  1. Well, we are only a half game from us blocking the Twins.
  2. God we better not blow this game. We should of gone for help in the pen after we got Griffey.
  3. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Aug 1, 2008 -> 07:43 PM) Javy with a no hitter through 2!!!! Way to jinx it.
  4. But if the White Sox claim somebody, they have, I believe, 48 hours to work on a deal. No play has to "clear" waivers.
  5. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 06:15 PM) Well, I guess the most obvious move is Griffey to CF, Swish to 1B and Platoon Thome/Konerko at DH or have Paulie backup at 1B. Right? Paulie will play first when Griffey needs a night off. I wouldn't platoon him with Thome.
  6. I see the Sox getting a middle RP that route.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 30, 2008 -> 09:35 PM) Does anyone think the Brew Crew may make Sabathia or Sheets available? The Cubs are crushing them. Not while they're winning the wild card.
  8. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jul 30, 2008 -> 09:29 PM) The classic ESPN context, stretch hte story and then have 30 reporters covering the story in Boston. They are all in route to Boston from Favregate.
  9. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 30, 2008 -> 09:27 PM) I still wish we had Borchard. Williams really is an idiot sometimes. Yeah WTF! Borchard is a future HOFer.
  10. ESPN's Peter Gammons believes the three-team Manny Ramirez talks will stretch into Thursday and that a deal is still unlikely to be completed. It's been 40 minutes now and no one has joined Will Carroll in saying that the deal is done or even all that close to being done. Skepticism is still warranted.
  11. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jul 30, 2008 -> 09:19 PM) Jayson Stark has learned that KW is going to do nothing. It sounds like your hammered over there.
  12. Some late trade news: Rosenthal says Maddux's salary may pose a problem - the Dodgers don't want to take it on while the Padres want to shed it. He's still owed about $3.3MM. According to SI.com's Jon Heyman, the Diamondbacks offered Chad Tracy to the Reds for Adam Dunn. He says another NL team has also inquired on Dunn. ESPN's Jayson Stark says the Rockies will decide late tonight whether to put Fuentes on the market. The Mets, Phillies, and Rays are out given the high asking price. Ken Rosenthal wrote earlier that the Rockies were "poking around" with interested parties, still asking for a young MLB starting pitcher or two good prospects.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2008 -> 09:08 PM) This is a terrific post. BTW, the Dodgers are working hard on some big deals. I wonder if OC is one of them. They're probably getting Greg Maddux.
  14. I'll eat my Gavin Floyd crow....he's showed alot tonight in a big game.
  15. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jul 30, 2008 -> 09:02 PM) Field out of game!!!! Was he traded, no Fields for Street. I kid I kid.
  16. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 30, 2008 -> 09:00 PM) Wouldn't it be smarter to talk him up if we want him traded? Not if they've already filed a trade with the league office
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 30, 2008 -> 08:58 PM) I don't know. I do know he went out of his way to mention a less than stellar effort throwing the ball to first that resulted in an out anyway, at least 3 times. I think he's preparing, just in case. White Sox PR hard at work.
  18. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jul 30, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) Why do people keep saying OC will be traded? WHo will play SS?? That guy who just hit a 3 run homer.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 30, 2008 -> 08:54 PM) Doubtful, but Hawk got a jab or two in just in case. The bigger question is will Hawk have a jab or two for DJ in the booth if he isn't coming back.
