  1. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 07:46 PM) this offense really needs a spark and we have our spark plugs either on the bench or in the minors. We need an engine overhaul.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 07:36 PM) Juan Pierre was the first one to the ballpark today to work out, arriving just past 11:00 am. According to Farmio. I like the story better about Showalter. How he ordered Roger Bossard to put holes in the outfield so that it would drain better. When, as expected, this didn't exactly work, Bossard refused to re-sod the entire outfield and made Buck do it himself. Maybe Juan should try to be the last guy to the ballpark. Being the first one isn't working out very well.
  3. I could really go for a nice greasy cheeseburger with grilled onions.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 06:51 PM) Ummm....there's no way in hell that's not Bo Jackson in his prime. Or Roberto Clemente. One of those two. What I liked best about Clemente was his accuracy...it was unreal.
  5. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 04:53 PM) I have a expectation of this scenario occuring. It's a feeling similar to pre-Minnesota games. And much like Minnesota games, even though I expect a loss it'll still irritate me when it happens. Ding! Ding! Ding! Same here, brother. I watched about 3 innings of the first Minn. game and then gave up to save myself the frustration which I knew was coming. The second game, I didn't even bother to watch at all, knowing fully well they would lose. Tonight even though I should know better, I'll tune in, hoping for the offense to show up (and the good Edwin). I'll be quick to turn it off if starts going bad. I just don't care to watch such sh*t anymore. I get too pi$$ed off.
  6. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 11:26 AM) If EJax gets shelled and Hudson throws a gem PHT should probably just be on a 1 day close down Agreed and it'll probably happen. My attitude is real bad again.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 10:59 AM) Juan Pierre (Yes, I know he's a White Sox. But he's so good I couldn't help myself). Besides, hopefully soon he WILL be an ex-Sox player.
  8. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 02:45 PM) NHL game 7 tonight. How can you not watch that? Who's playing?
  9. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 04:38 PM) Here is a pertinent article. Of course it's just the random musings of some guy, but I like the part about Kenny Williams. For the record, I don't hate Juan cause the guy works hard. It's clear though, that he's getting older and has lost a step. Totally agree. The guy is a class act, works hard and from interviews I've seen seems like a really nice guy. I like him. But, it is pretty apparent he ain't what he used to be.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 08:08 PM) Indeed. I think Bird could be an 18-20 PPG scorer. But it would be almost laughable to see guys like LeBron, Marion, Granger, Josh Smith, Gerald Wallace, AK47, etc, draped all over him. Back in the 80's you had Dominique and I guess Worthy. That was it at the SF position. And Erving and English and King and Dantley and Aguirre and Wilkes and......Mickey Johnson was no slouch. Don't kid yourself there were some good ones.
  11. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 08:04 PM) To commemorate the accomplishments of LeBron James, I plan on leaving work 12 minutes early tomorrow.
  12. My hatred for the Heat is such that I'm really, really happy Dallas won. Most years (that the Bulls haven't been in the finals) I'm pretty ho-hum about who wins. WAY TO GO MAVS!!!
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 02:21 PM) Man, no one making a winner thread. Helluva game Phil. Helluva swing Dunn. 6-4 Homestand. 3.5 games out, 2 games under .500. It's all good. Go Sox. This is starting to get exciting again. Dunn tied with Joltin' Joe at 361 career homers. That was quite a blast!
  14. Oh, Juan. You've lost me. I WAS one of your supporters. Now I want you to go away.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 12, 2011 -> 02:03 PM) Can anyone tell if the call at 1b was right? I thought he was probably just safe, but would love to see it again. Anyway, who cares? That's a White Sox WINNER!!!!!
