QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 25, 2007 -> 09:15 AM) Not those that are depressed or having an identity crisis, they need professional help. But that is a very small percentage of his customers. I am comparing Robbins to a sports coach. He offers motivation, success tips, and a giant dose of confidence just like a coach. Same with Dennis Waitley, Og Mandino, Zig Ziglier, Norman Vincent Peal, Dale Carnegie, and a host of others. We accept that a football player needs a coach, why not a sales rep? A designer? a school teacher? I dont think the motivation would as bad if it was being offered for free. A sports coach tries to motivate his players by pumping them up and its also only for an athletic contest. Robbins charges a fortune and makes hopeless people think they will fail if they dont keep paying him for their help. Tony Robbins thread anyone?

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Nov 24, 2007 -> 07:57 PM) So it's ok to have people who are depressed, or having identity crisis run across hot coals and tell them their problems are solved? Not only that, but to charge money for it? Are you seriously comparing a mental disease to playing a football game? Im assuming you know someone who went there cuz they actually do that

QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 24, 2007 -> 08:38 AM) If you don't see a difference between Tony Robbins and this ass clown, which one would you rather see your mom appear with? Let's make a pile of people's whose lives were ruined by each person and see which pile is bigger. Let's see whose lives were made better, and see whose pile is bigger. I see the difference but I also see a similarity. Its not the same thing but at the end of the day they are both making a profit on people with low self esteem. Also, its funny you brought that up about Robbins, my mom actually got 2 free passes to attend a Robbins convention a few years ago and brought my brother. When they came back they were both brainwashed, and unless you have seen someone you know as well as intermediate family come back from one of theose things, I dont wanna hear that I wouldnt know if they were. For the next 6 months they thought their lives would fall apart if they didnt buy tickets to the next conference or at least buy the newest cds to listen to. Now my brother who lives in LA is struggling trying to be an actor and wont even consider exploring a plan B because Tony Robbins told him that having a contingency plan means you have already conceded that your dream is going to fail and the only way to accomplish this is with his very expensive help. Also, since there is absolutely no way to determine who has hurt more lives its pointless to debate it, but IMHO someone making people think they can change the outcome of everyday events by using their minds can hurt someone a lot worse than going to Cancun and getting drunk and flashing a camera for a t shirt.

Saying him and Hef are my heroes was half joking. I just dont see why people are concerned with what this guy does. He is not the first guy to file fraudulent tax returns or take advantage of drunk girls with low self esteem. I heard two people talking about this guy the other day and when the one guy brought up taking advantage of people with low self esteem the other guy brought up some good points. Look at a guy like Tony Robbins, he is the king of taking advantage of people with low self esteem and he gets praised for it because it doesnt involve nudity. He may be arrogant and not have the best morals or business ethics but there are elected government officials, cops and CEOs of Fortune 500 companies who do much worse but dont get talked about.

That guy is on my hero list with Hugh Hefner

Im actually a big fan of Uncharted so far. Ive played it longer than any of the other non sports games Ive gotten in the past.
-
I did end up getting Uncharted. Everyone in there said it was much better than either of the other two games. They said Cod4 was good, but if I dont plan on playing online its not that good.
-
QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 03:26 PM) CoD4 and it's not even close. Like I said, it would take a lot for me to like a FPS. I absolutely hated Resistance. Uncharted actually looks pretty cool, is it more of an adventure game?
-
Ok, Im gonna exchange a few of my games I dont play and get a new one. I need help. Cod4 or Assassins Creed. Keep in mind, I dont like first person shooters and am more looking for a long adventure type game I will play offline. Im leaning towards Creed but Ive hear a few people on here say it sucks.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 18, 2007 -> 10:56 PM) For those with NCAA 08 and who are playing on Heisman, here's a question that may sound stupid but I'm gonna ask anyways -- how do you tackle? It seems like I can't make an open field tackle. Diving at them usually ends miserably, just running into them (not hitting anything other than literally running into them) usually fails or they don't even attempt to make a tackle, and the hit-stick isn't precise -- it seems like you have to 'anticipate' with the hit stick, meaning there's a delayed reaction -- you hit it and then a half a second later it goes for the knees or for the big hit. I'm also having some trouble in my season -- I'm 4-3 with Northwestern and seemingly can't stop anyone. I also have no pass game whatsoever. Any ideas there? I was having the same problem and the best solution I came up with was to use the hit stick, but I make sure I use it to correspond to which player Im controlling. If Im playing a safety or corner I always try to hit it up so I take out there legs and if Im a linebacker or lineman I hit it down. I might have those vice versa, Im not sure which is which trying to think about it but I hope you know what I mean. The only way i leave my feet for a tackle is if I knife through the line and the qb or rb is going through another gap because occasionally you can shoot under a blocker or get to a guy you wouldnt normally be able to.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 10:04 AM) Went to see American Gangster over the weekend. I enjoyed it quite a lot - Denzel should never play a "good guy" again. He looked so out of place in that fur coat and hat, though, it was funny as hell. I just got American Gangster on DVD from China and will probably watch it today. I also saw Reign over me recently and I thought it was very good.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 10:21 PM) dude, you gotta do some more of your own research before you walk into a gamestop (which by the way only care about money) and pretty much buy whatever the clerk recommends. The two best game websites are probably www.gamestop.com and ww.ign.com. Go to those websites and look at their reviews, and go to their forums and read people who have played the game's thoughts, and even ask any questions of your own. Hell, subscribe to a magazine. I get Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM). That is probably the best gaming mag. out there. PSM (playstation mag.) wasn't that bad when I subscribed to it, but try and stay away from magazines that focus on one system as there is likely at least some bias. Ironically, EGM seems a bit biased against the PS3, but I don't think they are that bad at all. Plus, most games now are multi-platform and any game that is on xbox360 or PS3 is pretty much the same game. Well, I know what games are rated high and I actually went to see if they had Cod4, which I doubt I would like anyway, I actually also check in here a lot to see whats good. Cod4 was out of stock and I wanted something to keep me from getting burned out from Madden and NCAA.

I went to Gamestop and ran into a salesman, got talked into buying the Simpsons, so far, ehh. It is fun to have 8 games and only play 1 or 2 though.

QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 07:55 PM) Saw this thing at Linens & Things the other day for $400. You could probably build something similar yourself for a lot cheaper if you've got a little PC and woodworking skills. http://www.amazon.com/Big-Electronic-Games...8876&sr=8-2 I got a friend who made one of those and he has it rigged up to the internet with like every game system in it too so it has like every game and hes been trying to sell it for a while.

Does anyone know if there is anything on the market like a Mike Vick jersey for dogs? I just got a puppy and I think more than anything that has been needed in my life that my puppy needs a Vick jersey.
