QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 27, 2013 -> 02:53 PM) I would pretty much agree with this, at least regarding very hot girls in college and their early to mid 20s. There are always exceptions, though. I know a guy who married a very sweet, kind girl who I'd physically rate an 8. They met at a party, she facebooked him and sent him a message saying they'd met that night, he got up the guts to ask her out. No games, exclusive dating and few years later they were married. He can't believe how he got such a perfect girl since he considers himself a 6. Then there's that married guy I know who cheats on his wife. We go to a Hooters type place one day to eat lunch (I know, pretty lame considering the food sucks) because he goes there to drink once a week and wants me to go with him for lunch. We go there and the owner comes out to talk to us and he introduces us to some employees including a waitress who is a 10. He also introduces us to a set of gorgeous twins, but anyway, my friend goes back to the place one night and the 10 talks to him and they go to another bar when she gets off work. So he takes her out twice to great restaurants, she's all into him texting all the time. He helps her move one day. Finally they have sex. He said it was great, no hiccups there. Great sex. Now she's not texting him at all. When she does text, the tone is not sexual like it was before. He's ready to give up on her. Now is this because he's married and she sees no future in it? They've finally had sex and that's it? Or is it because he's been very nice to her with the nice restaurants, etc? She is 25 with 2 kids and her exes treat her s***ty. He's treated her so nice, is he getting the nice-guy dump? My point is I've seen people meet and there's a storybook dating experience/marriage. And there's many many more who have to play the game constantly and it frustrates them. I would think once girls hit the age of 27, 28, they change a bit if they want to get married, have kids. I do know some hot 30 year olds at work who are single and even are staying home alone on weekend nights probably because they were too picky and finally opportunities let up to meet people, except at work. Comments? The best part of this story is that he helped her move BEFORE they had sex.

I just randomly did one of the yahoo $20 leagues where youre playing vs all strangers. No flex players or PPR or anything. Had the 6th pick and ended up with: Stafford McCoy, Chris Johnson, Matthews, DMC, Ingram Marshall, Fitzgerald, T. Smith, Jennings, Stevie Johnson Daniels, Bennett Janikowski Pats D -

Going back to my original post. After doing a draft it almost seems like I should be keeping Rice even if I dont want to. Basically now I have to decide before midnight tonight. I have to decide between Martin, Dez, Ridley or Martin, Rice, Julio. Any last minute thoughts? -

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 06:49 PM) Well my draft starts tonight and I got the 7th pick this year. I'm sure guys like Rice, Richardson, potentially McCoy, Lynch, Morris will be there as well as Megatron (I'm assuming guys like AP, Foster, Martin, Charles, maybe Spiller might be gone). My next pick is in #4 in the second round in a 10 team draft. My question is should I still use my first pick on a RB like McCoy/Spiller/Richardson then go from there or maybe use some strategy and try to nab Megatron (beef up my WR core with maybe Marshall in the second) and then get a RB in the 3rd round like say.. a MJD/Chris Johnson/Ridley/Murray then maybe Brown in the later rounds? I'm strongly leaning toward the second one, but I might be over analyzing (I'll kick myself if say.. a Julio Jones was available in the 4th/5th round) but I wouldn't mind some opinions on this. I did my first draft last night, it was a 12 team league. Starting RBs came off the board so quickly and there were WRs that are usable in the mid to late rounds but once the RBs are gone there is basically nothing left to get besides guys like the Carolina Rbs, Ingram, the Denver backs and handcuff type guys. Id go RB for sure in the first and then either RB or WR in the 2nd. Make sure you have at least enough RBs to start before it gets too late. There is better depth at QB and TE then there has been the past few seasons also, so unless you want to target one of the top tier guys like Rodgers, Brees etc, you can get guys like Romo, Luck, Stafford, Eli, RG3 a little later. Same goes for TEs. Unless you want Jimmy Graham you can get a solid fantasy TE in the later rounds. -

QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 11:50 AM) Who would you start as a 2nd flex...Andre Brown, Fred Jackson, Zach Sudfield, Tyler Eifert, Josh Gordon, or Ryan Broyles? Are one of the backup RBs worth starting over the potential of the other 4? Also is Sudfield worth hanging onto or should I pick up Heath Miller who's coming off an ACL injury and will miss a few games? EDIT-Just found out Gordon is suspended the first 2 games, so he's out. Id absolutely hang on to Sudfield. As far as who to start its a little early to decide for week 1 imo. -

Thanks for the responses. I also want to add in case it was confusing that I could pick three players all from that first list, the guys on the 2nd list are just the only potential guys who have been in the league longer than 3 seasons but the franchise player could be anyone on the roster. Im leaning towards locking in Kaepernick as the 2nd keeper. The only decent qbs that will be in the draft are the Mannings and maybe Romo and I pick 9th out of 12. -
I remember we had a thread like this last season that a lot of people used. I need some keeper advice. This league has weird rules. You can keep up to 3 players, one is your "franchise" player and can play any position and be any age. The other two have to be going into their 2nd or 3rd seasons (Cam Newtons draft class). If you keep just one player you lose your 2nd round pick, if you keep 2 you lose your 2nd and 12th, and if you keep all 3 you lose your 2nd, 12th and 15th. This league is NOT PPR and its 12 teams. For my 2nd and 3rd year guys I have: Doug Martin, Julio Jones, Stevan Ridley and Colin Kaepernick For my franchise player options I have: Ray Rice, Dez Bryant I will obviously be keeping Martin. For my other 2nd/3rd year guy Im leaning towards Ridley but I think both of the other guys arent bad choices. For my franchise player I have no idea who to pick. Rice seems to be the easy choice but I could potentially have Martin and Ridley already at RB and since this league is a non ppr Bryant actually outscored Rice last season. Kaepernick seems like a stretch but as my 3rd keeper Id only lose a 15th round pick and would have a QB locked up and not have to worry about drafting one because based on these keeper rules Id imagine Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Manning, RG3, Luck, Stafford, Ryan etc will already be gone.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 5, 2013 -> 01:19 AM) I was watching the Chicago pawn shop reality TV show today. I feel like I was getting addicted to it. Those 2 brothers are quite the characters. I loved when one brother got a tip on a horse and went to see the horse run with some mafioso-type guy. Entertaining stuff. The horse won. I saw that too and watched a few episodes of it. Its hard to take it seriously because of how fake the original hardcore pawn is.

QUOTE (juddling @ Aug 4, 2013 -> 07:17 AM) Saw 2 guns and Wolverine at drive in last night. 2 Guns was better than I thought it would be....Wolverine (to me) was a terrible movie...... Agreed on Wolverine. Me and my friend almost walked out of it.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 15, 2013 -> 11:06 AM) Something is off about this...mobile phones draw between ~4-5 volts. That's less than sticking your tongue on a 9 volt. I have to imagine Apple checked but the first thing that popped in my head is I wondered it it was a knock off iphone.

Ya Fifa can be tricky because it can be up to 22 people connected to one game and there are also lots of people that play it all over the world so the connection can be rough. On NHL the servers are pretty good, its mainly played by north americans though.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 15, 2013 -> 10:40 AM) NHL 13 is incredible. The variance of goals and the way you score is top notch. It actually plays like a real game and not like an arcade game. I guess that's why I like it, though. It's realistic. It depends what game mode you play. Playing Vs on 13 is quite fun. I pretty exclusively play 6 on 6 online and there are a lot of flaws in the game that the 6 vs 6 community has gripes about. Things like how easy it is to play goalie, all goalies have to do to dominate online is sit in the middle of the crease in butterfly and make their player 6'9" and its nearly impossible to score. Also, if you spam the Y button (triangle on ps3) while skating behind someone with the puck you can "ghost poke" it away from them, its just a very glitchy game online. A large part of the community has stopped playing NHL 13 because of the goalie issue. If youre bored here is a video of someone playing goalie like that in the league I play in, its Minnesotas goalie on the bottom of the screen. Its become an epidemic in the game.

I like the looks of NHL 14. NHL 13 is the worst of the franchise since I started playing in NHL 10. Theyve actually more or less have gotten progressively worse. I just dont think they can do worse than 13 though.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 8, 2013 -> 10:09 AM) Played the demo for State of Decay over the weekend. Anyone play that? It's a 360 Arcade game. Basically a poor man's Left 4 Dead but more open world with various safehouses to upgrade. A little rough around the edges, but for $20 bucks I might pick it up. I also played the demo after seeing a few of my friends playing it. I heard the full version is pretty glitchy but I know a lot of people enjoyed it. If you havent played Hitman Absolution its on sale now for $10 which is a crazy deal for a game of that caliber. Also, the game defense grid is free for july, which is a decent tower defense game.

Well for me personally I am probably gonna get the xbox because thats what my friends are getting and because the NHL community is significantly better on xbox. At some point me or my roommate will get a ps4 so I can play exclusives on either system, which isnt a big deal to me anyway. To me the systems are pretty comparable. I was curious to see what xbox was going to do with with their initial plans but as they even admitted they didnt explain it very well (or at all really) so if they want to change their policies to appease the majority of consumers then Im not overly concerned with it. I never buy used games and will always be able to connect my console to the internet (I have played games online with my 360 tethering from my iphone with no issues when my internet was down). On the other hand I can easily see why some people wouldnt like xbox's initial proposed plans and understand why it would make them not want to go with xbox this time around. Another thing I like, which I honestly have no idea if it would work with ps3 or ps4 as easily as it does with my xbox, is how easy it is to stream videos from my windows 8 laptop to my tv using the xbox. Literally all you have to do is turn on your xbox and then right click on the movie on my cpu and click "send to xbox" and it immediately starts playing. I didnt have to install anything on my computer or xbox, it just works because windows and xbox are both made by microsoft.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 21, 2013 -> 02:45 PM) Im not taking it personally, I just get tired of ad hominen statements/arguments. Present a good argument for why Xboxone is better than PS4, maybe people will take it seriously. Like I quoted, the PS4 is arguably the more powerful machine, so the argument is just perplexing. I dont think anyone (especially in this thread) is saying the xbone is better. It is a person to person preference. If anything anyone in this thread that tries to discuss microsoft gets torn to shreds unless they are ripping them apart. I know I was in the minority but I preferred the original xbone ideas they had before they changed it sans some of the details about the kinect. None of the things that people complained about would have effected the way I personally use the console but I realize a lot of people were turned off by it so if it helps the community then its fine with me.
