticket prices are outrageous for hockey that bad. They got a new owner in February. I would hardly call 8/12/16/20(club)/25(glass) outrageous. I'd love to know where you get that from. 8 is behind the net, first level. They've also had 2 for 1 deals, kids $1 tickets, etc. Playoff tickets for the first round? 6 bucks everywhere but club and glass.

They won't be, though what league they are in next year is uncertain at this point in time.

Yeah i meant sean, not the old braves pitcher, lol. Buffalo was ousted last year becuase the injuries to their defense was just too much to overcome. A healthy Buffalo team is close to unbeatable; a beat up Buffalo team, yet again, will have some adversity to overcome.

Blackhawks win top pick in NHL Entry draft
I agree with this, from Dale: When you get an opportunity like this to pick 1st overall, do you absolutely hang on to it or consider trading it? "I'm sure we're going to get a lot of phone calls during the draft week wondering if we'll move this pick. We're going to listen to everything. This is a great asset here we have. We're going to sit tight and see what happens. If somebody comes along and makes us an offer we can't refuse -- if it makes our team and organization stronger -- then we'll have to look at it. It's great to be in this position right now."

You can't declare twice and then come back, IIRC. So he's gone.

QUOTE(infohawk @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:13 AM) I'm not hanging this one on Ozzie. The manager put the closer in the game to start the ninth inning with a one-run lead. That's all you can ask. We can't assume Anderson would have thrown out Bradley at the plate. I'll agree Podsednik should have made that catch, but it should never have come to that. Bobby didn't get it done. End of story. When you're nursing a one-run lead in the ninth and your closer gives up four hits, your going to lose the game. Bobby needs to get his velocity back. It would also do him some good to not always go to his curve with two strikes on the hitter. What makes the curve so good is the specter of that fastball. I can't remember the last time I saw him throw the fastball with two strikes. The hitters know what's coming and have a better chance at hitting it. I'm betting a high fastball would have gotten Walker. Wow, this is WAY off. Don't "end of story" it ever again this season, please.

Jenks blew, the O blew...however, your manager should ALWAYS put your team in the best position to win. You never know when that might be the difference in any particular game. No one can pin this on one thing, and the blame should go around, but there's no excuse for a manager not playing perfect x's and o's, to borrow a football term. I dare someone to tell me how he did this tonight.
