QUOTE(Soxfest @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 06:12 PM) Overreaction 101 .........5 games and blow it up, do not get splinters in your ass jumping on and off the bandwagon when they win 8 to 9 in a row!

QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 01:54 AM) They look horrible! They can't even beat Kansas City. There's no point in even trying to salvage this season because the pitching staff has obviously declined drastically, and the hitting will never be able to pick up the slack. There's no way this team is going to win the division, so it may as well be blown up and dealt away for as much young talent as possible. When you sober up, repost your thoughts. Yes it sucks we lost 4 ina row now, but we can quickly turn it around, we play the Tigers after the Royals and we need to take that series or sweep.

He's a good player, and most of all a class act. We just cant get thsi guy out when it counts.

QUOTE(Whitewashed in '05 @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 04:39 PM) True. Politte just shouldn't be our go-to guy in the pen. I didn't have much faith in him in the 2nd half of last season and I certainly don't have any in him now. Our pen is brutal , from what im seeing. McCarthy seems to be the only guy than can get guys out.. Jenks hasn't allowed a run, but gave up walks and hits. Hope this is just a minor 4 game funk. -

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 04:03 PM) If you are playing the Yanks, the Bosox, the Angels that is great. But when you start losing to the f***ing Royals. And get 2 hit for most of the game by a Royals pitcher, then maybe we can get a bit upset. Thank god we went on the road, The Royals have been a trip so far, wait till we get to Detroit. really sucks. -

QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 10:26 PM) I really think the Sox need to get a bullpen guy, Thorton and Logan dont look to hot. Come to think about it, none of our pitchers do, for the exception of Contreras and McCarthy, hopefully Vasquez has a solid outing. -

QUOTE(G&T @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 10:24 PM) Well, there aren't that many changes to be made besides getting Dye healthy and playing the real lineup for a while to get that rythm that Hawk keeps talking about. Of course, they scored enough runs tonight. Guillen and Coop have to get these starters in line so that the bullpen becomes a little easier to manage. He also needs to ensure they don't get down on themselves too much. I really think the Sox need to get a bullpen guy, Thorton and Logan dont look to hot. -
QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 09:50 PM) They were the opening series caps. Only were being worn for that series. Burn the ones they had on today and start off fresh.

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 10:21 PM) Just got back to the hotel across the road from Kaufmann. I am now 0-3 when watching the Sox here in KC. I gotta stop coming. We looked absolutely awful. It was like the roles were reversed; KC was us and we were them First off, I don't know how you build up a 5, 6, 7 run lead and then blow it. At the end of the first we were already up 5-0 and the KC crowd was silent. It looked like a rout. And then we steadily blew it. Garland looked okay for about four innings but then he looked tiref or wild; whatever you want to call it. Our offense was spot-on in the first inning and then disappeared. Literally. Even Thome was a non-threat. As the Royals got back into it, their crowd got louder and louder--man, these people are loud for not such a big crowd. And here we are. On a side note, Ozuna's awful drop of the fly ball might not have been his fault. When I got to the stadium at about 6:20 it was 65 and calm here. Shortly after 8PM all of a sudden the temperature plummeted and the wind kicked up something fierce. That may have been the wind playing with him. I don't know if you saw it on TV but there were hot dog wrappers (tonight is $1 night) blowing all over the field after 8PM). It was COLD. Having said all this, we officially looked like (sorry moderators) s***. There was no spark and no urgency. We just got trumped by the worst team in the AL central. I was not impressed at all. And there were more than a few blunders, Ozuna nothwithstanding. Sorry for the grim report, but I'm just tellin' ya what I saw firsthand. If you plan on going tomorrow, sell your tickets

QUOTE(G&T @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 10:19 PM) Well I guess Ozzie is going to get his first managerial test early in the season. We'll see how he responds. What changes you think will be made? -

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 10:16 PM) Exactly. That's where the four earned I was talking about. But it's one of those losses where you just have to forget about it. Hopefully Jon and Freddy can pitch great performances these next couple of outings to get their ERA's respectable. Agreed, lets take the next 2 and start winning some series here. -

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 10:16 PM) I'll stick to the predictions I made a month ago. The Sox would lose the opening series to Cleveland, have a losing record in April and still win the division. By the way, this site has a new Timo and his name is Pablo. LOL -

Nice sig , Kalapse , good info on Haffner.

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 10:06 PM) I really feel sorry for Garland. Nine earned runs and like four should have been earned. He didnt make pitches when he needed to as well. Some fault lies on him, ozuna started the 5 run 1st. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 09:12 PM) Would you trade our offense for theirs? I would in a heartbeat....but of course, I'm often accused of hating the Sox. Pudge, Shelton and Ordonez are a deadly threesome. They have speed, power and hitters that hit for average... we'll see how this divison will unfold. -

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 09:09 PM) This is embarassing. 9 f***ing runs to the worst team in the majors. Wait till we play the Tigers next week. A team that can hit. Tigers jumped on these clowns and put there foot on there throat , didn't give them a chance for air.
