    BP

I heard Hawk talk about Frank using the aluminum in BP so last night at the game I went early to see BP, I noticed Frank, CLee, and Valentin all took some swings with the aluminum. Jose hit a mammoth with the aluminum that hit the sign in the right field bleachers off of one bounce. Can anyone explain to me how the aluminum bat helps, btw from what I saw Frank never got one out of the infield with the aluminum, most popped into the screen, obviously though it did not affect his performance last night.
  2. It's nothing personal, we just feel that a Knicks fan can not lead us through thick and thin...maybe after Houston and Van Horn pack their bags we will consider you a legit candidate
  3. Anybody but Apu, I prefer a Soxtalk democracy. Don't take it to hard Apu, this board just isn't ready to elect a foreward thinker like yourself, perhaps future soxtalk generations will frown on our decision, but right now it is the best. Perhap CW would make a great president on this board, level headed, always speaks the truth, how can we go wrong...but then again because of CW's religious connection, the ACLU would be all over this soxtalk government. In the end I am undecided and will not be voting in this election.
  4. I believe the contrary. Cotts has a good chance of losing to Detroit too, so you might as well pitch him against the Yankees, and then throw Buehrle in Detroit because he has a slimmer chance of losing to the tigers. So it is like this- strong possiblity of losing if Buehrle faces the Yankees good chance Cotts could lose to the tigers or- Very Very Strong possibility of losing if Cotts faces the Yankees Very Very Slim possibility of losing if Buehrle faces the Tigers.
  5. upperdeck reserved moved to upperdeck box
  6. Follow up- I went with the 'All-out' Sox gear, and it went well. I hear a few 'Sox suck' walking in. After that nothing until the introductions in which I stood and cheered (my friend, a mets fan rooting for the sox, pussied out of doing this), and numerous yankee fans yelled 'sit down ya bum' and 1 threw a catsup packet at me, luckily it did not explode on the jersey. The fan sitting next to me would constantly make fun of sox players to his friends loud enough for me to hear, and he would rub in every out. I was booed a little when I got up to go to the bathroom. I moved to closer seats right before the 4th inning. There I encountered more Sox fans and 2 drunks who stopped caring about the game and just barraged me with questions about Chicago and the Bears, nice guys, just drunk. Coming out two 'thugs' stared me and my friend down as we were walking out of the stadium, and they said 'stupid asses', after that all was good. So Yankee fans weren't too bad.
  7. Votes are cast before the postseason, which makes the world series irrelevant in the race for MVP, but it does make it that much important for Magglio to go on a tear in September.
  8. When I returned from vacation I sorted through the mail and found that the SI with parcells on the cover had an article about the Sox. Though the article did not have much of a point except explaining that we have more tools than we used too, I still liked it, and enjoy the media attention. Anybody else see this? btw, anybody hear read the article about ted william's chaotic freezing?
  9. Loiaza is not a shoe in just yet, but i think as long as he continues to pitch decently he will win. my picks are as follows. AL MVP- Ichiro AL Cy Young- Loiaza NL MVP- Pujols NL CyYoung- Smoltz
  10. I will be attending tonight's yankee game as well as wednesday's and thursday's. I don't know what sox gear I should wear, be mindful, this is in the bronx and I don't want to provoke any yankee fans by appearing to be a yankee hater. I could go All out white sox, which would mean wearing the jersey and throwback sox hat. Casual fan- All Star game hat, all star game t-shirt or just go with hat and nike baseball t-shirt. any advice?? (I am thinking that I go with the first tonight, and see how that goes)

    Uh-oh

Glad to hear Corwin is healing well. He is my favirote prospect, From what i have heard though, he doesn't have a change-up that could take him to the big leagues permanently.

    Driving lessons

I'm back from the lesson, it was a little scary, I was talking to the guy and didn't notice that I had accelerated to 55 in a 40 zone, he didn't care until we had to turn and I tried to do a left hand turn going 35, I didn't make it tight enough and almost T-boned a car but both the instructor and I threw on the brakes then he bluntly stated "what the f*** are doing?" Other than that one occurance it went well. My instructor's friend's dad is part owner of the white sox which I thought was pretty cool BigHurt- does that mean you failed your previous driving test?

    Driving lessons

Even though I am 16 and all of my friends back in Illinois have their lisenses, because of NJ laws today will be my first driving lesson. I already passed Drivers Ed. and the State exam, but in NJ you have to take private behind the wheel lessons. I have 3 two hour lessons (today, tomorrow, thurs.). I am excited and a little nervous. The only driving I have ever done is in a parking lot, and now I will be driving on roads as soon as the instructor comes to my house...quite a jump. Wish me luck!
  15. mine too, what are the odds of that!

    Back and glad

Thanks for the Tips CW, last time I went to a tigers game, a bum tried to sell me an empty sprite bottle...that was a tough sell...I gave him 50 cents and he kept the bottles. That area is nice by the stadiums, but I have cousins who live in the suburbs of Detroit and they will only go into Detroit for sporting events. I know they are hoping for an urban renewal based on these sports complexes, but they will have to do something like Baltimore did, creating not just a sports area, but turning warehouse areas into trendy neighborhoods and such. My brother joked that to turn a city around you just need to bring in an army of gay guys, and they will do the rest.

    Back and glad

Check that, I leave friday morning so I will be in Detroit in time to go see the Sox. I have not been to down town detroit since 2000, has it changed at all for the better?

    Back and glad

LOL, I thought everything you said was funny, so the sense of humor is still there. BTW, what do you think of Marlin Jackson, only a one game suspension, I feared worse. THis gives him one game to warm up before the clash against the irish. I leave friday night for the opener

    Atlantic City

I am not old enough to Gamble, so I was kind of bored in Atlantic City, but there is great candy along the boardwalk, and the meatloaf and trump tower was above average.

    Back and glad

I am back from my vacation to Chicago and Florida, I saw the sox beat anaheim which was cool, love the new additions to the Cell. I was in Chicago when the power went out, so I missed all the excitement and I have to reset all my clocks...damn. Anything exciting happen on the boards in the last 2 weeks?
  22. that just shows Cotts is already better at getting hitters out, now just imagine if he could keep the ball over homeplate
  23. Tom Glavine's Big League Debut numbers 3.2 IP 10 H 6 ER 5 BB 1 K I think his control has improved a little huh? Maybe our lefty minor league ace will have the same kind of improvement! Go Cotts, we're cheering for you buddy!
