  1. Still a good chance to acquire players this way. The trade deadline isn't really over till then.
  2. Why cry over Berkman, he's not much of an upgrade and clearly is on the decline to past two seasons. Injuries have taken a toll on his career.
  3. Nats are trying to get KW to deal up more prospects for Dunn. It'll probably still happen.
  4. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 05:14 PM) I have no idea who this is but it really excites me! Heard it maybe A-Gon.
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 04:26 PM) Great. A disaster of a deadline. Yeah, because the White Sox deadline is a day earlier then the rest of the league..... Get a grip people. Rotation is upgraded, I am happy.
  6. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 03:49 PM) THis trade just gets worse and worse the more i look at it. Ugh, hes so bad. I'd take Hudson 100 times out of 100 over Jackson. I sure as hell wouldn't.
  7. Anything new going on, I was in meetings all afternoon? Sounds like nothing. At least we know part 1 will end tomorrow afternoon. Then it's waiver rumors time!
  8. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 12:50 PM) Actually no, I'm pretty sure it was posted here that his insurance doesn't kick in unless he is out starting next season. You've answered your own question.
  9. Insurance is paying Peavy's remaining salary this season. We have money to spend.
  10. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 12:44 PM) lol, you do realize that adding that 8 million dollars does limit this teams flexibility to make other moves? Just like we couldn't add Peavy and Rios last season because of "payroll flexibility." LOL, tell me another funny one......
  11. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 12:37 PM) Yeah, I'm not pissed because I was in love with Hudson. I'm pissed because we're paying 8 million for a small upgrade. Is that you Jerry? Are you physically paying $8 million dollars?
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 12:21 PM) Congrats, you might be the first person to prefer Jackson and/or Hudson over the best pitcher in the NL from the last decade. The same pitcher that had a no trade that said he WOULDN'T go the White Sox. Oswalt is a moot point not even worth discussing because we would never come here.
  13. Would you stop overrating Hudson. He's the best prospect in a below average farm system. Jackson is by far a clear upgrade. The team is in a win now mode.
  14. For the people that said Edwin Jackson wouldn't help us this season.....can I have what your smoking because he's clearly is an upgrade over Garcia and Hudson (at this time). This team is in a win now mode, and this is a win now move. You can't have you cake and eat it too when it comes to keeping all your top prospects and fielding a contending team.
  15. Stop over-valuing Hudson. In any other organization, he's an average pitching prospect. Jackson helps them win now and that is the goal. I see more Brendon McCarthy in Hudson then I see John Danks.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 08:44 PM) Twins on the verge of acquiring Capps Where did you hear that?
  17. Breaking news: White Sox signed RHP Jon Adkins to a minor league contract. Championship!
  18. As stated above, the Cantu trade takes them out of the Berkman sweepstakes.
  19. Buster_ESPN Heard this: The White Sox consider Lance Berkman as one of their Plan B options, now what they don't expect to get Adam Dunn.
  20. Buster_ESPN Heard this: The White Sox consider Lance Berkman as one of their Plan B options, now what they don't expect to get Adam Dunn.
  21. SI_JonHeyman #chisox among teams trying for adam dunn. 3-way scenarios with edwin jackson going to #nats are in play.
  22. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 04:37 PM) Your guy says we have, though? Yup.... Nats weren't coming down from Beckham.
