Billy Wagner-R-Mets Aug. 21 - 5:36 pm et According to the Boston Globe, the Red Sox may have been the club that claimed Mets reliever Billy Wagner on Friday afternoon. The Globe heard from a major league source that the Red Sox "covet" B-Wags, and WFTL 640 out of Florida is reporting it was Boston that put the claim in. If the reports are true, a deal should get done quickly. The hard-throwing left-hander is owed about $2.5 million the rest of the way. Source: Boston Globe

"Our options aren't much. Maybe (Saturday), we change our minds. But right now, we got to keep running him out there, hopefully for the best." After a bumpy start to the year, Contreras seemed to start turning things around in June and July. He's right back to being a liability, and you can bet the White Sox are looking for a replacement.

Kenny needs to trade for a pitcher that has already cleared waivers and DFA Count.
