The Official "Let's Not Fire Anyone" Thread
I would actually have no problem sending down Beckham, I think we rushed him to begin with as a quick fix band-aid. This team is nothing more, at best, a .500 team.

GAME THREAD: 4/10 Twinkies vs Sox - 12:05pm cdt CSN+, Baker vs Garcia
This team flat out stinks, it's plan and simple. Vizquel can't hit any more, Jones is done, Pierre couldn't pay his way on base, Teahen is just garbage, Beckman will probably have a sophomore slump, Kotasy is a waste of a roster spot, both Alex's are way too inconsistent, we over value TCQ after only having one decent year and Paulie is an aging bat. We don't have much to rely on here....

I blame ozzie
I blame Kenny Williams. Teahen blows Kotsay blows Team can't produce runs, get on base, or hit. Reminds me of the 2009 team. It's unbearable to watch, I turned it off after the 10th inning because I knew we were going to lose.

ESPN Magazine Computer Predictions
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 07:38 PM) Teahen struggling and Konerko declining don't sound like good things for the offense, but if all of that went right, the Sox offense would be pretty goddamn good. The Sox don't suddenly need like 7 guys to step up to even have a competent offense. The big things they need are for Quentin to come back to something similar to his 2008 form while maintaining health and for average seasons out of quite a few players. Expecting Beckham to improve is not far fetched at all (and could even be likely), and expecting Alex Rios to put up something closer to .800 than .700 is actually probably a good bet as well. Still a lot of "if's" for my liking....

ESPN Magazine Computer Predictions
QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 06:09 PM) We're counting on big bounce back years from TCQ, Rios, and maybe even Jones for us to score enough runs this year so I understand their thinking- we cannot afford any let down years out of almost anyone to score enough runs this year. Although, maybe KW solves that problem at some point in June... Plus you putting your hopes on Beckham improving, Alexei finds his bat again, AJ hitting .300, Teahen struggles, Paulie declining, etc.

25 man roster set
Starting pitching is good, not thrilled about the question marks surrounding the lineup and bullpen.

ESPN Magazine Computer Predictions
Sounds about right, we aren't a playoff team.

Which team did you have higher expectations for?
2006. I have no expectations for 2010. This isn't a playoff team....Good starting pitching, average pen, average lineup doesn't make you a playoff team.

So Who's the Next Long Rumored White Sox to come aboard?
QUOTE (Mattchoo @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 04:07 PM) Not to get people riled up, but haven't the sox been rumored to be interested in Gonzalez for more than a few years now? I think I saw a Juan Gonzalez rumor on here before....

So Who's the Next Long Rumored White Sox to come aboard?
This has been the offseason of long rumored "to be traded/signed with the White Sox." First it was Omar Vizquel. Then Andruw Jones. Now it's Juan Pierre. Who's next of the yearly list?
-
sox close to another deal?
Please be Adam Dunn....

Sox interested in Yanks' Brett Gardner
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 13, 2009 -> 10:35 AM) Now Cowley is saying the Sox are thinking Juan Pierre. If he throws out all the names and one comes to the Sox he will be the guy that knew all along. I'm shocked Cowley has just read off the entire FA list. Wait till late January when he says the name Sheffield.....

Sox interested in Yanks' Brett Gardner
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 13, 2009 -> 11:51 AM) he at least argued the merits of the situation where you provided nothing. and still provide nothing. This topic is dead to you, stop commenting and ruining the thread, your opinion is known. I believe my comment was Getz > Gardner.
