  1. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 20, 2013 -> 11:25 AM) Right, you can install games from the disc too to speed up loading times, but you still can't install the game and then play it. That's what I want...to BUY the physical media, THEN install it, THEN not need the disc again. You need an activation code to prevent pirating and stealing games, but I want that option too. OR why shouldn't I be able to download a game once I have a physical copy and new activation code. I'd like to download Fallout 3 to my system, as I did with Left 4 Dead 2, but I will have to pay for the digital copy of it. Why should I? I've already bought the physical copy. Id be a fan of this too.
  2. In most cases I would prefer to just download games and not have to go and get them. There are a few circumstances where I might want the physical copy, but in general I like not having to switch discs when I switch games and I like not having to go to stores just to pick up a game that I can download at home.
  3. Interesting take on the xbones changes
  4. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 20, 2013 -> 12:03 AM) I was one that was already interested in switching and their respective announcements sealed it. My gaming habits have changed since I bought my XB360 -- when I bought it, I was really into Halo and COD and playing online with my friends, who also had XB360. As time has gone on, I have used my XB360 as a device to occasionally play games offline and to stream movies/sports from Netflix, Hulu, HBO Go, MLB.tv, NHL Gamecenter, etc. I really got sick of paying for XBL to pay for these services that I already am paying out the ass for, things start adding up. Pair that with some crazy billing scheduling quirk they have that led me to paying for more than I wanted and I became fed up. Seeing the announcements, I'm assured that I can buy used games on the PS4, not pay for subscription just to stream movies/sports, and I pay $100 less up front. Looks like a winner to me, though it is worth mentioning that I may just quit gaming for now and go with Roku. I have a feeling playing video games may detract from my grad school admissions prep If youre not gonna play any games then it doesnt make sense for you to get either. I dont know how many people who play video games dont play them online, but as I understand it if you want to play games online on the ps4 you need to pay for ps plus anyway. But ya, if youre not going to play games you might as well just get a roku.
  5. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 11:10 PM) Right, I mean it is nice instead of being stubborn they realized they needed to change things but it already had an effect on a good amount of people. Xbox can still be fine but without all the bs I think they would have been the go to system without any debate. Ya they definitely havent done themselves any favors. I think a lot of people initially planned on sticking with the next gen console of whatever they currently have until micorsoft dropped the ball at e3. With the news today I think a good amount of xbox gamers who had considered going to ps4 will be rethinking things and likely stay with xbox. Its nice for us as consumers to have the two battling against each other at the same time. Who knows what the price would be or what kind of limitations these systems would have if they werent being released right around the same time.
  6. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 09:08 PM) Not nearly as much as all the crap Microsoft tried to push but yeah that isn't exactly a good thing. I could be wrong but unless Sony really s***s the bed they definitely have the early advantage, it is too bad they are releasing after Xbox. I think its a little early to determine how much anything will effect either console. I was just pointing out that after how bad microsoft has been raked over the coals this past week its nice to see them learn from their mistakes and correct the issues.
  7. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 08:00 PM) It was still a major setback regardless, just by trying all that stupid s*** gave Sony a chance to become the more popular system... Microsoft already turned me off to point I'm 95% going to get a ps4 anyway down the line. Ya well Im sure stuff like this is gonna turn off some people too.
  8. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 06:54 PM) If it proves anything, people overreacting was what made the change so I don't think that's accurate at all. I can agree with that I suppose. Its nice to see that microsoft was quick to make these changes. I think a lot of people were going overboard with how they responded to the initial announcement but if it helped make the change then its a good thing. As I said earlier in the thread though it was a little premature to rule one system the clear winner when so much is likely to change before they are released.
  9. If this proves anything, its that a lot of people severely overreacted. A lot will likely still change before both of these systems are released.
  10. Picked up the last of us from Redbox. Im excited to give it a whirl later tonight.
  11. I wonder if xbox will have a way to prevent letting your friends log in on your account and play games you paid for while youre not on your xbox since theyre saved to your account via cloud. If not that could be interesting.
  12. Ive had both a PS3 and 360 at different times, I currently have a 360. As of right now Im not sure which console I will get. I think a lot of people are overreacting and Id like to get more details about each system before I go crazy for one or the other.
  13. Ya I just got an alert on my phone that it was for a 6th rounder.
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 29, 2013 -> 01:13 PM) Amanda Bynes' twitter account > drunk sex with no strings attached Ive recently been spreading the message to my friends that Amanda Bynes is a must follow these days.
  15. Got lucky and got 2 tix for tomorrow off a friend. Should be pretty effing awesome.
  16. I hadnt even heard of this, and Im upset at myself for it.
  17. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 10, 2013 -> 08:16 AM) Lord of the Flies was the s***. Also, for those that liked The Outsiders, how did you not immediately follow that up with "That was Then, This is Now" Oh ya I forgot about Lord of the Flies, that was another good book and movie combo.
  18. 6th grade, The Outsiders. Definitely by far my favorite force read. Loved the book and the movie.
  19. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ May 9, 2013 -> 04:49 PM) Of Mice and Men was the one w/ George the mentally handicapped fellow, right? That was a sad story. He just wanted to pet the rabbits
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 9, 2013 -> 03:39 PM) Cowherd was making some good points this morning...if Rose comes back, he could be a target for Birdman or some other goon if things were to get nasty... Ya me and my friend were talking about that yesterday when we watched him commit about 3 uncalled fouls in 2 minutes and then capped it off shouldering someone out of bounds. Its unfortunate that something like that could weigh into the decision, but it makes sense.
  21. Of Mice and Men > The Great Gatsby in terms of forced HS reads.
