  1. If were trading BMac, Soriano would have to be resigned to a long term deal.
  2. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 09:27 PM) I think that's an odd argument, considering how everyone was clamoring for Widger (also the backup) to be dfa. I guess the idea is that, even if Sandy doesn't necessarily play better than Widger, his presence will make everyone else play so much better that we won't notice the backup catcher. I think that argument sounds pretty shaky, but we'll see. I think what I am trying to say is that everyone is making this out to be a major trade but in reality it is extremely minor and need to stop overreacting to a player that may play one game a week. But if AJ gets hurt, then were in trouble, but would be in the same boat if Widger were here.
  3. I just don't see why everyone is getting upset for. I doubt if this is KW only move and it's not the big splash that we've been looking for and no one should expect that to be. Sandy is only going to be playing 1 game a week, if that. It's not like he's the new starter over AJ or anything. It is what it is, a clubhouse move. It's a lateral move at best but if the coaches want this move, then I've got to go with them.
  4. most likely, no one would dare sign him for more.

  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 06:14 PM) On the bright side, we won't have to hear Widger be blamed for our pitchers stinking. Just replace Widger's name with Alomar's.

  18. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 05:37 PM) Where's Officer Karkovice when you need him? I wonder if Tony Pena is still looking for work...
  19. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 03:29 AM) I don't want Soriano, we need pitching. If we could spin vazquez or garcia for Gordon or for sanchez/heilman that would be great. It would be even better if we could also get a guy like Phillip Humber from NY. That is overpayment for Gordon and Sanchez/Heilman are not on the market. Most of the pitching that is out there, teams are demanding a king's ransom and we aren't overpaying. And honestly, if we really wanted Soriano, then it wouldn't be posted on Whitesox.com.
  20. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 02:55 AM) The Sox are a Soriano away from winning the Central. I promise you. Fixed
