  1. DeJesus looked like he really messed up his thumb there.....
  2. Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Tigers, Braves and White Sox have also expressed interest in Jose Bautista. The major league home run leader has also drawn interest from the Giants and other teams could join in as the July 31 trade deadline nears. Bautista has launched 26 dingers and collected 64 RBI this season, but his .238 batting average and .354 on-base percentage are rather uninspiring. Still, he would be a nice addition to any contending club Per Rotoworld.
  3. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 07:46 PM) I don't have the study on hand, but there is virtually no difference whatsoever in players' performances during the beginning, middle, or end of their contracts. Paul Konerko, Great year. Jayson Worth, Horrible year. It evens out.
  4. I honestly don't see ourselves as World Series contenders. I did in 2005 when we went wire-to-wire in 1st place. Really don't trust this team to lose our top prospects for rentals.
  5. Kenny should just stay pat. I don't see anything on the market that is worth the price. We already lack major prospects, no sense giving away the farm now for average to below average players for 2 months.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:35 PM) Oh, it could completely be the turning point. I think the turning point was more likely the Peavy injury, to be honest. The ripple effect that' going to have not only on the starting rotation, but on our ability to improve our offense, is what will keep us behind the Twins. I see the Peavy incident as Kenny Williams trading our best prospects for below average pitching at the deadline this year. Don't get me started on that rant. Kenny should stand pat on starting pitching.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:33 PM) We were up 3 going into bottom of the 9th. This game falls on Jenks/Santos, no one else. Should of been up by at least 6 or 7 runs....
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:32 PM) Something the first half of this season is to not trust anything with this team, good or bad. It's 3 losses...sure it sucks, but I GUARANTEE you that if the division comes down to 2 games in the end, there will be plenty of other chances we blew. I would circle this date as the turning point of the fall. I didn't trust this team when they went 26-5, why should I start now.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:30 PM) Horrible losses? What are you talking about? At least we came back Friday night and made it a game, the Tigers just lost four in a row to Cleveland. It sucks, but that's what happens in a long baseball season. After Thursday, the White Sox had made up 14 games in a little over a month against the Twins. Even without Morneau, the Twins are not as bad as they were playing, and they still have a ton of pitching question marks. However, we really did manage to bring them back to life when we could have knocked them 5 1/2 back or more. Good teams would of buried Blackburn when they had to chance and not leaving too many runners in scoring position. This team has no killer instincts at all.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:29 PM) THANK YOU! This isn't like the debacle in 2008 when Floyd/Jenks blew a big lead and then we lost in extras. Again, it's not 1 game, it's 3 straight games....against the Twins, after the all-star break.....not a good trend to be setting.
  11. QUOTE (Soxguy @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:27 PM) It was one game. Plenty of games left vs twins and detroit. Yes it sucks, no need to panic though. 1 game? Did you miss Friday's and Saturday's crapfest? 1-3 in a most win series coming off the All-Star break is a bad, bad, bad trend setter.
  12. QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:26 PM) We are still in 1st place! I hope this is a joke post. Not for long.
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:25 PM) Being down 3-1 and rallying to a 6-3 lead is rolling over like a dog? Buy a clue. Did you not watch Friday and Saturday?
  14. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:25 PM) Oh for God's sakes, we have one horrible loss, one lost series after going 25-5 and everybody's ready to jump off the ledge? Jesus man: nut up already. 3 horrible losses in a row to a division rival in a playoff hunt. It's going to go worse.
  15. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:23 PM) The worst post I have ever seen on this board. The worst. Truth hurts doesn't it? The old White Sox are back.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 04:22 PM) Shut the hell up We got beat 3 games in a row to a division rival. This team isn't playoff ready, no fight and they rolled over like dogs. They're toast.
  17. That's 3 losses in a row. That's called a losing streak. Get use to it folks, the real Chicago White Sox are back. They'll be 6 games out in 2 weeks. Season. Over.
  18. I'll pass, not worth giving up what you have to get him
  19. The real Jayson Worth is rounding to form this season. no thanks
  20. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 12:28 PM) I smell another complete game for Pavano. I'm right once again.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 03:20 AM) We need another starting pitcher and a big bat. Can KW get them without trading our huge parts for the future? Should be interesting. Nope. We are better off staying pat.
  22. Please god no, Ted Lilly stinks. A big no thank you.
