FYI for anyone in the UD for tonight's game -
IlliniKrush replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Not sure why they didn't think of this for the 2nd and 3rd games of the year or even in previous years. Saves them money by not having to staff the UD with ushers, concessions, etc. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 12:25 PM) Tracey Myers @TramyersCSN 57m Lines: 23-19-20, 10-26-81, 29-65-88, 52-16-28. All righty then. Hey, it's been a while since we've had some line fun. #Blackhawks Brutal. Get Versteeg off the "first" line and put Kane there, or really anyone else, Versteeg has been awful. And if you are going to play Shaw at center, flip him with Handzus. STOP PUTTING HANDZUS BETWEEN 2 OF YOUR TOP 3 WINGERS. 3 f***ed up lines there.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 10:07 AM) Speaking of, she dressed as Ariel on last night's Dancing with the Stars. But who cares, DJ Tanner was always ugly anyway. EDIT: And yes, I watched some of that with my wife. F*CKING SUE ME. They've shown Valerie Bure multiple times, and my wife is so tired of hearing about him and his brother from me. -2 main points

Just re-visited all the controversy surrounding his draft status, hadn't thought about that in a long time. It was crazy. His Wikipedia page was a good read. Also I like how randomly you got one with his 96 instead of his 10, had that for 2 seasons. Then went back.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 14, 2014 -> 04:13 PM) I was obsessed with him and Pavel Bure as a teen. True story, I have an authentic black Bure jersey (it was a touch large as a kid so I can still wear it). Back when you had to order that kind of stuff through Jerry's Pro Shop.

Teemu is the man. I'll be watching as many Ducks games as possible for as long as they last in these playoffs.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 14, 2014 -> 02:31 PM) It was a model plane flown into a naked woman's you know what. I think Deadspin has a screenshot of it if you are anxious. Oh boy.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 14, 2014 -> 02:23 PM) Check out @UsAirways Twitter feed. They found the missing plane! VERY VERY NOT SAFE FOR WORK!!!!!! NSFW!! It's gone, what was it?

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 13, 2014 -> 09:14 PM) Enough of these 8:30 local time puck drops. Especially for a network nobody has ever heard of. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Apr 13, 2014 -> 09:20 PM) Will Kane and Toews be back for game 1? Probably, just not at 100%.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 13, 2014 -> 02:01 PM) The choke job is complete. Hawks Blues in round 1. Blues have been outscored 22-5 in their last 6 games We may lose, but I'd much rather take this match up than the Avs. Blues are struggling, Ryan Miller has been bad recently, and more importantly, they also have injury problems. Who knows how many of them will be back in action come Thursday. Thursday night and Sat afternoon are the games we know so far.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 12, 2014 -> 11:07 PM) Just bought 2 tickets that are 7 rows up in the corner for the Game B in Tampa between the Lightning and Montreal. "Only" $110 each. Also bought 2 tickets in the lower part of the upper deck for $55 each. Hope this doesnt backfire but I'm going to throw them on stubhub this week and hope some Montreal fans really want to see their team play. What are the prices for Chicago home games in the upper level? For $55, I may hold onto the tickets and go with a friend as long as its not being played at the same time the Bruins are. Mucho expensive. http://blackhawks.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=97168

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 11, 2014 -> 02:41 PM) Plasmas are also much heavier and get red hot. My 7 year old plasma owns at watching hockey. However they do not make a plasma large enough for a big room so you have to spend quite a bit to get one of the better LED's. I also only buy samsung. I have an Apple TV on each TV in my house so the "smart" features never get used. I have used 3D and its cool, but only for the occasional movie. If you want good blacks with an LED micro dimming is a good tech. At the end of the day if there are light splotches in a super dark scene during a movie will you even care? It could be the stupid comcast feed anyway. The ONE thing I hate is sometimes LED's show a skipping hockey puck or golf ball or show the notorious 3 balls flying through the air. You can adjust your setting to minimize that and LED's look pretty slick otherwise. I just got a 75 incher for my basement and I am sure it will be awesome for 90 percent of what I watch. Or you could always get this http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UN85S9-85-In...rds=samsung+led What TV do you have, Rock? The new one that is. Part of me wants to stay plasma because it's better for sports, part of me wants to go to LED since it's lighter, will be easier to mount (never done that before), no burn in/red hot.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 11, 2014 -> 10:46 AM) At this point with the technology you can't just talk about LCD/LED/Plasma and compare them based on the TV-type alone. Each TV is different and unique and comes with certain technology that is going to aid with the picture. It used to be that Plasma's had the best blacks, but LED/LCD's have become much better and unless you're a real videophile I'd be shocked if anyone can really tell the difference without the two tv's being right next to each other (LED/LCD's of good quality I mean. Not the uber-cheap Sams/Costco models) It hasn't been said yet, but also grab a tv without all the extra internet crap on it. The tv companies charge you 2-300 bucks or more for that stuff and really it's not necessary when you can spend $100 on a roku/amazon tv box or $35 on a chromecast. There really is no benefit to having it all built in to the TV. Using my internal samsung stuff takes the same amount of time as my chromecast and the quality is all the same as well. I agree with this - but looking online, it appears most TVs come with all this extra s*** added + 3D, and who needs that crap?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 11, 2014 -> 10:21 AM) Go in-store, find what you want, then check Amazon. Samsung is the only brand I'll buy, but if I were to look elsewhere, it'd be Sharp or Panasonic. And go LCD. Trust me on this, LCD is the bomb for Blackhawks games. LED is iffy and Plasma is a big no-no. Does it put one of those Fox glow balls around the puck to make it easier for me to watch? A quick search doesn't show many options for LCD...? Especially at bigger sizes. Why no on the plasma? Rock didn't you say something about LED being tough to track the puck, it skips or something? Also thanks everyone for the tips here...very helpful.

Where to begin looking for a big TV for a basement? What to look for? Will be used 99% of the time to watch sports. Online? In store? Brand? LED vs Plasma? Any help appreciated, there seems to be a million options.

The kick to the stick was amazing. Such a great hockey play. Reaction time was amazing.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 10, 2014 -> 10:08 PM) Going from watching the Sox game to in this thread with no knowledge of what's going on has been fantastic with your last 2 posts. Minnesota shorthanded goal to win it with .6 left in the 3rd.
