  1. Scouts inc says that he will be our #1 prospect as soon as he signs.
  2. QUOTE (quickman @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 06:52 PM) exactly so why should anyone go to see them if the manager doesn't think we will win, why should we invest? This guy is a real piece of work. The sox org from top to bottom is the laughing stock of the league. You sound just like a cub fan, that is not saying much.
  3. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 07:49 PM) So because of a bad two months by a 27 year old and 32 year old, they aren't starters anymore? Really? No, cause their OPS suck..Dr. OPS.
  4. QUOTE (quickman @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 09:18 PM) Well if you think you can win the division without him then trade him, i still say he is a leader for the team and will turn things around as the year goes on. We have an opportunity to stay in this thing longer because the Tigers and Indians are playing worse than we are right now. Trading away your best pitcher in the last several years is a good idea only if you think Broadway has the NADS to help us get in the playoffs now which i personally do not think he has. He wasn't our best pitcher the last several of years.
  5. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 08:36 PM) I would seriously consider trading Buehrle. A National League might be willing to take a shot on him seeing as he might still be good against teams who haven't seen him. A Buehrle + Getz could net your a very good major league ready prospect. Something to consider. I think Broadway would be better than Buehrle and nothing leads me to believe that Buehrle is gonna be his sub 4.00 ERA again--in the AL at least. I totally agree with you, just hoping there are some teams that will bite.
  6. Every day , I say to myself this is the day Thome , Konerko and or Swisher start hitting. Well we are 2 months into the season and they still have not done crap, they are just plain brutal. Swisher has some hope but Thome looks washed up , and I don't know how far Konerko can ride the Thumb injury excuse.
  7. Lived on the North side of Chicago all my life, recently moved to Norridge.
  8. QUOTE (rangercal @ May 8, 2008 -> 12:16 PM) I don't expect the sox to get any "top prospects" for any of the listed players. But, it would be nice to pick up some low risk/high reward projects that teams may have given up on . Some examples of the last couple years would be Brandon Phillips, Gavin Floyd, Carlos Quentin, Josh Hamilton, Oliver Perez ect Floyd and Quentin where top prospects from their respected former teams. We'll be lucky to get a back up for any of the so called "fire sale" players we have. They need to get their numbers dramatically up so we can get any chance of a sleeper prospect.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 8, 2008 -> 05:44 PM) He needs more than a day off. How bout a week of Anderson. I'm with you on that one, why do we keep dealing with the A's?
  10. All right, let the bats wake up in the west coast.
  11. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 8, 2008 -> 04:12 PM) I thought Massett pitched last night? He did.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 8, 2008 -> 04:02 PM) You know what, I just checked some numbers, and gul darnit, they're actually right. I concede. Linebrink is actually a better pitcher against lefties than against righties according to his splits. Last 3 years, Lefties .609 OPS, righties, .730. I still think you put Boone in, but maybe that call wasn't as bad as I thought. Good investigating, thats why Ozzie is on the bench and we are here typing.
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 8, 2008 -> 03:54 PM) The fact you just compared a situation involving Scott Linebrink to Mariano Rivera proves you don't belong in this conversation. My bad Terry Bevington jr.
  14. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 8, 2008 -> 03:49 PM) People here make me sick. When Ozzie plays the match-ups and brings in Logan/Thornton, he's wrong and should have brought in his set-up man and is micro-managing. But when he brings in his set-up man, he's wrong for not bringing in the LOOGY and playing the match-ups. Give me a f***ing break. I hear you, nobody ever criticized Torre when he brought Mariano in the 8th to face 5 out of 6 lefties. If it is so easy to manage , get an interview.
  15. It's been a while, but a very nice way to get a "W". Way to go Sox
  16. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ May 6, 2008 -> 09:30 PM) I can't think of a single latin player or manager on this team that has an above average baseball IQ. If they read some of your posts, they might say the same about you.
  17. Way to go Gavin and the offense was not to shaby.
  18. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ May 5, 2008 -> 09:08 PM) 1) you fire Greg Walker 2) you hope that Richar comes back healthy... soon... and cut Uribe and take your losses 3) you give Nick Swisher a few days off to get his head clear 4) you send Alexei Ramirez down to AAA and call up Jerry Owens 5) you sit Thome against LHP starters (putting Dye at DH, move Swisher to RF and start Anderson/Owens in CF) and PH him in later in the game if needed I like number 5 the most, good post.
  19. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 4, 2008 -> 02:54 PM) We are 29 games into a 162 game schedule. We should have won the game today. You can't blame the team or any one player for this loss If Paul makes the play on that soft liner 3 feet to his right, the Jays do not score the 3 runs, like I stated before, if it was Crede that missed that very make able play, this board puts the blame on him.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2008 -> 01:06 PM) What is this? Keep it going! LOL
  21. Wow 2 doubles and 3 hits a one inning... been a long time guys.
  22. Lets go Paul, make up for your lackluster defensive effort last inning.
