QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 10, 2007 -> 02:27 PM) Now that I think about it... One that gets me is when you're walking down a hallway or down a street, you pass someone you know, you either say "Hi" or give a casual hello or head nod or something because you're both clearly on your way somewhere, and the other one responds with some version of "How's it going" or some other question which not answering would be rude. Seriously, I'm trying to do stuff, I don't want to turn around & start a conversation all the time. Just say hi! Im guilty of this. I have a trained response in my head. Normally my answer to anything like this is "Hows it going?" and with my job I meet new people a lot and I just always say that when anyone says hi or even asks me whats up or how Im doing.

The question so obvious that noone thought to ask

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 02:24 PM) I don't like the idea of giving up a first-round pick for Anderson, but we'd only have to give up one first, plus a third. He's only a restricted fa, and they'll put the top tender on him (1st + 3rd compensation). The farther along the season goes the more and more I think the Browns are gonna match whatever offer they get for Anderson and pass on the first and third rounders. -

At the time I wanted Mike Williams bad, followed by Braylon, I most certainly did not want Ced and I stand by that today. -
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 10, 2007 -> 01:21 AM) This probably should go in the sports forum, but... Sportscenter has become a sick joke, an absolute embarrassment. Tonight they didn't show highlights of half of the NBA games and showed all of one NHL game. You know, I don't even care if they want to do their bulls*** analysis segments and whatnot and put hockey as the last thing of the night, but not show it at all? Re-freaking-diculous. It's a shame how much that whole network has fallen in quality (outside of a select few). I remember the days of watching Sportscenter before I went to school, enjoying the highlights and guys like Olberman (sp) and Charlie Steiner and of course Kenny Mayne. Bah -- I'm getting old. Soon I'll be all like, "Back in my day, we had to walk up to the TV to change the channels. But now...!" (that statement isn't true, btw). I know what you mean I actually started watching more and more NFL network because I hate some things ESPN does. I dont watch hockey but I see the reason for showing the highlights. They already have most basketball, football, baseball fans, so to extend to hockey fans only helps them.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 04:18 PM) How about the guy standing at the urinal next to you who is uncomfortably too far away from his urinal. And I'm not kidding about this one....have seen it a couple times in my lifetime, the guy who pulls his pants and underwear down to his ankles at the urinal. And I'm not talking about a kid. I see that a decent amount, its normally old men

Sing all these about the gym reminded me of a thread at talkbears about people at the gym and I found the link of the characters at the gym. Man, anybody that goes to a gym can relate to at least half of these guys.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Nov 7, 2007 -> 07:28 PM) You wish. I can picture you sitting there in your car behind a guy with a frat sticker on his car and you missing a left turn because he was a little slow off the line and you being furious about it.
-
QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Nov 7, 2007 -> 07:20 PM) Oh, then I take it back. Frats are the shizzle!!! Which one didnt give you a bid?

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 7, 2007 -> 03:42 PM) Sorry SSI, I do that. I like to eat half of her meal, plus whisper about the funny s*** we hear other people talking about. I like your manhood peeves. I dont like the guy who is constantly wondering if his girlfriend is mad at him. Then he acts tough like he doesnt care, yet is seen running out of whereever he is 2 min later. How about the friend who gets a girlfriend and then you never see or hear from him until they break up. Ok, seeing this makes me think about a kid I was friends with since high school and as of say the past year have stopped talking to. Me and pretty much every other of his friends stopped talking to him after he got his recent and only girlfriend. I am going to post two links to Yahoo! Answers questions he asked to seriously get advice about what to do about a couple situations he was in because of his girlfriend. I swear that not only are these both true and absolutely happened, but that I know this idiot and yes he is this pathetic. My girl friend let a man sleep over after a big fight. should i trust her? I need advice!! My girlfriend made out with her gay friend at the bar. In front of me, should I break up? I dont know whats worse, the fact that this guy actually asked the yahoo community for help in his relationship or the fact that despite everyone saying to dump her he wont. Edit: also for the first one, this "old friend" was an ex-boyfriend that she has slept with in the past

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 7, 2007 -> 03:00 PM) People who have blind hate for people in fraternities. Thats interesting. I never even thought about it. I was in a fraternity at SIU and I have my feelings about them but I have met a lot of people who will just say things like, oh you have to pay for your friends and stuff like that when they really have no idea what theyre talking about.

Don Shula needs to go to hell.
DrunkBomber replied to Steve9347's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Heres what I brought up a few other times. I completely understand what Shula is doing, what most people pointed out and just getting it out there in case they do go undefeated so he can be on record saying they thinks he cheated. It makes him look like an ass and a whiner. Also, doing this is so stupid because if theres one thing about this Patriots team that to me seems fairly obvious its that they feed off of stuff like this. If there was any chance, which I doubt, of them sitting their starters after they clinch Shula pretty much ruined. This made the Patriots decision easy, now they are absolutely gonna go for the undefeated mark to spite Shula. -
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 7, 2007 -> 12:56 AM) Ah yes, the gym, here we go: People who work out in jeans. People who wear sunglasses while working out. Couples that hug and kiss while they work out together. People who read while on the treadmill or stationary bike. If you have enough focus and concentration to retain anything you're reading, then you're not working out hard enough. Go home and free up the treadmill for someone who is ready to work hard. Guys that 'super set' on 4 different stations at once. Guys that shave in the nude at the gym. I don't shave in the nude at home, why the f*** would I do it at the gym?? Where do you work out in, hell? I forgot about the naked locker room types. Things that shouldnt be done in the locker room nude: shaving hair talk on phone chemical application of whatever is in that little black travel bag that smells like my grandpa walk around conversating air drying

I have been a fan of Shana Hiatt for a while. I dont see how she is considered a sportscaster after WPT and Poker after dark.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 6, 2007 -> 06:04 AM) No, I haven't. Oddly though it sounds almost identical to TGND. Dark Horizons rips that one to shreads. The thing about TGND though is that though it's material is terrible stuff, there is something about the book that works so well. This is why I didn't think a film could be made. Jack Ketchum achieved something amazing with that book, he gave it such a strong heart. It didn't read as an exploitation, but more as a warning to everybody that this crap does go on, and can be happening anywhere. I'm like Steff, I cried through that whole book, but I never wanted to put it down, and I never felt "wrong" for reading it. I've read A LOT of Horror fiction, and I finally got tired of the Splatterpunks (oddly a genre that Jack Ketchum is largely responsible for), but this book was different. There is nothing else like it. Ya, this one actually uses the same names and time frame as the true story as opposed to TGNDs slight changes. Id actually be interested in seeing both of them.

QUOTE(Brian @ Nov 6, 2007 -> 12:34 PM) And cornfields, nd exit, cornfields, rest stop, cornfield... its been a while since I made the drive...Im glad to hear there are still the cornfields
-
QUOTE(Brian @ Nov 6, 2007 -> 11:25 AM) On my long drives home and to SIU, I would entertain myself by yelling at other drivers. Some of the profanities out of mu mouth would prevent me from running for pres if recorded. I made that drive one too many times, I didnt think it was that bad though. Once you get on 57 for the most part it was always wide open. Then you have amazing scenery to look at like, a prison, a huge cross...and thats about it.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 6, 2007 -> 10:16 AM) Really? Granted I'm young, but in my experience, having the girl be clear in what she is looking for makes everything much easier. Read "The Game" by Neil Straus, he explains it all for you.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Nov 5, 2007 -> 11:15 PM) I'll build off that left hand turn deal. People who are slow off the line suck. I'm not talking burning rubber, but way too often the first car in the left hand turn lane takes 2-3 seconds to even begin to move, causing 2-3 cars well behind him to miss the light. Anticipate the light and start moving. Oh and people who still stop on a red light with a green arrow (while turning right) suck. Well, this also could be karma. This could be the universe getting even with you, for every time you jam up traffic on 290 with the Manheim trick it adds a few seconds on to peoples off the line time.

I think I can eliminate my lists and sum it up simply, you are the epitome of my pet peeve lol

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Nov 5, 2007 -> 11:12 PM) It most definitely saves me time. You bypass a ton of bumper to bumper traffic and it takes 2 minutes to get back in. Hell if it didn't save any time, why would anyone ever do it? Obviously it saves time lol, but Id rather be part of the solution then the problem. What kind of person would I be if I committed my own pet peeves? Whats worse is I might be giving people ideas.
-
QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Nov 5, 2007 -> 11:04 PM) It saves me 10-15 minutes every time, best trick in the book. BTW, it seems you've turned this into a 'things you hate' list, not necessarily pet peeves. Lol, no it doesnt save you any time. Its people that do that who are creating the traffic. A guy can have a lot of pet peeves...
