  1. QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Jul 10, 2008 -> 09:49 PM) You're ridiculous. The same batter doesn't bat 9 times in one game does he? How about one pitcher? Having one outstanding player doesn't constitute a winning team. I'm not gonna even bother with ya, I know now you have never stepped on the field.
  2. QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Jul 10, 2008 -> 09:44 PM) It's none of your business where I have been the last 10 years. I have been a lot closer to the game than the average joe. Let's just leave it at that. Unless of course you have any other questions. Try watching football, basketball and hockey and you will see what the definition of team is, baseball is full of self centered stats and players.
  3. We don't bunt or sacrifice bunt, so that's as close as "Team" comes into play in this game. Football, basketball, hockey are "Team Games".
  4. QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Jul 10, 2008 -> 09:39 PM) Right. Notice the key words you used there.."they." Baseball is a team game. Always has been always will be. We lost tonight because we didn't execute. Offensively and defensively. Baseball is the least of any sports that use "Team" efforts to win. Where have you been the last 10 years. Apparently you never played baseball in high school or college.
  5. QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Jul 10, 2008 -> 09:36 PM) I hate this board sometimes. You guys do realize that Konerko isn't solely responsible for the loss in this game right? The offense scored 1 run, and the bullpen didn't limit the damage, and Alexi also had his head up his ass on the relay. Paulie did f*ck up bad, but to blame this loss solely on his shoulders is ridiculous. We still won 2 out of 3.....we were in my opinion fortunate enough to do that. The name of the game is to score more runs than the opponent, be it 1 or 11. If Konerko even tries to move an inch, we get out of it and improve our chances of winning the game dramatically.
  6. Where is the know it all that had him in the top ten 1st baseman in baseball? not gonna mention his name but it starts with a "T". The funny thing about it , he had him ahead of the Twins 1st baseman.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 10, 2008 -> 09:29 PM) I just never want to hear again that PK is good defensively. Swisher, in the last month, proved how awful PK really is. I have stated that long ago on how he is nothing special on the defensive side. He can not make any tough plays and lets some easy ones look tougher then they really are.
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 10, 2008 -> 09:19 PM) As long as Paulie is on this team and not on the DL, he is going to start at 1st and Swish will be in CF. Gonna have to deal with it. Simple to say, Paulie cost us the game. That is not the first he has lost for us with his defense. We know he has cost us a bunch with his ooffensive efforts with men on.
  9. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 10, 2008 -> 07:11 PM) Not crazy about Paulie being in the lineup tonight. I'd have gone Wise in CF, Swish at 1B. Watch Paulie go 4-4 with 2 dingers..... Man o Man
  10. Javy Danks Floyd and toss up between Jose and Mark, by seasons end I think it will be Jose.

    Cuba

I was there for 2 weeks 5 years ago, had a blast. If you like fishing, get out and go, $10 will get you a boat with captain , 2 coolers .. one filled to the gills with beer and the other with sandwiches. Also flew from one side of the island to the other for $50 , cant beat that. Beach access is very good as well as most beaches keep the locals out (which I cant and don't understand). Have fun, was probably one of the best vacations I had and I been to allot of places.
  12. QUOTE (striker62704 @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 04:25 PM) Danks should have never been pulled. He was pitching great and only had 85 pitches thrown. Bad move Ozzie. Crede should have bunted Swisher over. Bad move Ozzie. How many times did the hitters choke with a runner on 2nd and less than two outs? Hitters sucked. Linebrink, tied game, bottom of the nineth, two straight fast balls, second one leaves the yard for a walk off homer. Linebrink doesn't learn. Dude, seems you haven't watched many Sox games or been to any. Crede does not bunt, so making him bunt is a bad move. Uribe gets on to lead off for Danks, but the offense fails to capitalize.
  13. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 04:21 PM) not ozzies fault but whatever You my man know baseball, Ozzie has no fault here. Players just did not execute.
  14. Your upset that Uribe played 2 days in a row, you should be use to it by now seeing Konerko in the line up almost every day. Konerko and Uribe are not the only guys that are stinking up the joint, honorable mentions to Swisher and Thome.
  15. Konerko is just brutal, guy cant make any tough defensive plays not to mention hit the ball. it just kills me that the know it alls on this forum want(ed) Crede , without a doubt one of our greatest defensive players of all time off the team. Hawk needs to stop defending Konerko every time he makes an error. I hope that somehow , we do not have Konerko and thome on this team next year. Kudos to Danks, good job kid.
  16. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 9, 2008 -> 01:28 PM) Whatever happens, I just don't want to sacrifice the gritty defense. That was my favorite thing about Skiles. Being able to shut down guys like Dwyane Wade. If we draft Rose I wonder what Hinrich will look like as a SG? Kirk will look very bad, he cant shoot. The Bulls need to package him and get rid of his poor shooting ass. He has been the most over hyped Bull in history, bigger than Brad Sellers.
  17. Ozzie is a genius! (his rant was meant to make the players realize that they can cost someone they care their job) . Alexei is a god send, thank you Cuba.
  18. QUOTE (Texsox @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 09:39 AM) But Fields is cheaper and we could use the money saved to plug some holes . . . Just what we need , another .220 hitter with limits on his defense.
  19. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 06:54 AM) I'd still rather have Fields, but his suckage at AAA this year is a bit worrisome. Im so glad some of us are not calling the shots for the Sox. Some of these comments are just perplexing?
  20. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 06:54 AM) I'd still rather have Fields, but his suckage at AAA this year is a bit worrisome. Im so glad some of us are not calling the shots for the Sox. Some of these comments are just perplexing?
  21. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 06:54 AM) I'd still rather have Fields, but his suckage at AAA this year is a bit worrisome. Why? so the kid can struggle and have no protection. Josh needs protection unlike Carlos who can adjust pitch to pitch. Crede much greater then Josh.
  22. Kudos to Crede, guy does not get his due. Alexei is the smartest player baseball wise on the team, have not seen a Sox player take the extra base , and read the defense like he can. Thank you Cuba
  23. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 7, 2008 -> 09:31 AM) Regardless, I'm going to all 6 games! Same here bud at Wrigley i will be in section 131 for all 3 games, let me know where your gonna be.
  24. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 08:07 PM) Go back and watch some tape. He's got a good arm. There is zero reason to be concerned with his arm. He's got a SS arm. Its not Juan Uribe's arm, but grades out adequately. Its also why a lot of scouts project him to move to 3B if he won't stay at SS (not 2B, because his arm is strong). Did read that as well, seems allot of guys just spurting anything to discredit this pick.
